Former school janitor here. Can confirm weird shit happens in schools at night. Ive had a few expirences myself. Water fountains turning on by themselves. Toilets flushing but didnt actually flush. Doors slamming but they're closed. Tvs turning on by themselves. Keep in mind all of this is happening while youre working with the only other janitor in the building and you are both hearing and seeing this shit. Sometimes this stuff would happen when we were done and waiting to go home.

One of the janitors I work with said that there is a “bell” chime in the old elementary building from the 50’s that’s still used to this day. There’s nobody in the building and none of us know how to use the intercom system. It’s supposedly the old chime sound from the old intercom that still plays sometimes despite being replaced years ago.

I worked as a custodian at an elementary school, and I actually really liked being there at night. It was really funny when the cops would be called because people living around the school would see us around the school at night and think we were trying to break in.
In case someone asks what the difference between janitors and custodians is, it usually has to do with the work and hours.
Custodians do more heavy lifting and deep cleaning than janitors, and while janitors work during school hours, custodians come in all through the breaks. Autumn, winter, spring, and summer. During those breaks, custodians usually move desks around, deep clean carpets, scrape the wax off the tile then reapply it, paint all the walls, and so on and so forth.
Coming in during the breaks wasn't my favorite, but the pay was so worth it. If my spine hadn't snapped, and they didn't ask us to begin wearing black sweat pants or jeans and a black T- shirt I might have stuck with it a bit longer. We spent a good chunk of time out in the sun and I ended up collapsing from heat exhaustion.

When I was younger my family live in a house built in the 1940s (which is still up with a different family living in it) and this house had a garage with windows. My brother's always told me that there was a man at night always staring back at them whenever they went outside to see the stars. And I still remember when me and my cousin were going outside to go to my tree house right by that garage and on our way up the stairs my cousin said "Hey do you guys have other people living with you in the garage?" After he said that I looked back at the window and saw the creepy weird looking man staring at us through the window (no it was not my brother's, they moved out like 1 year before) whe ended up bringing my dad and my tio outside with us and they said the saw nothing while me an my cousin did. It was f*cking creepy, I'm never having kids man.

I asked my mom years ago if this happened or if I was just remembering a dream and apparently it had actually happened. From my mom’s perspective I (a 4 year old I think at the time) had come from my room and told her there was a tall man in the hallway. I scared her so bad she searched the entire house and called my dad crying about what I had said I saw. From my perspective I remember playing in my room right in the corner next to the end of my bed and my window when I looked to my bedroom door and a saw a tall man standing there with his face partially covered by the doorframe. I ignored it at first but then seemed to realize “hey, he’s not supposed to be there” and went to tell my mom. For YEARS I thought it was a dream I’d had because I did have some vivid dreams I remember while living there but turns out it actually happened 💀

The only way I can play a horror game for the first time is to implement the Markiplier Technique: crack jokes and laugh at myself the entire time or try to predict a certain trope before it happens. The whole “bury me with a bell” thing works like this: they have the bell above ground overtop the still living person’s burial ground, the string to ring aforementioned bell goes underground with a small hole and through the coffin walls, once the living person pulls this string the bell above ground will ring, signaling the groundskeepers like “Hey, I’m still alive, get me outta here”
