That's one way of taking the dog for a walk! Great vehicle, I had a 109 2.6 safari for a short while in the uk. I got rid as it drunk fuel, but it was a looker!! Enjoy!
Yeah he loves going for land rover walks on the farm. I almost bought a s2a 2.6 S/W many years ago. Geez they look good. I have a forward control with a 2.6, I would hate to think of the fuel economy of it so I think I just won't lol.
Very nice car, story and video. The previous owner was good with this car until the end, when he decided to find someone to keep on the good work. It must have been a relief for him to find the proper candidate.
thinking of getting one similar [1982 ]what is the gearing like in those stage 1, ie is it any higher than the earlier stage 3 or does it really need an overdrive for highway ? :-) thanks
Hi i also had a stage 1 1982 it had the black vinyl seats (10)seater, 3.9 isuzu.Tropical roofs were all standard on these vehicles(s/wagons).I wish that i could see it again onthe bonnet at the back edges on both sides i had its name(Starlight).I now have a 110 county 3.9 since1989 its name is Starlight1.(kevin).
@@LandySmurf Stage 1 was & maybe still is as to when i sold it back in 1989 colour Sahara dusk as your stage 1 is.110 County is ivory white you can view it on U Tube type in Madigan & Simpson loop my two mates are driving the Pumas.
@@AlejandroP1980s mine is a factory 3.9l Isuzu diesel. There are still quite a few of them around so I wouldn't say that they are rare just less common than a series 3
Great video and congrats on bagging that beauty👍 i've just bought a 1982 Stage One myself. In much worse condition but planning to tidy it up, hope i can get to that standard!

@@LandySmurf thanks for that 🙂do they have a solid front diff or cvs ? and it sounds like the front diff turns all the time - so freewheeling hubs cannot be fitted ? 🙂
That’s a nice fit dog.
Thanks, He loves going for his runs around the place.

Thanks. Yeah he was very happy that it went to someone local who was going to cherish it just the way he did.
A great video mate. I never knew it came with the Isuzu engine in Non-Military guise. Ya learn something every day. Many thanks
Great intro to a Stage 1... i just bought one...
Very cool. They are starting to get a good following now.

Nice rig and in very nice condition. Keep up the great videos.
Thanks for the feedback.
Great clip mate. That is a unreal find. Such amazing condition for its age.
Thanks. Wasn't after one but couldn't knock it back. The previous owner was happy it was going locally to a land rover family.
Fantastic find. Same year as mine.
Great share !
Thanks
Great looking truck, very nice. Your video quality has improved out of site too, well done!!
Thanks for the feedback 👍

The 110 went to the split rear seat in 1987. Before that they were the same as yours.
Would explain why I wasn't sure. Thanks for clarifying
Mine is a 1980 model with the 3.5L V8
Very nice

It is a different gearbox. Still 4 speed. It is very similar to a Perentie. I don't feel the need for an overdrive.

@@mathuranathadas108 solid diff. Permanent 4x4.
Hi bud could you advise the paint code please.
I will have a look on the weekend
Shame the v8s gone but nice motor
This is an Isuzu from factory
In Australia we got a choice between the Rover/Buick 3.5 V8 and the Isuzu 4BD1 - the latter is an outstandingly reliable and torquey engine.
