Happy New Year to you and your family. Great to see and hear a banjo build. Lovely lovely sound . All the best on your recovery.
Sending you best wishes from Wales. We really enjoy your posts and your music. Love to all your Family and speedy recovery. ❤
Good to see you back in action!! Lovely instrument :)
Thanks for sharing. So interesting that you do not only craft beautiful banjos but play them so beautifully, as well.
Beauty, Aaron !
A beautiful instrument. Take care of those hands. They are a conduit of an insane amount of talent.
933? Wow! Number 1000 is getting near. Start thinking of ideas for that milestone. Happy new year!
What adhesive?
Titebond
Yeah manufacturers not putting the buttons on is just…. Weird? Thanks for the vid tho
All the best to each of you and do have a relaxing and special holiday season. You do so much for so many. Take time for you, A., N., and H….that’s a good thing. ✨
Thank you! You too!
So interesting! Thank you
Glad you liked it!
You're.a gem, Aaron. Get your rest, enjoy the sabbatical. Happy holidays to you and the family.
Thank you, I appreciate it!
take care and thank you for your work. Prayers for your health from France. Merry Christmas.
Best explanation of these that I’ve ever seen. Thank you!!
Gorgeous! I have an old baritone uke, and yours sounds just magical here
Heal well, Aaron. The best of Holidays to you and your family. Well deserved rest.
I need a 6' goat skin head for my Gibson. Any ideas?
@@harpin4God you have to buy a piece of goatskin and diy or pay someone to do it.
Have a speedy recovery Aaron and a Merry Christmas both. Mel
Love the colour of the Yew. Sounds really clear and sweet. Great build.:Thanks Larry for the demo. Have a great week.
Sweet! Keep the posts coming! Looking forward to what you will be posting during your " interlude"!👍
Sounds great.
Sending healing vibes your way, Aaron! I would love if you could comment on whether beautiful grain patterns and curl affect instrument tonal quality in a negative way? Is straight grain better, or does it just boil down to adjusting the build and bracing in order to accommodate?
Praying for a complete recovery! And winter rest!
Love it. Thanks for sharing
Sounds awesome! The Yew looks spectacular! I recently got an English Yew tenor from Pete Howlett and it also sounds great! 😀👍
Take care Aaron, really enjoy your builds and videos. If I have learnt anything over my experience, then rest and following medical advice is worth its weight in gold, in the long run. Enjoy your family time sabbatical and get plenty of rest through the festive season. It will soon be spring. May I ask, banjo action being high at the 12th, Can the height of the bridge be adjusted or is it more complicated.
Hi Aaron, I hope your hands heal quickly and that you enjoy your well-earned sabbatical. Having pretty much been through all of your wonderful ukulele books, I'd be interested to know if you have any ideas for another ukulele tutorial book at some point in the future.
Hi' rest up! I am an amateur ukulele builder. I love how you do research on historical ukuleles. How are the historical ukuleles braced and how does it differ from how you usually brace your ukulele?
All the best for a full recovery 🙏
Rest up. Heal up. I’ll be saving up for one of your ukuleles someday. Hope you have a wonderful holiday season! By the way, I agree with the other suggestion, I love hearing about tone woods, especially domestic woods. Thanks!
Hope your sabbatical goes well. Looking forward to the q&a session. Love hearing your opinions on wood choices and building.
Yes, would love a video on domestic wood differences in tone and sound characteristics. Awesome job!
Heal up! I was about to ask about the sound characteristics of the different woods and combinations, especially since I think my tenor was a bit of an odd combination of cedar and maple, but I saw below that its a high demand question!
I love my banjo that you made so much and really am enjoying learning from your clawhammer book I got and downloaded from ya'll. So glad to hear you are taking a sabbatical and I hope you have a cozy winter. I don't know if this would be applicable for your question and answer video but I would love to know your thoughts about the sound characteristics that different woods give to instruments and what you look for when selecting wood. Thank you!
Thanks for the explanation 👍
Steel or nylon?
Beautiful and sounds great
Great wood combination!
Thanks for sharing this! I'm a noob, but I am repairing two identical Harmony 1920's banjolele. One I am stringing up with High G Nylgut and the other with black Ernie Ball strings.
What type of lathe is that
Just an old Delta/Rockwell. Can barely fit a 12" rim on it
Neat! Is the hook and loop pad with elastic something you made as well?
no, it is from Mirka, I think
Great Video . With the original switch , to turn off the table saw , a person would put their face in the path of the blade . But with the switch you installed , you can switch off the saw out of the path of the blade . . If the saw is used in a commercial environment , consider connecting both switches in series . That way the lawyers can't claim the accident was caused because you modified the off switch . . .
Heyy am a left hand ukulele player and am thinking of getting a ukulele with pins can I put it in reverse no prob
Really love your work and I think you repurpose wood for your instruments? Always beautiful combinations of woods. I love the binding in the soundhole. It looks great as an alternative to a rosette! May I ask who is the ebay seller that you purchase those nice tailpieces from? Thanks very much.
Search for “Tailpiece for mandolin with screws” on eBay and look for a seller that starts with “Javier”. Thanks!
I just came across your channel. Beautiful work on your instruments. May I ask how you did that binding?
Hello Dave- Sorry, I can’t explain how to make rope binding in a comment section. There are plenty of books and stuff online about it though. Thanks!
nice; and hey no braces! Hope you are healed up.
Thanks! Not really, I’ll probably wear those from now on.
That’s a beauty for sure. Great size and wood looks lovely. Have a great week.
" If the oak comes out before the ash, we''l have a splash If the ash comes out before the oak, we'll have a soak"
You have inspired me to build scouts for my grandkids. My first two are white oak (neck, back, sides and front). The fretboards are curly ash. They are very cheerful. The next two will be cherry and black walnut. The bending was easy, but still the overall instrument was about as much work as a waisted concert or tenor.
Handsome little scout! I love the way the headstock ties all the wood choices together. 👍
