thankyou for making this video i am using it as my instructional video i broke my diff yesterday i run on 6s so have orderd HR cup and casings and some ceramic bearings for the input shaft
@@RoadsideRC tnx man. so just to be sure, if i have a brand new diff in a new case i can just replace it to the rear or front and it will work the same right?
This was a very old Hobbywing setup. They don't make it anymore. I believe staying brushed is probably better in the long run with how weak the diffs are.
That is what I put in there. You can choose which oil you want based on how you want the diff to work. Thicker oil gives a more locked feel. Thinner gives a more open feel.
Did you get rid of your Summit?? I've been following you for about a year now. I just got a summit myself last week and fell on this video in a search. I had no idea you even had one lol
I did get rid of it! I kept expecting after the release of the ERevo2.0 that Traxxas would quickly follow with a Summit2.0...except that they never did...
@@patricklavoie8719 You have that right! I really enjoyed the Summit. It is not the best basher, or the best crawler - but it is the best at being a Summit! I keep telling myself I will break down and make an ERevo2.0 into my own Summit2.0.
OMG so much to disassemble not looking forward to doing mine lol I'll use your vid and take some pictures as im going along,,I got 2 summits i think they are a great car myself
Thank you so much for this excellent step by step! Awesome, and super helpful.
Great! I am always glad to hear these videos are helpful.

Glad to hear it. Hope it helps!
It's nice that HR gives lifetime warranty for the alloy cup because that thing will never break again
I sure hope it doesn't!
hi, tnx for the video!
is the diff itselfe is the same for the front and rear?
Sure are. The case and internals are the same.
@@RoadsideRC tnx man.

@@suryjoni Yes sir. The diff cup, and gears are all the same part number front and rear. The case/housing is also the same.
Thanks iam doing now big help .what wheels and tires sizes you running?
These are some RC4WD mud slingers.
Glad this was helpful!
Awesome video thank you👍🏻 Can you tell me what motor and esc combo you put in there? I really want to do that mine is stock and 11yrs old haha

What wheels and tires are those your running
Those are RC4WD Mud Slingers on 3.8" plastic beadlocks.
@@RoadsideRC wow 3.8 thank you
Hey great video bro, does the rear diff carry the same 50k oil ?
That is what I put in there. You can choose which oil you want based on how you want the diff to work.
Thicker oil gives a more locked feel. Thinner gives a more open feel.
What wheels and tires are you using? There's a lot of odd info out there about these.
Here are the tires: amzn.to/3cG7TVw
Here are the beadlocks: amzn.to/2X8dMnK
Hope that helps!

There’s no truck quite like it 😄

Has that been done before? I’m sure a lot of people would be interested 😄

Glad to hear this was useful for you!
The Summit really is a cool truck. I keep waiting on Traxxas to release a new version of it!
Diffs didn't need shims ? I'm about to do mine, TIA
Nope - I assembled then just as shown.
@@RoadsideRC holy cow had to go back to this video a million times to finish lol. thanks again !

How's that Hot Racing diff cup been holding up?
It is doing good! No issues for the whole time I owned the truck. I honestly believe it helps the diff gears live longer.
@@RoadsideRC that's good to hear! I'm hoping to pick one up soon. Is everything else stock?
@@moistavocado2350 From a driveline, yes. This truck had a brushless setup in it, so did have more power than stock.
Better put the stock tires back on, unless you like fixing differentials.
This thing ate differentials no matter what I did to it!
