The Elements of Floral Composition class is my favorite out of all the classes I have taken on Altenew Academy, well worth it! I wish this was the first class I had ever taken as it is full of tips and inspiration. I just finished it and I am sure I will revisit it often. I am a big fan of Jaycee ‘s methodical, in depth classes and this is no exception, I recommend it to anyone looking at expanding their design skills. My favorite tip? Using the rule of thirds, understanding how to use it in your designs is a game changer!
Rule of thirds is a great tip! Both vertical and horizontal. I knew something about the rule of thirds, but for some reason only applied it horizontally. Looking forward to also applying it vertically.
I think the tip about making your sentiment part of your focal point is great. Jennifer Mcguire also recommends this and since I started doing this too, I like my cards better.
Fantastic video- every tip was helpful for my cards and scrapbook layouts! I like Jaycee's tips on arranging flowers in a triangular fashion and keeping the leaves and flowers "perky".
Great video, I’m heading to Altenew now to check out this class. My favorite tip was in flower arrangement, picture where the sun is and arrange everything as reaching to the sun with nothing drooping.
On my next floral card I am going to try Jaycee's #3 How Plants Behave. I have never given it that much thought, so I am interested in learning about how to arrange them on my cards. Thank you for linking up the matching videos to the tips.
I love how Jaycee used his work mat to initially lay out the design - I will definitely be trying this!

I just love the tips and tricks shared by Jaycee! Focal points are most helpful. I missed some of these videos, so I'm grateful for the links to them.
Sentiment placement is challenging for me, so Jaycee’s tips about where to add the sentiments were especially helpful !
WOW! So many great tips!!! Rule of thirds is a great tip! Both vertical and horizontal.

His tip of liking to do sentiments last was most helpful.
They were all helpful but sentiment placement helped the most.
The rule of thirds is very helpful.
My favorite tip was how the flowers behave!!!

I learned the most from tip #1 and #2. Great, informative video!
The tip I like is about the flowers , researching how the flowers grow with the way the leaves grow around the flowers ..

I use a lot of florals so tip 6 about placement and layering was my fav.
I liked Tip No. 5 about converging lines.

The flora placement sections make it clear to see how to effectively arrange the floral elements to best effect.

Rule of thirds! I forget about this. But all the tips are very helpful
Placement of flowers to point toward the sentiment.
Learned lots of good stuff
I have just started watching videos on card making so I can't pick just one tip as I found them all useful from a beginners point of view
We are so glad you found the video helpful! 😊
It would be nice to contrast the “right” layout for the composition with a “wrong” layout to emphasize the difference.
Rule of 3rds or sentiment placement is tied
Image search my focal point. Also have one focal point.
