It’s only because the bloons attacked the monkeys first this was simply retaliation for destroying the monkey villages. The bloons needed more land because of overpopulation issues, so they pushed monkeys out of land and began to take more until the monkeys were left with a small city. The monkeys decided to fight back and reconquer their land, but of course the bloons didn’t want this so it began a long bloody struggle in 2007 which is still going on to date. At least that’s how I imagine it
