Maybe others have won more and have lasted on the circuit longer, but to me he was the best player ever to have graced this game. Even his attitude and demeanour was first class. Certain players today should take note.

One of those rare Hendry breaks where the cue ball ran away from him a few times, but managed to pull out some insane recovery pots. The man had it all! Easy to forget just how dominant this man was in his era, especially in this competition.

Ppl forget and some who are too young just don’t realise how damn good Stephen hendry was , he is only challenged imo by Ronnie and yo untill maybe 5 years or so ago if of said Stephen was still the greatest but I have to admit Ronnies level and longevity means I can’t see how anyone could deny he’s the best of all time (modern day anyway)

If only his cue never got broken on the plane. I really do think he would have dominated the 2000s as well. He was never the same players after using a good cue rather than his squint cheap cue. It worked for him and he lost his hunger after

Are you nuts? A multi millionaire can choose to buy any cue in the world. When Ronnie needed a new cue, he phoned John Parris, to send 10 cues to his house in a taxi and chose the one that worked for him.

His cue action (and stance !) already changed a lot compared to the 1990's, it became more mechanical, slower... Of course he was still able to compile exceptional breaks like this, but the fluency and swagger he had in his earlier days were gone already. Still a great break though.
