The beginning of this episode where you're all talking about those beginning years of teaching was something I really needed to hear. I've been homeschooling for 2 years, but the year before that I had been teaching 7/8th grade at a local Christian school. My main experience was a couple years of teaching preschool. I felt called to that school, they agreed, and there I was: a new teacher. I was making my own lesson plans every day with books that I had to decide what and how much to teach, and trying to accomplish something without having a clue what they needed to master by the year's end. I only lasted the one year because the admin felt that I wasn't ready for the job. I concluded that classroom teaching wasn't for me. I wonder what would have happened had someone sat me down and gave me a structure in which to work. I've learned more about being a teacher from Memoria Press than that classroom.

We need to hear an interview with Paul’s mom. 🙂
We'll see if we can get her on the show! :)
Thanks!
