The construction of the Gordie Howe International Bridge is a major infrastructure project spanning both the United States and Canada. The bridge is named after Gordie Howe, a Canadian ice hockey player who was one of the greatest players in the history of the sport.
The project involves a significant workforce, including engineers, construction workers, project managers, environmental specialists, and various other professionals. These workers come from both sides of the border and collaborate to ensure the successful completion of the bridge.

Somewhere there’s a whole building full of engineers sweating every detail…
When you compare the size of the men working to the size of the structure it is one massive build. Those folks standing out on the edge are definitely a lot braver than me.
Yes the size is amazing!
Almost there just a few more sections to go! Thanks for the fine closeups
It's my pleasure!
@@michaelanthonyvideosany projected date for the final join up, any celebration planned and what is the estimated time from start to finish
@@russellstewart5414 I'm sure there will be some type of celebration.
About to have 10,000 Bridge projects up for bid all across the USA so this definitely impresses that someone is ready for that.
Agh! Getting so close to connecting! I’ve been following the progress of this since years before it was even started. SO anxious to see it finally completed. Along with a number of other projects connected to the rebirth of Detroit. I grew up in the 80’s and 90’s in Michigan, in maybe Detroit’s worst years. I basically never even set foot in Detroit proper growing up, despite it being the ONE really major city in my home state, because everyone on both sides of my family just considered it too dangerous, run-down, and with nothing worth note to visit it for. And they were probably right as far as taking a little kid there. Or an adult really too. But I always wished the one big city in my state could be a real gem that caught the eyes of the world. I feel like it sort of was the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. And there are still remnants and ruins of that if you look. But from about 1950 until the early 2000’s there was just a slow decay and total downfall. It has so much potential though.
The city has come a long way! Thank you for watching and come back to visit sometime!
I'm from southwestern Pennsylvania and I have family in the Detroit area. So the past 3 years, I've driven up to Michigan for some family visits and sightseeing. Detroit is a nice city. There seems to be parallels in Detroit's revitalization and that of Pittsburgh, the major city closest to me.
@@davidv2700 Detroit has had an amazing revitalization. Where do you go for sightseeing?
@@michaelanthonyvideos every year, I will usually go to Belle Isle and will often go north to Frankenmuth and the upper peninsula. I also have family. So it's nice to visit them.
@@davidv2700 Those spots are nice to visit. We love Frankenmuth!
Get the golden spike ready !!!
Yes!!!
Beautiful!
Back in the 70's, I did rebar in Beer Precast Plant, Toronto. We did a precast prestressed, post tensioned bridge on Isslington Ave.
I can't I.agine what the windchill factor must be for all these workers out there tiday, well done!
Thanks for posting, but, now my back hurts!
Thank you! That must have been a lot of rebar for that plant.
@@michaelanthonyvideos yep, I still have my pliers and real, permanent arthritis in my hand comes with the pension checks, lol!
@@WeazelJaguar Good thing you get a pension.
Amazing what these workers have done they should be so proud of what they have done
Really looking forward to them pouring the ramps.
Such an amazing structure. All the hard work or those men and women that help put all that together it amazes me what humans are capable of. Great vid awesome views
Absolutely!
Excellent video! Really enjoyed it! Incredible build! Amazing what Man can do when working together!
Glad you enjoyed it!
That was one of the best vids yet!
Thank you so much!
I see nothing but hard working honourable men...............
Women have been working on it since the start also. Don't be blind watching the videos and interviews. Thanks.
Another awsome video Michael. Thank you!
My pleasure Paul!
Was this the first time you shot straight down the bridge?! Fantastic! They know you're trustworthy. Great work again. Thanks
I'm glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching Sue!
Actually I have gone through the bridge a few times. Other clone channels have copied my video compositions since then.
One of my first fly throughs: ruclips.net/video/X0S268uhAUM/видео.html
Great flights !👍👍
Thanks 👍 Blueman!
I wonder how much rebar is being used, and think that has to be all tied together....i wonder how much movement there will be mid span.....any video on how the poured the cable towers.....
Tons of rebar...
Am I seeing this correctly, pre-cast concrete on the Canada side and we are pouring cement on the D side?
Hi Brian, both sides use pre cast concrete. The Detroit side is in the curing phase.
Does anyone know why this particular location was chosen for the bridge?
Good vid! Did you need to get permission to fly the drone over the bridge? First time I've seen you do that.
Is the bridge moving or the drone?
It was very windy so the camera shakes when the drone is sitting in one spot.
Are we down to 4 sections? or 5 sections?
5 sections, two 15 meter sections on each side, then the 11 meter custom midspan connector.
@@ChrisSeliga Is the last section a slip devise? Does the bridge shrink and swell by inches as the weather changes? Temp?
@@kkarllwt I don't know. As of right now, the only "expansion joints" I see is where the bridge connects to the roadway on either side.
🇺🇸🤝🇨🇦
🚧✌
And as soon as it’s being used ; salt will be dumped on it to melt snow
Hopefully not. That will corrode the bridge.
@@michaelanthonyvideos - true - but all the access roads get salted ?
But maybe with the mild winters we have been having , less salt will be needed
@@psychiatry-is-eugenics The winters are nothing like they used to be.
@@psychiatry-is-eugenics Actually maybe they will use sand on the bridge.
I get weak legs every time I see these videos
😄 I don't know how they do it.
Heating and housing. Required during cold temperatures. Wet cure otherwise. They must have long hoses for the water!!
The water is in those large bins and lifted up with the crane.
@@michaelanthonyvideosIBC totes. I catch rainwater from my roof in these for my garden and lawn 😊
@@wesadrian6981 That's a good idea!
Neat dudes!!! Maybe I will drive over it some day!! And bring my passport!! Would love 2 C em build a bridge like that here on The Ohio River!! But they are 2 lazy!! And good 4 nothing but dung!!
There's a nice bridge going in to Ashland, Kentucky.
@@michaelanthonyvideos Doesn't help Dungtown and Covington!!
@@williamfleaher5834 Covington has a bridge to Cincinnati.

Music is too loud. and hard on the ears.
I don't know what to tell ya. There is a volume button...
Great video, horrible choice of music,
Thanks for watching!
Impressive work! Those guys are very brave. Thank you Michael for showing us the details of how a modern suspension bridge is built. This is knowledge that will re-surface in my brain each time I pass on a bridge in the future.
Thank you badass!
Why are the workers not having a sit-in to protest the starving Eskimos ? What is wrong with them ??
