One of the most informative podcasts I’ve ever listen too. Mr. Lancôme, at 82, showed a zest for life and a veracious will to compete in business and to improve the human condition, I found his enthusiasm inspiring. The entire podcast was excellent!
Great lessons in life shared by the legendary, Ken Langone, on your RUclips podcast episode, James. I love capitalism too, and yes, Donald Trump has paved the way for me too, to one day become President of the United States. ❤🤙
You’re right about one person destroying a company. My wife destroyed mine. Completely messed up the accounting side. Spent time crying an whining and throwing tantrums. Vey dangerous and destructive
James - I'm an Altucher Report subscriber. Could you please do an analysis of Henry George's, "Progress and Poverty?" George was massively suppressed by the Plutocrats because he identified the third pillar of true Capitalism - Land. Capitalism = Land + labour + capital Thanks, man.
Great personality. Astonishing life and accomplishments. But...I really would have liked him to elaborate on the problem of the extreme and continually increasing gap between the richest and poorest. Face it ; "the american dream" is dead. If we don´t invest in the less fortunate part of our population and enable higher levels of education (by yes; higher taxes for the rich) - there´ll be hell to pay. He says several times "I dont want to get political"...this is what they all say....Put your mouth where your money is, sir.
Very good. Some comments. As respects keeping distance for people you don't like. "See that man over there, i don't hi,. I need to get to know him better" Abe Lincoln. seems to be a better approach. I grew up about the same time and under similar circumstances. Without nearly free college and very low education costs and the ease of upward mobility i would not have done as well. this cost of higher education is a shame and a tragedy in America. Jack Welch seems over rated. The comment about him never missing a chance to praise someone seems at odds with his recommendation to fire 10% of your staff every year in order to get out the dead wood.
Mr. Langone, I'm enjoying this interview greatly. I wholeheartedly I agree in the importance of people. But, as a Home Depot customer, I'm one of the people that don't feel valued at all. Many years ago Home Depot was all about the customer. Now, it's very difficult to find assistance and you don't even appreciate me enough to check me out when I've made my selections. You insist that I do that for you. Your business is no better than Walmart, or Lowes. You no longer care about the customer experience. You only want our money. That's what happens when bean counters take over.

This is my favorite interview you have done! There were so many moments I laughed and learned. 💖

This guy you're interviewing now? He always had a "Moat", right?
All these old billionaires must have had a "Moat." Or, they wouldn't be billionaires.
