Fun Fact: John Polonia, the main actor and producer of Feeders, died in 2008 at a mere 39 years old. Tragic really, despite how bad Feeders is, they were known for helping new filmmakers and actors get their starts. They knew exactly what they made and rejoiced in other B filmmakers creating and sharing works of their own. The other brother, Mark Polonia, is still making films and has a director's cut of Feeders out now that Jay might be interested in.

There is some old footage of concerts from the 90s on youtube that people put up themselves (not the TV recorded ones). That's a pretty decent idea what it would look like if you stream it to your phone at the lowest quality.

@@DanArnets1492 Yep, even worse than that. Most connections were dial-up in the 90's, so it was like waiting for hours just to get 5 minutes of cheap, grainy, choppy footage at very low resolutions. People today would never even believe it. Streaming video didn't get popular until after cable internet took off in 2000. Dialup made it painful to even download standard resolution pictures, and GIFs were just two second cartoon loops. Nothing like the gifs we see today.

Fun factoid-- Turbulence 3: Heavy Metal was originally entitled The Gateway, until Lionsgate realized halfway through principal photography that they had the rights to the Turbulence franchise, and because this movie takes place on a plane, there ya have it. Slap some branding on there. Rutger Hauer was also not an original cast member, he literally wandered on set halfway through filming and just kinda went "you need an actor?" and they shoehorned him in. I was in that movie as an extra, I swear I'm in it more than Hauer is. Everyone knew while filming what a piece of crap it was, even the director (legendary psychopath Jorge Montesi) just rolled his eyes every time he had to direct a scene and would just be like "I didnt fucking write the thing, ok?" hahaha Im still buddies with one of the principal actors in it, he became, quite accidentally, a good client of mine when he came into my tattoo studio years after our time on this movie. We still laugh about how bad it is.

A cool little piece of trivia: The "Gateway to Hell" thing they were talking about in Turbulence 3 is actually a "real" urban legend and not just something thing they made up for the movie. Supposedly a town in Kansas called "Stull" is the seventh gateway to hell and yup in the legend the pope refused to fly over it for that same reason (of course, while the pope did indeed have plane ride over the twon there's no actual proof of the plane changing it's course). Like with all urban legends there is some (very, little) basis in reality (the town/location has a pretty interesting history) but was completely over exaggerated and embellished over the years.
The only thing that they changed about the story was that on the location was a cemetery not a church. But it's understandable because crashing a plane into a cemetery just doesn't really have the same effect as crashing one into a church. LOL!

I grew up in Topeka and took the backroads to Lawrence regularly in high school, which goes through Stull. And it’s absolutely true.
I forget if it was the Lawrence Journal World, or the University of Kansas newspaper that originally did the story, but the “gateway to hell” may not have started, but was the second domino in the popularity of the Stull legend.
Stull itself is nothing more than a speed trap occupied by a handful of yokels, but sure as shit every Halloween there’s a few cops standing guard at the church property gates to keep watch.
Kinda creepy to drive though at 1 am while stoned (Don’t drive high kids)

Here's a suggestion: It looks epically epic and beautiful to look at, etc., but I don't think it looks like it's going to be fun. I want some of that fan service stuff, like Luke swinging a light saber. Am I alone?

I understand that you need their positive opinion so you can reinforce your own, but you have to understand they need to clutter their set with more pop culture and geek culture merchandise before they can legally film the next episode.

It's a no-brainer, because Turbulence 3 stars Joe Mantegna, an Emmy-nominated actor plus Rutger Hauer. It was a B-movie, but of fairly decent production value, and here it competed against total trash.

LOL, I love the Stull, KS reference. I don't live terribly far from there and even people around me haven't heard of that legend. Kind of a deep cut.

As someone who watched Turbulence 3: Heavy Metal on some random movie channel like 20 years ago, I got weirdly really excited when they announced they were watching this movie.

"Ohh remember that fun time we had throwing the blood around, then you take the movie and you put it in a bin, close the lid on bin and then you never talk about it again."
    That was oddly poetic

I went to a baseball game a year ago at Wrigley Field where Joe Mantegna sang "Take Me Down To The Ballgame." I couldn't be prouder to have shared a song with a Turbulence 3 cast member.
