  • @dojnishi
    @dojnishi 2 года назад +18

    guys, as a senior ux engineer, I advice you to make things simple. This is maybe fun but it makes no sense as an overall result. First of all, images should complement the message and the content. First design is (who knows about what) because either content or image is not telling me anything. Even, if it is about some sort of adventure those doodles does not complement the visuals at all. If you really want to use it, use just phew lines or circles. People scan, they dont pay attention to details, add just small things to fill the space. To the Author- Cool, that you make awareness to those things, but be more precise when you showing something. For me this tutorial seems to be done not by professional UX Designer, cause it makes no sense...

    • @Fernando-ry5qt
      @Fernando-ry5qt 2 года назад +13

      Not to mention its a f-ing nightmare for the frontend dev to flow those images correctly between resolutions...

    • @zboinek
      @zboinek 2 года назад

      @@Fernando-ry5qt That's what I thought. @DesignCourse, maybe in next tutorial you'll show how to implement this in responsible design? That would be helpfull

      @@Fernando-ry5qt this is not actually hard to do.

      Because I think he is more of a developer rather than a professional UI/UX designer.
      As a UX/UI designer, I can also say that this is not only bad for the UX(as is just noise distracting from the message), but also for UI. It just looks bad, random, unprofessional, fiverish...
      He is a cool guy and I follow his coding tutorials, and for a developer, his designs are really good. But...when I was at uni(graphic design) I remember a lot of students who could create a better UI. Probably not in 5 minutes of course. But why do we promote the idea that those things done in 5 minutes are "ok" anyway?
      That being said, I always find it difficult to apply accents to a generic design without branding. It just feels like it has no substance. And this is because it doesn't. There's no brand identity there to work with. No uniqueness. It is what it is. Just something quickly put together in 5 minutes. And you can see it.

    • @andreahoffman8152
      @andreahoffman8152 Год назад

      I totally agree. Need to follow branding, not just "add some interesting stuff". My design is always based on concept, not just random.

    very cool..one question though, how do you translate these assets into code? given that these assets need to be specifically positioned. Love the videos by the way!

    • @dannycabrera8466
      @dannycabrera8466 2 года назад +3

      Either use percentages or viewport width ( vw ) units so they move according to the width of the container or window. Look up object-fit. That's what I mostly use.

    • @copypasta1585
      @copypasta1585 2 года назад +2

      You could sent the assets' position to absolute and position them that way. They wouldn't affect/be affected by document flow

    • @ZuLKiNG
      @ZuLKiNG 2 года назад +4

      Seriously. I'm sitting here wondering how the hell some poor hapless coder is going to do this in code once the designer has played "paint". Sometimes UI stuff seems like the difference between IKEA and fine carpentry where it's just impractical as nice as it'd be.

    • @digitalbath4741
      @digitalbath4741 2 года назад

      @@ZuLKiNG yeah, hence my question. there are ways to implement these designs into code, but it will feel very hacky. i guess you could get away with it if your working with Webflow or something, the right tool for the right job i suppose.
