Thanks for this video, the detail was perfect, much better than other videos. It seems like Lenovo wanted to make it difficult to upgrade the SSD.

Hi your tutorial was perfect for me. I have the same Lenovo and the SSD is going to die, I had to remove some screws with a cutter because impossible to unscrew. Thanks a lot you saved me a lot of time. I appreciate if you want post the screw set early mentioned in your video. Thanks

Very nicely done with great explanations. Just finished upgrading my SSD in same laptop. Made it a breeze, thanks! For anyone putting in Samsung SSD and using their Data Migration tool. Make sure if you had bitlocker enabled to turn off and decrypt your original source drive or it will spin and do nothing. Learned that the hard way by ignoring the precautions in their docs.
I agrees a lot of steps for a common replaceable item? Pretty silly design not thinking of their customers. Perhaps required to allow fans to pull away the heat.

If on booting the laptop it's showing ssd not found - does it mean the hard drive failed? Is it worth doing this to try remove and re-insert the ssd to see if it works then? Is the data recoverable at this point? (Awesome walkthrough by the way, thank you)

You can try with a usb adapter. Could be caused by a bios setting.

I have been getting this blue screen error message "Default boot device missing or boot failed. Insert recovery media and hit any key. then select 'boot manager' to choose a new boot device or to boot recovery media." I was told that it is likely a hard drive issue, so I am going to be trying this repair on my laptop! Before I did so, I was wondering if you have instructions on how to set up the windows installer usb you used in the very last step? Any help would be much appreciated!
