Hello Jacey! We will be heading out west soon in our vintage camper van! Looks like a really fun camping trip... Thanks for taking us along! 💙Terry and Terri
Your irrational fear of your sleeping mat losing air kills me lol, I also take a spare foam pad for the same reason!!!! Haaaahah you are not alone!! :)
My girlfriend just got a toyota rav 4 and i have been looking for people who used that car for camping and adventure and say what !!? I found your channel and its the perfect spot for all the motivation and inspiration. Thank you and i hope you make more trips.
Just discovered your video randomly thanks to RUclips algo and loved this! So simple but so lovely. Sorry to see those bug bites though!! I wonder if they’re sandfly bites or something, hard to believe a spider would eat you up like that! You’be gained a new sub! :-)
Oh my gosh those bug bites! 😮I also tend to be a bug magnet lol. Follow you on Instagram and just discovered you do RUclips videos, so exciting! Can’t wait to see more. -Candice, Andrew, and Riley 🐾
It's nice that you have a female friend to go overnighting with. Permethrin, NOT DEET, is an insect repellent you can spray on gear/clothing/vestibule area of your tent you should consider adding to your gear. My personal preference for tasty, nutritions meals are freeze dried Peak Refuel meals. There is too much food in the foil pack for lil ole MEeee, so I open the foil pouch at home & weigh out 2 equal portions of the freeze dried meal, write on the ziplok baggie, the meal & how much water I need to add. I boil the correct amount of water then pour the meal from the ziplok baggie into my 750ml Titanium cup which is inserted into a home-made Koozie that keeps my meal HOT HOT right down to the last sporkful. Almost no heat loss during the 10 minutes needed to rehydrate, thanks to the koozie. You can make your own Koozie, using Reflectix & that 2" wide sticky transparent tape used for packages. Put big heavy rocks atop tent stakes to keep them from pulling out of the ground if Mother Nature's mood changes to strong gusty winds. Your tent would have blown down around you in that sandy soil if there had been any strong gusty winds. You definitely need to add a ground sheet large enough to cover the vestibule area. Covering the vestibule area ground with a ground sheet will help you keep your tent's interior cleaner from sand/twigs/spiders/insects/whatever. I applaud your decision to carry a Garmin In-Reach, just in case. I only hope you've learned to use it & know enough to start off with fully charged batteries. Yes, I've subscribed & "Like" this video Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada
Thanks for the recommendations! I'll have to try the Peak Refuel meals - I've heard great things and am searching for good freeze-dried meals. Ohh yes to the Garmin! It's a new addition and one that I am happy to have. Thank you!
@@jaceywest For MEeee, there is too much food in the foil pack for one meal, if I try to eat all of it, overstuffed. While at home, I open the foil pack of a Peak Refuel Meal, weight out 2 equal portions then put them inside 1QT Freezer ziplok baggies. Label the meal & how much water yu need to add on the baggie. I boil water in my 750ml Titanium cup then add the meal to the boiling water & wait 10 minutes. IF you make a homemade Koozie out of Reflectix I guaranteel you enjoy a HOT HOT meal right down to the last sportful. Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada U.S.A.

I'm trying to get into camping. I hope one day to have q friend I can share adventures with too. Awesome video!!
I made the comment before I saw spider bites. Maybe I should rethink camping. Just kidding, but those were rough!
Thank you!! 🫶🏼
Spray your sleeping bag with Permethrin before your next hike.
Will do 🫡🙏🏼

That's a great question! I didn't get blisters from wet shoes but I did get sand under my teva straps, which cut my toes up :( Thank you so much!
Wear wool socks... or bring water shoes for water crossings. Both options work well.
Your hat looks perfect! Where is it from?
Dude my sleeping pad of over a decade gave up the ghost on my last camping trip lmao I eventually got some sleep but only because I was exhausted.. that ground was hard asf
ahh yeah that validates my decision to always bring a foam pad haha
one spider did all that?!?! how big was it
Immediate like to support the best creator I know ❤🫶🏼
Omg thank you 🥹
