Angelina Jordan | HEROes at Las Vegas Concert | Military, Veterans, First Responders | 2/29/2024

- Before Angelina Jordan's first ever, and historic, Las Vegas concert performance on Feb. 29, 2024, a few Angels* hoped to donate some tickets. Goals of the donations were to 1) Inspire / create new angels - as we feel there is no better way to do this than to experience Angelina performing LIVE. 2) Knowing that a sell-out was unlikely, to fill some seats. 3) Generate additional awareness about the concert.
We discovered a wonderful non-profit organization, Veterans Ticket Foundation (www.vettix.org), whose primary mission is to honor members of the military, veterans, first responders, and their families, by connecting them to donated tickets to events such as concerts. We decided to donate tickets via Vettix.
The Veterans Ticket Foundation informed us that they reach more than 78,000 veterans & active military in the Las Vegas area. They said that a lottery system would be used to distribute the tickets, which, important to us, meant that many of those veterans and active members in the area likely became aware of Angelina’s concert.
In addition to the goals above, we greatly appreciate the Foundation’s mission and so felt a final goal was met, that of honoring veterans and active military, for their service and sacrifices.
One wonderful aspect of Vettix is that they encourage ticket recipients to provide photos of themselves at the event, indicate when they served (or if still active), and especially to give feedback about the event they attended. The photos and information of those who did provide such feedback is included in the video.
And, as noted at the end of the video, we say:

This is the first video I watched after a 2 week vacation from the internet. As often happens, with anything involving Angelina and her angels, I am teary eyed. Thanks to all who have served our country, especially those who have given the ultimate sacrifice. I am so proud to be a part of the Angelina angel community who are inspired to make the world a better place. I look forward to the community growing, to spread more love.

This was a really great idea Steve and I am glad you told us how it all worked through a lottery. Perhaps if possible we could expand this by also getting permission to put out a donation box at the theater entrance for a charity of Angelina's choice.or not a box but something that would accomplish that sort of thing. Buy a pair of shoes for a shoe less child, just as an idea.

What an incredible collaboration with Vettix. This was a fantastic experience, watching and reading (of course listening, duh). 😆 My heart goes out all who have served and their families for staying by their sides through it all. Great performance but Angelina could have included also the bridge part of the original version to her rendition.. Then it woud have been even better, I'm pretty sure!
My guess on why she did this was to give the band a time to shine but also to help save her voice. Afterall, she had to sing almost 40 songs between 2 shows. That is a lot!
@@rw716 Yes, I agree. She probably wanted to save her voice. The bridge part for this song is quite demanding for the singer but I don't doubt at all that she could sing the whole original version very well if there wasn't any need to save her voice for the other songs.

Angelina dropped her latest song on May 5th 2023 it is the first song off her new album which will be out soon.
