My brother had one of the CAI imports. It was one they put that black rhino liner looking spray on. Took us FOREVER to strip it off but eventually the stock looked as beautiful as it was supposed to.
It’s on the list of equipment for the new shop space. As well as welding a long vat to boil rusted over guns in. Gotta do it by hand while I’m in transition unfortunately.
My barrel was poking out of the end of the box when I got my carcano. As terrible as it is, it still beats the 3 m1 carbines thrown in a box together, not separated in any way, and without any cardboard, bubble wrap, or padding of any sort. That was my last order for anything over 299 from them.
I would have pissed also. That’s the worst RTI shipping horror story I’ve heard yet. We REALLY want to buy one of the FN49 they are offering but don’t know if we wanna drop that much on a single RTI risk
When these first came in you could buy the gun separately or buy the gun with 50 rounds of steel cased 7.62x45 ammo. I chose the gun and ammo combo. Fired 5 rounds to test the action, then ordered the chamber insert kit from Numrich Gun Parts. Don't know if they still have them.
Looks like the goats took the wire wheel to your gun ... IVe gotten a couple and seems like it’s totally hit or miss on RTI. If they weren’t asking such high prices for what the got Id buy more......
@@oneparticularharbor144 yea an they just jacked their prices up with the new website change. They supposedly got better quality Carcanos but I think I’m done with those for a while
I avg 2/3 for luck with RTI stuff. Was working on the shot out m95 today, cut it back to 17 inches, and it has rifling up to there, but only half as tall as it once was. I'd figure it could still spin some fmj alright.
@@BigBoyRabbit420 if you do, be sure to use a modern spitzer bullet loaded up, not the long round nose cylinder type. It's more stable from shorter barrels. I'd still like to get a useable m95 long rifle, but ain't gonna chase it. All the 88/90's I get, are good, and I rather those sights for any distance anyways.
I am gonna pick up my VZ 52 on Tuesday or Friday. Unfortunately, I paid $399 before they had a price drop. Hopefully, I got a better condition one. It is bundled with a Lebel 1886 and Gras long rifle.
Oh you got one of the Lebels!!! We had to pick up a byf 98k which used up our acquisitions allotment for this month but we will be reserving that $699 or however much RTI decides to list the next Lebels at. The Lebel is high up on the acquisitions list.
Yeah. In one of your videos, I mentioned how me and a friend went to the FFL to pick up the 4 rifles I ordered and his Lebel. His Lebel is made in 1890 and Tulle manufactured. He didn't expect any good but he was very satisfied. All parts and all matching. Just surface rust. I already know what I got from the 4 rifles but this next bundle with the lebel? I don't know. VZ 52, gras long rifle, Lebel 1886 and Japanese Type 14 pistol will be at the FFL.@@BigBoyRabbit420
@@tomc6255 oh boy a nambu!!! That’s one of those we don’t have. It’s on the acquisitions list and I’ve had a handful of opportunities to pick one up over the last decade but never did. I actually want the type 94 so I can do the thing where you press the bar on the side of the pistol an it will discharge the chamber.
It’s was decent. Had a small amount of pitting mid barrel but the rest is clean an shiny. It performed decently at the range. Go check out that video if you haven’t!
Oh yea I was struggling to get into RTIs world class shipping standards using such a flimsy blade. Next time maybe I’ll try my Gladius or Jian an see if that helps. 😂😂
I’m not that savage. It was clean around the neck, BP drop lights out fast. We are starting filming for an adventure channel next month. Can’t show any blood but I am an extreme outdoorsman so should be fun to watch
We do too. They don’t use any amount to make any difference in shipping so it’s just packing confetti. Like sending your friend a birthday card with a half cup of glitter hidden inside.
@@BigBoyRabbit420 yes that shit gets everywhere haha. Opening outside is definitely the way to go. I bet they laugh every time they put it in there. Like sprinkling fairy glitter in the box. How’s the bore I thought about getting one for that price. But I would like one in 7.62x39
@@Wicked505 I haven’t cleaned the bore yet. It’s too dirty to get an impression out the box. I wait to clean the bore till the very end. If I clean it first and find out it has a garbage bore last because if it does I’ll not do as good of a job restoring everything else. And converting these is the easiest of all weapons to convert. I hate that RUclips won’t let me show y’all the insanely simple conversion but when we convert it I CAN show y’all the insert and give you all the specks and HOW to find it. Just not where
Back in the 90s I ordered mine and my VZ 52 pistol from Century Arms and they were in like new condition.
My brother had one of the CAI imports. It was one they put that black rhino liner looking spray on. Took us FOREVER to strip it off but eventually the stock looked as beautiful as it was supposed to.
I can’t wait to see it after the work is done. Might want to get a carding wheel to clean up the metal.

This is also one of my favorite military surplus firearms. I look forward to the final product
I’ve been waiting a decade to get my mits on one of these so I will be personally working on it to the full scope of my abilities.
I love the content. I could do without the intro…

Most RTI stuff should be 1/2 the cost of what they charge.
With the amount of work and time it takes to get some of these weapons back operational I agree.
