The GM 1000 will really nut off on gold. Even tiny stuff with very consistent positive sharp crisp signals as you wave over it. Those signals you were getting were very wishy washy & likely a bit of hot stuff in the bed rock. Not sure how high you had it cranked up but don't be shy to turn down the sensitivity as it will still ping on a good gold signal as opposed to that bedrock crappy signals. Happy hunting. :)
