ohmygosh...you're right. had a driveway project that was supposed to take 4 months....took a lil over a year...about 3.14 times longer. hahahaha

As an older person it is a joy to see this old beauty being loved and handled with care. You are certainly blessed to be able to not only afford her but to be able to restore her beauty and enjoy her another lifetime 😊
Older people were really imaginative with house reno. My brother bought my grandmother's house and while renovatinf they realized that they had glued the kitchen back splash with basic craft glue, like the white gue we used in the elementary. Why and how that lasted for DECADES is a mystery.

Like you, I love being "Home Alone", so I get the stress of have so many people in and out. I'm getting ready to have two bathrooms remodeled, a six week job and so many people! I'm going to be crazy by the end.

we did our shingles ourselves but never had the funds to do the soffit facia and evestroughs. It's been 25 years for us. I'm happy for you to have it all done this year, early in your home ownership journey. No more worries about leaks, poor drainage, rodent access points etc. Hope it gets done before Halloween!!

LOL your feelings about workers is so relatable - outsourcing something awkward and time-consuming is such a relief - but then the tradeoff is having PEOPLE in your space! Crossing my fingers that it's all finished up for you soon!

While they're doing roofing, they also have to make sure everything under it is good. Otherwise, they'll be out fixing it every time it rains. Trust the process and be glad they're being so thorough.
On the skeleton topic, I could picture it doing a handstand in the yard, hanging off the roof with hands toward the door, or it laying on its side on your roof.
Roofing is such a horrible job. Imagine its harder on a older building. Awesome you're getting this done!
