Man, I can’t wait for the next video. Those turned out amazing by the way can’t wait for more content. I know it’s hard to get videos out. Just really enjoy your content, buddy.
First off, thank you, thank you, thank you for the Trans Am content. How. KLEIN have a 10 in 1 screwdriver that perfect for those backwards speed nut. You use it without a actual bit in the octagon sleeve. The octagon sleeve fit in that speed nut like it was made for it.
Padded materials are the way to go for good results. I could not find proper burgundy headliner material for C-pillar trims in my Mercury, so I used thin foam and non-lined suede. Problem was that the glue soaked through the foam and pressing them to adhere properly left indentations in the foam that wouldn't pop back up.
Those panels look incredible. That guy from Detroit who does the GM videos said that the expensive door panels typically had shag carpeting. I suppose that dampens sound, reduces scuffs, and can look good in some cases, but is a lot of design work.
If you want to keep the 2 tone colorway look up a local sewing business. They can replicate this easily and for cheap. Left some patio furniture out and ruined the seats, local lady redid them in a hour for $100
Black 30 min epoxy panel bond from the automotive paint store for the top plastic piece... Need the special gun and a bag of nozzles. I use that on everything. Leave nozzle on after. Next time you need it, twist off 'set' epoxied nozzle & put a new one on and go again.Weeks or months later... I swear by it.
Well it looks like I'm going to be searching for that L piece molding for the next year or so. I don't know any other way to make a nice border between the fabric.
Matt… From your tahiti video from 4 years ago “steering clunk” how are those eBay parts holding up till now? Considering purchasing them myself for my 06 Silverado.
YESS FINALLY 😭 THE TRANS AM IS BACK 🐓
100% answered the questions I had about fixing my '84 anniversary edition door cards. Thanks!!!!!! Your videos have helped me a lot on my build.
Hawks motorsports sells re-pop top rails for door cards. They fit like OEM on mine.
Looks awesome. If you can find a company that can embroider a firebird logo on the suede area, that would really make it pop.
Was re watching all your trans am videos wishing for a new one and you delivered
I love that you stuck with the trans am. Enjoy seeing all the videos. Keep up the great work. Happy holidays!

Nice job with the panels
Yes! Early Christmas gift!
Very very nice. Dye the map pocket black and call it good.
Those snap ring pliers are exactly what I used on the speed nuts to assemble new top rails to new door cards.
I always use a set of needle nose vice grips to gently grab the outside of the nut from the top
Snap On actually does make a tool for those trim nuts. I can try to find the part number if you really want to buy it
Great !!! Job Matt they look Great 👍🏼
Cant wait too see them in the car
I did the exact thing for my Camaro. If I remember correctly the cheaper board was like 6$ each at Home Depot and works great

We used 2-part epoxy to glue the hard plastics to the backing board on our Astra door panels. Needed to clamp for 24 hours in a warm room.
Awesome video Matt. Thank you

Did you think about doing it all in suede? Different shades? Maybe gray on black?
