Purdy is not the only quarterback that has a serious problem dealing with a wet ball. It totally throws off their throwing motion because they cannot put the necessary torque on the ball. This next Sunday's game comes with clear skies and 67 degree temps. He is going to be great.

Agreed. Also, I feel like the niners are best when its about 50/50 passing/rushing. When they start passing more, its when they, for some reason, start to go downhill.
The ravens game is a decent example. I know ALOT of things went wrong in that game, but 32 throws is alot for the niners and they hardly ran it. Same with thing was happening with the packers .That is until they started mixing it up and running it more in the 4th where they had more succes.

I grew up in IA and am a Vikings fan, I know, they suck and a huge IA state fan. I loved watching Brock in collage and now he has me cheering for the Niners. The kid is a stud, he wasn’t a 1st round draft pick, how many of them are playing for a shot at the Super Bowl this week. I don’t understand the hate he gets and how people are rooting against him. He is the Cinderella story they usually pull for. He has a year and a half as a starter in the NFL, he was drafted as a bench warmer. Let’s start giving him credit when credit is due, every qb has bad days and years, Montana, Young, Aikmen, Favre, Rodger’s, the list goes on, I can think of some who just suck and are starters and get accolades and huge contracts. Brock will fix what he needs to fix and come out strong. He’s my pick for Super Bowl MVP.

21 days. Steve Young nailed it! Brock Purdy wasn't under center for 21 days DURING the NFL season and it wasn't because of injury! He was so good and the team, that they earned that 21 days! But as a starting 2nd-year NFL quarterback, who is young and really not needing the time to heal like the older players, he came out RUSTY! When I saw him in that first series with the glove, I'm like "Get rid of that glove!" But in the end, he drove his team to VICTORY and, stats aside, WINNING is the ONLY thing that matters and Purdy is a WINNER the Niners need!

One more... Thinking about system QB... People also check down QB... The latter is wrong... Brock leads the league in yards per attempt... I started to think about other QBs who have been in the Shanahan system... RGIII, who was excellent when young then got hurt... RGIII was never as good as Brock, most will say he was more physically gifted. I'm not so sure about that... Had the speed, but the arm talent wasn't there like Brock.
Matt Ryan. When with Shanahan, Ryan was one of the best in the Biz, but never statistically the best. Brock is in his second year. I have thought about Mullins, Beathard, Lance and Garrapoo as well... 😂 Lance was considered to be the better physical specimen obviously, but can't make decisions like Purdy has. How many times did Brady have to come back in the last 2 minutes of a game to win. Purdy does it, and all this criticism. Every elite QB has thrown interceptions, made mistakes in their early years, hell even in their more seasoned years! They are acting like Purdy has to be absolutely perfect in his first full year as a starter to be considered good. He won 2 playoff games last year and we were the #1 seed this year and now in the NFC game, broke records. WTF else to they want from him!! Jordan Love I think will be a really good QB, but he lost that game and everyone still praising him like they won. They aren't tearing him down for throwing 2 interceptions!

I honestly think the pack took advantage of 2 big plays where the db slipped and wrs were wide open, and the kick return that went for a huge play. It wouldnt have been as close if not for those. Brock missed so many passes including an easy check down at the beginning. Was stunning to watch. Hopefully that last drive is indicative of their play their next game and hopefully the super bowl.

Omg STOP. Tired of hearing the excuses of falling down. It’s easy to say that in hindsight but you know they still would’ve got smoked because they were good routes. That’s the reason Love came into the game with 21 TDs to 1 INT last few weeks. You saw him drive the ball down the field all day on you guys. Except some of the red zone attempts the 49ers finally came through at held to FGs. Purdy on the other hand didn’t really show up until the last 2 drives of the game when he was in panic hurry up mode. All of Niners nation knew the Packers were 1-2 more plays away from winning the game on our last drive.

In the end, even after the excuse of falling down on 2 huge plays, they stilll hung on and won the game and made critical plays when it mattered. Purdy was garbage for most of the game for whatevet reason. Some clean pocket throws were way off. But like you said the last drives were spot on and thats when it mattered the most. The Pack shocked everybody so will be even tougher next year.

The Rain clearly affected Love too. He threw a ton of head-scratchers throughout the night. But somehow no one is criticizing him for it even though he's the losing QB!!!. Love had a couple of chances to drive the ball down the field late in the game to win and couldn't because he struggled to make a completion. But no one is talking about that, somehow people only notice Purdy struggling even though he got over it and eventually won. No one can let this guy have a shred of credit. It's so pathetic how obsessed people are with not letting this guy have an ounce of credit.

I disagree. Just because you're a running QB and can throw a mile doesn't mean you're elite. Brady was elite. Montana was elite. Running QBs are fun to watch. Being elite is about winning games even when you're down 20 points. Never getting in your own head and charging forward. Brock has kept drives going using his feet. Beat high blitz rates behind a middle of the pack O line. A defense that has struggled. Give the kid credit for being good since the day he stepped in for Jimmy.

It wasn't just the 49ers that struggled in the game.
It certainly wasn't pretty but break it down..
3-0 the 49ers scored 7 to take the lead gave up 3 more for 6-7 at halftime=won the first half.
Packers go up 13-7.. 49ers score 7 to take back the lead, Packers get 8 more=they won the third quarter 15-7 for 21-14 start of 4th.
    49ers get 3 Packers miss a kick.
49ers then get 7 on a classic montana esque game winning type drive and the defense seals it with a pick for a 0-10 4th and 21-24 final.
Winner winner mushroom chicken kabob dinner.
Not as bad as everyone thinks, not as good as everyone hoped but the 49ers are playing in the NFCCG this Sunday.
    Let Brock cook says Steve.
    49ers, win on WIN!

And with Purdy leading his team back when it counted it gives them confidence. SO think what you want Purdy is going to take his team to the super bowl and if Shanahan calls a better game than he did against Baltimore on Christmas then he can win it. Even with SFs line is ranked 21st in pass protection. If Purdy uses his legs and runs it a bit more he will succeed. As of today Purdy looks like a young Drew Breeze. A guy that was cast off by the Chargers because he was too small and didn't have the arm strength. Especially after he injured his shoulder.
