Awesome unit! I was with my dad when he bought one in 1978 and I had nearly the same experience as you working on the exterior as a teen in the summer of 1988! I Just recently had the amplifier rebuilt for $250.00 and it was worth every cent to get the full sound these machines are able to produce! Enjoy! - I'm going to play some Roy Orbison right now!
I found one on Craigslist & my friend bought it !! All original & was in a home for many years & is real nice original shape..Just needs cleaned up & one of the lower glass panes is cracked..I plan to post a video of it soon!!!!
i remember when i was a kid my dad worked for an amusment company and he used to service theese. this brings back great memories ,thanks for doing this video.
Great job on restoring that R, it looks, great, sounds great, and you kept everything original. The cloth really looks nice ,. The Seeburg R I have posted is all original except the cloth and I put stainless steel plates at the bottom bewteen the glass panels, instead of the simulated wood, other than that and the stereo cartridge it is all original.
It doesn't have the original "redhead" cartridge but the Pickering 345-03 update. But then, that's a good thing as long as the tone arm springs (lighter tracking) and amp were modified. Your records will last longer and you can still get new needles. Very nice machine. I wish I could afford one.
Absolutely beautiful Seeburg 100R!! Fantastic job! You were extremely fortunate with the chrome. I can't believe you didn't have to work with the chrome pieces at all. Did you at least need to use a buffing wheel on the chrome?
Fonzi hit a 1953 Seeburg G, which was made the year before the Seeburg R. Also note in the opening credits of happy days they showed a 1951 Seeburg model C
Hi, That's a very nice Seeburg. I restore Seeburg pianos and jukeboxes. The paperwork you have is the Installation and Operation Manual which came with every machine. The "popcorn" decal is not original to the machine, and was added during the 1960's when the pricing went up from a nickel to 10 cents a play/3 for 25. When I restore these I remove those decals. Also, I'd be very interested in talking to you about the person that did your cabinet refinish. Is that possible?
She’s a beauty! I always enjoy restoration stories like that. You and your friend did a wonderful job!
Beautiful machine! Congratulations on a sharp restoration.
Beautiful machine! Just love Seeburgs! You did a great job restoring it.

Looks Great!! Just bought one and the selector mechanism is stuck in position and will not pick up the record. Do have any ideas how to repair this?
