That's not actually from the 80's though, these styles were popular centuries ago. The 80's just took it from there and made it a little different 😉. And yes, fashion always comes back
For fashion school we are trying out sleeves as our first sewing exercise and tbh it was quite difficult for me to understand it, but seeing your tutorial helped me so much, thank you. i love your channel and your beautiful dresses ♥️
Thank you for the free pattern! I've been loving big sleeves lately. all my projects have been including them! Also, the shirring so much fun! I learned how to do it a while ago, its much more comfortable and satisfying than trying to fuss with a piece of elastic.
I love your colour choices and the clothes you make. My favourite sleeve is the first one although I love them all. I might have a go at making that one as I have been gifted some shirring thread.
I loooove big sleeves, probably because I am really into late victorian fashion lol. The 1890s are the best fashion era with their gigot sleeves I swear
@@RoseryApparel Thank You! I have a question though, could I hem and shirr the sleeves before doing the side seam? Because I feel that would be easier.
Wow this is amazing I like all three sleeves and thank you for clear explanations of yours. I recently began to sew my own clothes and this is really helpful.❤
As always, such a lovely idea! Can't wait to make those sleeves! Your videos have such a clear structure, it's very easy to follow, thank you so, so much for the great work! Happy Easter :)
I saw your order come through! Thanks so much for purchasing my Rosa pattern 🧡 I’m currently working on another big sleeve video, which might make your choice even harder 😅
Your videos are exactly what I've been looking for, but your instructions are a bit vague. Maybe because I'm a beginner, but I would love to see more in-depth tutorials! It would be super helpful. Thank you :)
Love love LOVE this tutorial! Thank you so much for sharing. I have just started sewing and used your other tutorial to make a tote bag and scrunchies. Just wondering what scissors you are using? Maybe a sewing essentials video would be useful for new beginners!
Trina Ainu'u Heyy I don’t know how things are in your region, but generally you want to use very sharp scissors that you’re then only using for fabric and nothing else (paper dulls scissors). I got my scissors from ikea :)
The last sleeve looks amazing! I’m a total beginner and your videos inspire me to learn how to sew, I hope soon I will be able to try the fancy sleeves. Thank you so much for your great work! Happy Easter ⭐️
Thank you for this video and offering the pattern. You are very talented! By the way, what is the pattern of the shirt you are wearing in the video? It is lovely!
This is perfect timing as I was planning to make a puff sleeve blouse... For the shirring, the bobbin is obviously threaded with the shirring elastic, but what about the top stitch? Am I threading the machine with shirring elastic or normal thread? Haha, sorry if the question is a bit dumb but I've never done this before.
Hello Janelle, thank you so much for the free sleeve pattern ! I have a little question, is the seam allowance included in it and if so, how much is it ? Again, thank you, i love the ones on the floral dress, so pretty !!
Saya jadi ingin menjahit baju lagi setelah sekian lama tdk ingin membuat baju sendiri karena menonton video2 anda yang sangat menarik..Thank you so much..
Hello! Can i use poplin for the sleeves? I've just bought the Rosary pattern and I was wondering what type of fabric can I use. I want to make a dress with jersey fabric, poplin.... Sorry for my englesh! 😗
would it be possible to use the second sleeve (the red dress) with an elastic in the cuff instead of gathers and a cuff? just to make it more comfortable/easy to fit?
I have a dress I bought online but its a puff sleeve with gathers also on the wrist, how do I remove the puff shoulders only and keep the wrist gathers?
I’ve shared how to make sleeveless dresses here: ruclips.net/video/lyi8cOZvw9g/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/XQI-zO2-Xhg/видео.html and this top here: ruclips.net/video/xwqffg3dE1I/видео.html

Wow...I really should have kept all my clothes from the 80's...looks like those styles are back in fashion again...who knew?
yes! it's like 80's meets prairie girl
@@crashofthemoons Yes!!! I'm so into ths!!

Annika Victoria has a great tutorial on shirring, I recommend you check it out. It's pretty comprehensive.
@@roshpotter06 Great! Thanks so much!
It’s a good question! I just used normal thread in the machine and just the shirring elastic on the bobbin 😊
@@RoseryApparel Ok, thanks so much!!
😍 wow, u give me an idea for do my own dress with this sleeve.
Yay happy to hear that 😄🧡
Thank you 😚💕💕💕
Thank you so much for this pattern! What sewing machine would you recommend for a beginner? Thanks
You’re welcome! The brother SL500 is very similar to my machine and it would be a good beginner model 😊
Hello Janelle, what kind of fabric did you use on the dusty blue dress? It’s gorgeous!
Thanks so much! There’s a link to it in the video description 😊

Hi there! I have a couple of patterns available, with plans on many more in the future 🧡 You can find them here: www.roseryapparel.com/shop
Nice video. Can you please do a tutorial on the blouse you are wearing. Thanks from your new subscriber
Hello!
Can i use poplin for the sleeves? I've just bought the Rosary pattern and I was wondering what type of fabric can I use. I want to make a dress with jersey fabric, poplin.... Sorry for my englesh! 😗
Thank you so much for your support! Yes poplin is perfect for the Rosa dress 😊🧡
Lovely xxx
You could probably stretch and stitch some 1/4 inch elastic for a similar look in sleeve one....
would it be possible to use the second sleeve (the red dress) with an elastic in the cuff instead of gathers and a cuff? just to make it more comfortable/easy to fit?
It will have a different look, but yes you totally can!
I looove the blouse you are wearing!! Did you make it too? ☺️
Thank you! Yes I did 😄
❤
I have a dress I bought online but its a puff sleeve with gathers also on the wrist, how do I remove the puff shoulders only and keep the wrist gathers?
I assumed you like outfit with sleeve? Can you teach how to add sleeve on some sleeveless or strapless top /dress

Hello Can you tell me whitch templante toi use for the first dress?
PS : for the dress not for the sleves please
Bye and i love your vidéo ❤️
It’s McCall’s 7974 😊
Another lovely video Janelle. :-)
Thank you!🧡
i'm fucking crying this is so cute i wanna do this to all my dresses
Question; can I do the shearing (is that what it is called?) effect in dress 1 by gathering the fabric and not shearing it? Will it not work and literally not ruffle the sleeve?
Good question! It might be worth a try, but it won’t ruffle as nicely as the shirring elastic I don’t think 😊
Rosery Apparel Ahh right, I will try both! Thank you!
On the third sleeves, I don’t like the bottom poofy part. Can I just do the top?
❤️❤️❤️
How do I know what size to use on the free pattern provided?
Supper
Hey can I plz know the music which u have used in ur video plz song name or artist name plz
😍
How well does your rosery apparel pattern work for american plus sizes?
Not sure what the difference between American and Australian sizes is, but there are measurements in the pattern listing so you can check what size will be right for you 😊
Hi there is that 12inh across or down.
Your pattern is nice but why separate 2-14 and 14-24? It's already pricey as it is, it should include all the sizes.
