Well, not really, I think there's a big tendency of us drummers missing the point right there. Drumming is for making music. Of course, nothing wrong with choosing to be a solo drummer and surely, as far as mastering the instrument is concerned, Rene is one of the best. And although I'm not a fan of Jordison at all, I feel the need to point out there's a big difference between developing control over an instrument and really making music that can reach people's feelings, that can move them.
Not entirely true. Akira Jimbo has been my favorite drummer since I was kid, and Slipknot was big when I was in school. There are still people with taste out there.
@onefromthemillion I'm sure you can understand why kids think that, though. René's style is much more cerebral (I'm sure no one would want him for their metal band) and Slipknot fans aren't really looking for depth. They want noise and they want flash, and Jordison sure can deliver! Give me René any day, though...
Spectacular! Really incredible 🎶🎵🥁
still love your work!!
Thanks! I still do.
Mid 90ties I met René in Hoofddorp, the Netherlands. This video was an open application to Sting.
Just discovering him, (me being only 17 years old, and from the Netherlands also) it's as joy to watch him play!
Ti ho scoperto da poco ,e devo dire che sei fantastico , bravissimo ,non sei una fonte di ispirazione sei di più, sei unico , grande batterista.
