Great video Michael. You are the best House sitter we have ever had.
Thanks David! I took it as an honour to stay there and tried to have the full experience as best I could.
...and you handle a right-hand drive car like a pro!!! Hope you kept that 7-Up bottle.. Great video. Thanks Mike!!
The 7Up bottle is a collectors item. It been laying there for probably at least 50 years.
I hope you keep this gig going.... you should find unique places and give people a vacation and get the exclusive filming rights while their gone. I love the house coat on the seawall
Sunshine sunlight...The bright morning has begun at Stanley Park...making my heart blow away...💖
I live downtown Vancouver and love that I always learn something new with your videos. Just awesome.
Awesome! Thank you!
I don't know if someone already told you, but soda bottles are typically dated on the bottom with raised numbers of the year of manufacture.
I was just recently made aware of your channel and have been binge watching. You're impressive and quite interesting. Thank you for sharing.
Strolling out in your dressing gown drinking coffee whilst the sun comes up. THAT is what living in Stanley Park is really like.
Really enjoy your vids. Thanks
Right?!! Thanks Andy!
With the current weather, I've been loving my Pantavus jacket, by the way. Thanks for the recommendation!
Just ordered my jacket! Thanks for the discount code. I’ve been looking for a rain jacket for a long time. And having one that is made in Vancouver? Awesome! I’m excited to try it soon :)
Ok I’m cv
Good morning Michael, I really didn't think your videos could get any better but they just keep getting more and more fun & interesting on so many levels. As an older Vancouverite I might be biased but from the comments I read you are loved globally. Keep living your best life and thank you for taking me with you ❤
My brother got married in the park and he had the reception at the teahouse (2019)... it was wonderful
Hehe He got married right next to the teahouse where you showed yourself after you came out of it with a small group of 13 people present including the bride groom and officiant.
I do believe your experiences from unexpected delays on train rides helped your enjoyment behind the horse and carriage. Nice to stay positive in all circumstances.
Very cool again Mike! I am so enjoying all the stuff you share with us. It is such a privilege for you to be living there for now. I had to go into St. Paul’s Hospital for the next week so reading your blog brought a little brightness to a crappy day.
can't wait to come back again. Vancouver was such a great experience as a solo traveller.
Whoaa, I wanna go visit that old Polar Bear exhibit, such a small detail of Stanley Park that is so cool!
Awesome video! I've been in Surrey for 11 years and I haven't explored Stanley Park yet. I don't want to wait for my 5-month old kid to turn 11 before doing so! Thanks for the preview of what to expect, Mike!
The twirl of the keys and blow on them like a smoking barrel made me laugh out loud. The coolest bathroom locking in Stanley Park!
Another fantastic video.Loved the hack of opening the car window so you could listen to the horse & carriage compentaary!😀
Love your channel, just started binge watching your videos from Edmonton. I felt like i was there as well when watching your videos, informative and entertaining…
I miss my old neighborhood. I used to commute by foot through Stanley Park, over the Lions Gate Bridge to my job at Park Royal. I wish they would eliminate the horse and buggy in the park (for the horses sake) especially in the heat of the summer.
Very cool. Great support for the ecological society. Beautiful venues for the restaurants in the park.
It really is!
Mike that is one fine spot to live for a month. Not sure about the winter but it indeed a beautiful spot. One more for my Vancouver list. Oh yes I would go for the lamb too.
Love your content. Thanks to you ive been traveling all over the place! Canada 🇨🇦 is beautiful but I must admit I love the BC region
Mike this video , absolutely amazing
keep up the good work !!
The restaurants in Stanley Park both looked great, something we don't have here in Golden Gate Park. Stanley Park is so green, I'm surprised it has a fire danger. Nice touch of Grieg with your morning coffee.
This summer in Vancouver (and a lot of the province) has been exceptionally hot and dry. We don't usually have closures of the park due to fire risk, but the city has been very dry (thankfully the rains have now returned).
This summer was very hot , but Vancouver normally gets a lot of rain in the colder months compared to San Francisco .
also there were lot of deadly heat wave this year
It's nice to know that the Stanley Tea Houses still is around. Over the years, when my spouse n I visit Vancouver, we try to have tea at one of them. "WE" live here?? Who's with you, Mike?
My bestie and I went there for afternoon late lunch last year during covid height and was pleasantly surprised by the elegance of the service, the feeling of complete comfort with the health&safety measures plus the excellent food. I can't wait to go back now.
Sunset sunrise...just being my guide...let's keep going together...💖
Nice to see the work of the Stanley Park Ecological Society featured! I like the bat houses.
Michael your videos are wonderful, entertaining, and very warming! I wish to travel soon to Canada 😭 I hope you’re having an amazing day and please stay safe! ✨
Thank you! You too!
