Jeremy's prototype was actually introduced into service in 1963, so there were a few years of steam propulsion left in British Railways when he came out. He's just one year younger than Salty's prototype.
At least Hit Entertainment wanted to keep the models but couldn’t due to budgetary problems, whereas Mattel does not want to keep the CGI animation and instead wants to switch to flash animation to get kids immediately tempted to Thomas, and probably also to deliberately piss us old fans off. RIP Thomas, we love you!

3:48 Why does Mattel give so many of the foreign characters buffers when it’s unnecessary, yet rarely paints the buffers black in merchandise? They even show that they can paint buffers but they just paint them red. Why do they like red buffers?

Trackmaster Gordon got stuck in my sister's hair when we were young after she rolled over in her sleep when she took it to bed, and the result was the embodiment of the fandom's reaction to the reboot/Season 25. I can still hear the horrible screeching it made as it tried to rip my sister's hair from her scalp.

I grew up watching Season 7 and 8 back when I was kid watching this show on PBS Kids and I also watched Season 9, 10, 11, and 12 when I realized the show is changing to CGI because of the moving people and moving faces on the engines. And then when I saw Season 13, 14, 15, and 16, I was shocked to see that the show went to full CGI and that’s what I knew everything has changed. I used to like those CGI seasons of Thomas & Friends, but nowadays, they’re kinda boring to me. I prefer Season 17-21 or the model series, especially the classic ones.

I remember watching CGI Thomas as a kid, because I was born in the early 2000s. But I remember, that I specifically liked the models so much better. There was something about the realism, and the fact it was just one voice narrating, made it feel so much more like you were being told a story. You weren't being talked down upon. Just being told a story
Although I had problems with the CGI series, as a whole I thought it was pretty good for the most part. And even though it ended on a really sour note with BWBA, I would still take it over the reboot.

Actually, i didn't mind the rivets on Thomas. It (almost) makes him look like a real engine.
5:21, since Murdoch, a BR 9F, is in the show, it's most likely in his debut episode was in the mid-to-late 60's, now I think it's aleast the 80's.
5:22 In the Model Series canon, the events of Season 10 took place in the late 70s/Early 80s. Because SEASON. FREAKING. THREE. Took place in the 1960s.
You can blame Mattel because Rebecca was going to be introduced in a different way in season 21 however BWBA took over and cut 8 episodes and who knows how Nia would have been introduced if Arc Productions didn't go bankrupt.

The Boeing (707 was the first) and jet engines started popping up in the 50s. So, Jeremy, can in fact be accurate. Just look up 1950s airliners and you’ll see what I mean. These planes look very similar to our modern ones.
Yes, many planes were still used propellers in this era. Jet was new and provided the means to travel over the oceans and at higher altitudes. 🙃 im sure someone who knows more about these jets can say more than I can!

I've been watching and somewhat enjoyed CGI Thomas for a long time, and I NEVER knew about the sudden...changes to it! I mean, when were the engines able to actually move their body?
