Coming from a Michigan fan - Ohio St 1995 were one of the best CFB teams to not win a national championship. Tennessee were also great this year. Both of these teams deserved to be in a bigger bowl game.

Two 1 lose teams, Tenn 10-1 OSU 11-1 , both in the top 5, and the heisman winner! The citrus bowl hit The lottery in 95. Never again will you see 2 teams this good play in this bowl!

If this was in the playoffs or bcs era one of these teams would have made it. Amazing the Citrus Bowl had the 2nd best bowl game matchup after the Fiesta Bowl that year.

After watching the Hall of Fame Peyton throwing the ball as a Sophomore, I'm feeling a bit better about Nico's progress this year, no where near where we was hoping, but he hasn't been bad, and its been more of 1 or 2 people not doing the simple things that has knocked the Offense out of rhythm most often. Not to mention the whole offense has played better of late. It'll be interesting to see who this years Playoff game goes! I am SOO glad we get the late game! Since it'll be my luck i end up working my day off!

Back when stars played in bowl games and teams really wanted to win. Vols had more speed than OSU but more importantly the hit harder than OSU, Leonard Little jacked Eddie George's jaw and he couldn't score from the 1. That was the turning point, good win for the Vols and continued dominance over Big 10. Helpful hint, check out UT/Michigan from the same bowl game, Jason Witten outran the whole Michigan secondary, Michigan way slow. Inferior stadium, too.

Ya but might’ve been because 19 players were wearing illegal soccer cleats OSU was slipping all over the field Tennessee had good footing you realize there’s only 22 starters on offense and defense combined & 19 players were wearing illegal soccer cleats and the explanation Tennessee gave to the NCAA and the NCAA bought it no penalties or punishment whatever the victory should’ve been avoided cheaters , OSU got hammered for four players giving big10 champion chip ring and Autographs for tattoos that didn’t help them win any games but that helped Tennessee .

@@nathaniellathy6559 your comment is completely irrelevant to anything I said. If you're going to attempt to defend the perennial cuckholdry of the media over OSU, at least try to stay focused on the comment at hand. But for what it's worth, Notre Dame is the only program who outmatches OSU for unwarranted media bias on a yearly basis. Penn State doesn't warrant the same critique, they haven't been elite since the late 80s and haven't been treated like they should be, unlike OSU and Notre Dame.

@@nathaniellathy6559 woulda, coulda, shoulda...you can play that sorry game all day. Peyton should have won the 97 Heisman, but he didn't and that's just the way it is. The fact is those teams didn't win the Natty. Those years proved how stupid the bowl system was, but the SEC only claimed one of the four national championships in question, so not sure what your point is bringing up the SEC. FSU deserved their title, as did Nebraska and Florida. My point is still valid that Notre Dame and OSU think they deserve more than they earn, as demonstrated by your delusional take. If ND "should have won" in 93, they should have beaten 17th ranked Boston College AT HOME. If OSU "could have" been voted #1 in 96, they shouldn't have lost AT HOME to 21st ranked Michigan.
Penn State did get hosed at a shot in 94, but like I said, the bowl system then was stupid, and it's not like anyone was going to beat Nebraska that year.

90-99 Tennessee teams were better then the 2010-2020 Alabama teams good game on Ohio states part.

I am a lifelong Vols fan, but you are smoking some whacky stuff to make a statement like this. UT had four very good teams in the 90s, but with only two SEC championships, one natty, and a lackluster record against Florida.. Alabama in the last decade far surpasses that record, along with any other program in all of college football history. The only teams you might put in the same conversation are 80s Miami or 90s Nebraska.

Back when SEC coaches actually played white men (Scott Galyon) on defense. Amazing.

Can't be a coach at Florida without being a classless asshole with poor sportsmanship and a big mouth. Spurrier, Muschamp, and Mullen are all perfect examples of the sort of bombastic blowhards Florida attracts to coach their team of felons.
Edit: I forgot the worst of them all: Urban Meyer and his national championship teams of thugs, murderers, and self absorbed "golden boy" Tebow.

Ohio State had always squandered great talent with bad schemes. Up the middle runs....Day & Cooper are from the same cloth. Predictable and uncreative.😂

Fat Phil had all that talent and only could win one national championship and only one it by a fluke fumble by the Arkansas quarterback. I always wondered if he got a ring for winning the natty for the Vols. Funny if Stallings hadn't of retired it would be Alabama and Florida kicking there arses.

Every national title team has a game where they get a lucky break. Happens every year tard lol. Alabama was nothing special in the 90's lol.
