    Great tool, the only thing I'm missing there is "locking" certain colors and then generating the rest of the colors to complement the fixed colors. When I already know my primary color, but want to choose others, I would just lock it and then randomize the rest. Other tools for color themes have this and for me, that's probably the only thing that gives them the advantage. Otherwise very nice and clean, saved to my bookmarks!

      @@juxtopposed I was actually thinking of this aswell and made a comment but didn't realize this was already here. I think this is a good idea as well or even be able to just randomize just one of the things individually as well as all at the same time. Different way of doing the same thing but either would work great. Great work though. Cheers!

    • @skivvytv6229

      @@juxtopposed Would also suggest showing the pattern through which the colors are generated as a little image next to the recommended color schemes, makes it more intuitive to understand than just reading "square" or "complimentary" etc. but idk might be stupid suggestion just something I thought of while watching the video :)

    • @GreggTri
      @GreggTri Год назад +1

      @@juxtopposed Hey, I actually just recently thought about this again but you should look into potentially creating a VsCode extension (or dev package?) that could auto-inject the hexcode colors into a scss variable or tailwind css variable. as long as someone sets their site up with the variables they can randomize the color palette to whatever they so choose. Something to think about.

    Now the main concept of the video about palettes was amazing and helpful, but what managed to trump that even more was the fact that vars, themes and the function of HSL exist. I've never know about these and they're sooo usual. 11/10 video overall..

  • @SkyyySi

    If you point a client to a colours-picking tool, they will inevitably choose clashing colours. Even if you warn them, or try to mutate the pallet so that it works, they will insist that you use exactly these colours. Later, a client or confidant of theirs will comment that the colours look off and it will magically be all your fault.

After watching countless UI/UX Website Design Videos, I realized how much more work must be done to level up my website. This app is perfect !!!! How beautiful your website is, the colour picker on Windows, Firefox, is just infuriating. Have you tried (or thought) about making a custom colour picker for the website, way more elegant than the Windows default one?
    And here some more useful things, I'd love:
    - Renaming your export, so all files have that name (kind of like naming the palette);
    - A link to the site with this palette applied in the txt file when exporting.

    Eeexactly. For a person who's not that good with colors, it would take hours for us just to find the right combination of colors. Glad I found this vid.

    0:10 THIS IS WHAT I NEED! I need a tutorial on how to get that initial look going.
    I feel I can design alright, but getting that theme together for me is by far the hardest part - how to transform the ideals, mission, services, target audience, constrains of a project or company into visual language. Once you get that - damn, it's just pure flow, because essentially you're reusing the same fonts, elements, structure rules across the board. Kinda like a Fibonacci sequence, where many of the basic parts add up together to create the whole visual experience, where each segment works well in isolation, as well being a part of the bigger picture...
    Please make an in-depth video on: fonts, spacing, website/app structure, images, graphics, button styles etc. as a theme/guide for a project.

    I mostly program backend (and try to avoid any type of styling at all times :D), and yet I cannot stress enough how excited this video got me. Great job on creating this tool and this video!

      Same! It is always a struggle with frontend. I see how this could benefit alongside with Tailwind to make webpages that hide the fact that a backend-dev did it! 😅

    This idea came up to me recently so I thought after I finish school in 2 week I'm going to code it. Sad to realize someone has already done. But tbh your version is sooooo cool. Good job on that

    Almost perfect ^^ - I just love the website you build - I would adore it even more if it had the option to lock specific colours and randomly generate matching options for the rest :)

    This is the best colour palette generating tool I have found. I used so many others, but they don't really preview the palette. Thank you!
