    I have one of these on my "to-fix" list. The bridge came off and needs to be re-glued. I may take your lead and go with 8 strings rather than 10.

    The physics scare me. A steel string has about 2X tension compared to a nylon string. Is the neck a bit thicker than a ukulele? Truss Rod? With 4X net string tension compared to a tenor ukulele something’s gotta give…
    But I love the steel string sound!
