stoneback should have won. his runs were way better than aasbo. This is coming from a huge aasbo fan. I honestly don't care for Geoff but he deserved that win.
On aasbo's lead he created a gap between him and Geoff at the second outside zone and during the transition. Geoff dropped a tire on his lead aswell. Ryan L even said it on stream which is why he was the only one that went with Aasbo. Geoff had a killer follow run, but you cannot deny that he made mistakes whereas aasbo was just consistent and had a solid chase run too.
How did aasbo do a shit chase in his run exactly? He mirrored Geoff pretty much, stayed with him, didnt lose proximity at any point during the chase, meanwhile Geoff dropped a tire on his lead run and got gapped by aasbo during the first transition.
jzx 100 that's not true hahah. He actually had the best run of the day lol idk y you're hating on aasbo because he's one of the best in FD top 3 for sure. He was more aggressive than stoneback was in some areas in his chase runs that stoneback on his chases look very closely to the battle.
Are we ever going to do something about track visibility? The more HP we introduce the faster we burn up tires. Visibility is poor for the fans/viewers, but being a driver is 100x worse as you have to make split second decisions as to take a chance and hit the other driver or slow down and lose because you straightened up, went off course, or tapped the lead driver because you cant see a thing. I feel most of the corrections we see nowadays is because the drivers dont want to put their 60 or 80 thousand dollar cars into a wall or another driver, because they cant see the track or driver in front of them. If this sport is getting big enough, why arent tire manufacturers makeing tires specific for this use case. Lower smoke production with different materials and still get the same grip level. I feel as though some manufacturers are doing just the opposite, like achilles, who seem to make tires with one purpose; to smoke out the entire course, the driver behind you, and the judges stand so they have to make a guess about you. The big tire smoke was cool for about 15 minutes, and now is just annoying. This is probably why a lot of fans like watching lower horsepower classes as you can clearly see the angle of the cars. Im all for shredding tires, but this is ridiculous. Just my opinion I guess.
These drivers put these cars to the max, they dont own these cars. They put 1000hp through them which cause huge amounts of stress on the axles, trans, clutch, and block these guys dont care that the smoke might put a car in the wall. They only would care if it lost them points. People like formula d because of no hp limits.
While I know that drivers can adapt to the smoke and can go through the course just by memory, I do find that this particular round was really bad, visibility wise.
this is probably the first set of races this year where I can see why the judges chose every single winner in every single race, it was some good racing here in texas, looking forward to the next set. You can see all of the newer racers getting more and more comfortable with their cars, I just feel bad that mike gets unlucky almost every set :(
Ii did...both the drivers were both good but being a Gushi fan I am gonna be bias if Gushi's 86 wasn't messed up and down on hp im sure he would of won but thats just my opinion. His lead run was alright but not his best and his chase was lagging maybe his worst I've seen not that crazy amazing door to door shit hes done in the past but, when I saw his chase run I knew there was a chance he was gonna lose and he did but still think he should have won despite the fact Bluss had a better lead run. Im also still salty Tuerck lost too even though his lost was inevitable after that huge ass mistake he made also Aasbo lost which hella surprised me (I missed Aasbo run so thats why it surprised me when I found out he lost)
I guess?... i mean Gushi is one of my favorite drivers so i get pretty hyped up when I watch his runs but for the most part I like all the drivers in FD so i guess you could say i'm an FD fanboy and watch the whole event with fanboy vision on
Last battle between Foresberg and Aasbo should have been a OMT. Foresberg transitioned a bit early therfore cutting it really close to the inside clipping point not leaving Aasbo enough space to stick his door. Nonetheless, I am glad to see that FD is listening to the viewers and the judging has been more "fair"
i see where you're going with this but as a chase driver it is you're responsibilty to adjust and follow as the lead car does. if forsberg's transition was early then aasbo in the chase should've found a way to adjust for that. Backing off would have helped or transitioning after forsberg rather than trying to transition with him.
I had a second thought. I work in an industry where environmental permits are required. Where the products that we spray and apply have a VOC (volitile organic compound) number and we are only permitted to emit so many VOC's into the environment. What if the environmental bureaus were to step in and limit the amount of smoke production? I mean, what is the difference between drifting around a track with huge plumes of smoke, and burning a pile of tires? Nothing really, the same reaction is happening, and I do know for a fact that recycling centers have to capture the majority percent of the emitted toxins from anything that they cremate or burn off. Same thing when the government burns and destroys drugs and other items they destroy. Just a thought.
That's kind of what I'm saying. Different tire compound, HP restriction, track compound, suction filter to pull smoke straight from tires, or a wet track. I'm sure the are more options, but that's what I came up with. If the EPA catches wind they will have something done. drifting is still new, although 20 years old, and big sponsors and agency's are still watching the market to see if drifting will be around in the near future.
Bullshit Assbo and Chris did there 3rd OMT and what's his face says "Chris hopes Assbo makes a mistake" then he does jinxed it right there. the Judges are crap too Assbo should have beaten Chris
if you said aasbo lost you didn't pay attention to the run and must just have hate for aasbo i'm not a fan of him but he clearly won stoneback lost proximity towards end of his omt chase.

