this is soviet russia we are talking about XD their philosophy for reliability was literally have it break down a lot... but extremely easy to repair XD heck the T-34's didn't have fully enclosed rivets on their tracks yet they somehow were able to keep the rivets from falling out

But I don't know, it's a huge feature of Russian engineering for things to be easy to fix. This thing fired up and drove like it had been sitting around for 7 months, not 70 years. That's quite impressive and something many other nations don't appreciate about Russian engineering.

It was another video I'd watched of a long standing T-34 being brought back to life in spite of sitting for 7 decades. This video does indeed feature a an ISU-152 but also has an engine fire up in spite of it's extreme age. It's just so very impressive. I also assumed it was an SU-152 as you said but I triple checked, it's actually the ISU-152. They're so similar it was hard to tell.
Looks like they tightened up the track tension after the first driving session. If that was all they had to do in the meantime, it was in pretty good order.
Very cool. Love old machines. The tech might not be modern, but the build quality of old stuff is usually much better. The Russians build some great stuff. My favorite truck for example is a Kraz 255b. Wish I could get one, but the DMV here in the states, won't let you drive one on the road...

its a goddamn tank. they fidnt just use steel to make the combusyion chambers and valve hoses
Diesel is a lubricant. Worst case it gums up and gets a bit sticky but everything would be well coated in grease/oil/diesel
