The first thing I noticed about this reel is its weight ruclips.net/user/postUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . I wouldn't say it was uncomfortable but it was a little heavier than other similarly sized reels. However, that didn't deter my enjoyment of how smooth this reel is. I spooled it with 20lb. Tuf-Line XP and it's perfect for what I use it for. I have it paired with an 8'6" Medium/Fast Okuma SST Salmon/Steelhead rod. The combination is perfect for casting and even drifting. I used the reel all day and didn't experience any arm or hand fatigue except when fighting a few fish! The bail is solid and feels strong when engaging by reeling and manually closing the bail by hand. The large rubber handle grip is very comfortable. It's got a powerful drag, silky smooth reeling, and feels very comfortable in the hands. I recommend it!
I have a Piscifun Viper X 4000, Piscifun Honor 3000 and Piscifun Honor XT 4000 reel. I have submerged the three reels in saltwater and also when a wave passes it stirs sand and it enters the reels. My personal experience with Piscifun Viper X 4000 after two years the reel is still working perfectly. With Piscifun Honor 3000 after three years it works perfectly too. I can recommend the Viper X as the Honor is discontinued. In the other hand the Piscifun Honor XT, the main bearing broke and I had to change it and I can't recommend it. I understand that the Piscifun Flame is just for freshwater. At this moment i'm using a Penn Spinfisher VI 3500 which I also fully submerge and when I open it for maintenance I find no water and sand inside.
I know these are your reel opinion but personally I think your missing out on a bunch of different options. The spheros and Saragossa are awesome reels especially for the price point. and the fierce and pursuit by Penn are way better than the kast king. I’m not a brand loyal kinda fisherman but Okuma has better and stronger reels like the Azores also. Do a updated review and I’m sure you will get way better results from that video. Tight lines!!!!
Thanks for your feedback the hungry fisherman (love the name, BTW!). We will ensure to consider the brands and options you mentioned when we update our reviews and video. Happy fishing 🎣
Top picks are subjective but I agree this one seems way off. How is the Shimano Baitrunner D lower down the list than the Okuma Sidrose? and Spheros is nowhere to be seen. Also, guys, when you turn the handle the rotor turns not the spool, that is why they are called fixed spool reels.
@@FishingPax daiwa bg magsealed is not seling in US, is like daiwa saltist for 200 dolars, probably best saltwater fishing reel ever in that price range
Uh no no no. Daiwa saltiga dogfight best spinning reel ever made, $1200, then a van staal, (any model) then slammer 3, then a saltist mq, then a shimano saragosa, then a daiwa bgmq. That's a much better and accurate list. The daiwa saltiga in any capacity (especially the dogfight model) will blow every other reel away. Honorable mention as number one also is a Stella. Also a $1000 reel, too many parts tho, saltiga better. Then there are the accurate reels....
You can get a Penn slammer 111 in multiple sizes 3500-10500 and with more than 40lbs of drag or bigger line capacity . $$$$ prices also does not reflect the market in relationship to whats on the market like the Stella FJ. from Shimano. Maybe this list should be 7 reasonable priced saltwater fishing reels vs best and lose the Krap King (Kast King) there complete garbage.
Yeah, nah, I’ve got a Saragossa 10000 from Shimano for stickbaits and Spheros for surfcasting. The Thunnus series from Shimano is better built than the Baitrunner, if you’re after a baitrunner! These and Daiwa are sealed for salt water use
Putting a Sharky Krap king in the same group with a Penn Slammer lll makes gives very little confidence to viewers who know reels. Yes the KK is cheap but its exactly that cheap . The Sharky has nothing to align the gears to keep them in place during a fight so the gears will chip and pit as they wobble under pressure. The sharky also has no salt protection other than a layer of grease. The reel handle is a flimsy piece of junk that can snap off and the reels foot can snap right off the rod under pressure. KK is a knock off company that makes cheap Chinese knockoffs of traditionally name brand reels and will fail just a matter of when like when your fish a lifetime come alongs
The kastking reels are flawless for lite tackle applications. I have caught tons of fish in Thailand In the 7-18kg range on a kastking 3000 spinning reel

Nice one. The flame looks great for me as a beginner angler
Hi Andrew - Yes the Piscifun Flame is a highly rated model and a great option if you're starting out as a saltwater angler 👍
eh, I wouldn't get it if you are going for salt water.
Thanks, surprised to not see the Shimano Thunnus.

Penn Slammer and Penn SpinFisher r the best in my opinion.
Thanks for your feedback, Mary. Here at FishingPax, we tend to agree about this fantastic brand!
Ok let's go through the high end stuff and see the normal price stuff you heardly see them in stores wish I could find them thanks
Thanks for your comment Jeff - We will add some higher-priced options when we do another video for Saltwater Spinning Reels
Number of bearings means nothing, placement means everything. You could have 3 perfectly placed bearing do better than 10 off placed.
Dawa huh rear drag spinfisher 4 settings
You missed Shimano Stella

i do not think that the penn slammer is the best reel its either the saltiga or the stella
I don't think they had that price point in mind.

kastkingreel are bad, do not deserve to be at list at all. had 2 reels, drive gear broke after few (!!!!) fishing trips !
PE #line the correct term, there no such thing as 1.5lb braided lines its too much thin peace out🤣🤣🤣