"This is probably why a lot of fans like watching lower horsepower classes as you can clearly see the angle of the cars" - you got me :P

I was at the new jersey one and we had to wait like 10 mins some times just for the smoke to clear
While I know that drivers can adapt to the smoke and can go through the course just by memory, I do find that this particular round was really bad, visibility wise.
Jared DeAnda said something along the lines of "they're putting out marshmallows behind them".
FD is rigged... Stoneback should've got that W !

Still salty ...... Ken Gushi should have won that one
Were you even watching his run?

I guess?... i mean Gushi is one of my favorite drivers so i get pretty hyped up when I watch his runs but for the most part I like all the drivers in FD so i guess you could say i'm an FD fanboy and watch the whole event with fanboy vision on
ya me to he had a better angle
That was nuts.. Aasbo first mistake in a while tho, finally is human ^^
You're a few months back with the "back at it again" jokes bud
Forrest wang best drift style ever

+Ricky Bridges your just mad because your stock toyota 86 doesnt have the hp that these guys have.
Bro. Don't creep on me.
Jk. That's only part of the problem.
Ricky Bridges Its your profile picture
Bullshit Assbo and Chris did there 3rd OMT and what's his face says "Chris hopes Assbo makes a mistake" then he does jinxed it right there. the Judges are crap too Assbo should have beaten Chris
waow some pretty damn intense battles with some of my favourite drivers too

Awesome event! I got some footage on my vlog, just in case you guys wanna see the event from my pov!
Chris Forsberg is my favorite driver but he did bad on this track, he got so lucky making is second place.
formula drift aint so fun to watch. to much Speed and less feeling
Snooken Recordings watch d1gp
aasbo dropped a tire on his chase run with stoneback
just sayin
great driving from all the drivers tho
single tire drops are minor deductions. especially considering how hard aasbo was chasing
if you said aasbo lost you didn't pay attention to the run and must just have hate for aasbo i'm not a fan of him but he clearly won stoneback lost proximity towards end of his omt chase.
Finally mad mike went to the convertible and now he actually stands a chance I new it was that roof
Forsberg did a snake move tho
Aasbo vs stoneback was best battle should've went one more time
" definetly the sadbull right now " LOL
Aasbo gets it to easy. They are just handing wins to him.
10:55 how come Ryan didn't say OMT????
Gushi should've got the win
kristap is a savage lol.
anyone else notice forsberg hit the brakes against Alec and aasbo in the middle clipping zone which caused both of them to correct badly???
It wasnt that significant, and that part is also a decell zone if you've seen the layout explanation at the beginning.
said the same exact thing. forsberg fucked aasbo on that run. Aasbo only had to correct because of forsbergs mistake
Wang is the best American drifter. Oops'Mad" Mike Whiddet is the best drifterWhat's so hard to figure about that?
if u watch the mike and mcquirre part again, u could tell mike lost against him. why the hell judges goes for OMT
Luke Adkins I think mad mike just have a bad car it seems like it has too much grip and too short wheel base
dis same intence shit. Would wantto go to one so bad. Maybe come to Finland one day....oh yeah we dont have like any fucking tracks
You do.
D1visor maybe 1 i think or 2 but they are like never in public use like track days or something
Good to see Aasbo driving during his chase run instead of just sandbagging it.
was ryan tuerk using his 458 powered 86?
Jason Kentjana that for one wasn't done being built and that car would not be competitive either.
I just hate Aasbo so much.
how does aasbo stay that consisteny
so much tire smoke
Most epic FD round ive seen since quarry vs karnage collision and vaughn hit the wall in atlanta years ago
G0ATLif3 Hitting a wall in Atlanta? What are you talking , there no walls on the Atlanta course lol.
It was long beach, my mistake.