What a great video.....Well there is always a sudden feeling when we see some of your videos,It took my breath away!!!!
It must be my extreme good luck to have got a chance to see such a beautiful video.
Thanks once again guys!!!
Good to see folks out digging up invasive species! It's a lot of work. I go help out occasionally with different groups here around Toronto. We have to be so careful with what we're putting in our gardens!
Nice housecoat btw 😉
Fantastic episode Mike! Thoroughly enjoy your videos and your narrative about everything. It’s been so cool seeing and learning about Stanley Park. I hope when I ever get there again I’ll certainly look at it all differently and enjoy it more. Thanks as always for sharing your videos. Peace and Calm. 👍🏻😎🇨🇦
Someone may have mentioned this, but you showed the polar bear exhibit in this episode. When I saw it, I knew it looked familiar and I was pretty sure I knew from where. Most of the show Psych, while set in Santa Barbara, was actually filmed in Vancouver. The episode "Dead Bear Walking" had many scenes filmed right there at the polar bear exhibit in Stanley Park! I'm calling this a cross over episode!
Very efficient park and well taken care of too. Beautiful!!!
Just got my jacket. Thanks for the discount!!! Can't believe that it still worked.
Amazing! Great to hear! Enjoy Roland. It's raining in Vancouver today
My boyfriend and I went and stayed in the rail car room in Cranbrook because of you! Just thought I would share that haha
Got myself a Pantavus Trench! We are moving to Vancouver from Ontario so I was looking for a good rain jacket. Love the style and practicality. Glad I woke up this morning to check for one of your videos!
Living at Stanley Park...it makes my heart melting...💖
Thanks for telling us about the Pantavus jackets!
You're welcome! I love it!
Week after week your videos keep getting better and better. I don't know where you're going, but I want to be there with you (so I can enjoy these wonderful videos). Keep on keeping on.
wonderful of you to grace my feed on this beautiful saturday :) love from edmonton!
My pleasure 😊
I lived in Stanley park for a year Homeless at the time. I had a structural unit made outta pallets and plywood. Wet and cold is what life in Stanley park is. Really sketchy after dark wouldn’t recommend walking lots of violence
White, Caucasian Vagrants and homeless.
lol Tea House resto is part of the chain suing the Park Board for implementing the bike lanes and saying it affected their business meanwhile they are dependent on large-scale tourism/cruiseships etc
this would have been a good time for you to do another hometown video since you'll be there for a month. Love your videos! can wait for more and see where you end up next ;)
If Sydney ever gets out of lockdown, I still wanna fly you here
great video!! now I'll have to visit those restaurants!!!
Looks like a great experience living in the park? Enjoy and be safe!!! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for sharing your story sir watching from Tisdale Saskatchewan
A salad?!?! For breakfast?!?! As John Pinette says, a salad isn't food, it is the promise that food is coming. After that morning, you deserved a salmon Benedict with home fries (with a bit of the Benedict sauce on the potatoes), great toast with strawberry jam, and a decent-sized pot (a Brown Betty, of course) of Constant Comment, the finest tea in the world, with a nice fruit and cheese plate to finish off. Excuse me, I need to go eat.
you always give me zach braff vibes...and I'm here for it.
thanks Micheal this was great, hoping to be in Vancouver next year(if i can leave Australia) looks like i can spend a whole day at Stanley Park. Adding this to my itinerary.
Have fun!
You sure to travel a lot!I really miss traveling but watching your videos makes me feel like I am traveling!
One request-Could you try to cover Flight Trips Reports as well?
Another great video Mike. Always having a great time. Cheers
Always! Thanks Bill!
I miss Stanley Park so much. I miss the west coast. I miss British Columbia. It’s been 15 years. 😣
- Me too. September 2006.😩😭
Me too! 24 years
I hear you. Left in 89. Been back many times and still feels like home.
Your closing shot was so beautiful.
By the smoke haze, it was shot last week. Maybe on a Friday?...
Great Video Mike, Stay safe and just remember to watch out for those coyotes .
Michael thought you would be bored house sitting but you do a good job of looking outside the box with your creativity and entertaining us. Thanks
I appreciate that!
Mike is seriously high on life and never fails to put a smile on my face. great video dude !
I so happy to find out hard hack is local!
Loved it, we back in full code red lockdown in New Zealand 😢😭
😢
Great positive video. I am feeling sad about the mismanagement of the Park. Aquarium sold to an American for profit company, coyotes attacks because they were not managed and my inability to visit the park any longer due to lack of access and parking. I'm unable to walk more than 1 block. So glad to see your positive happy vibe. Makes me confident the above issues will be resolved after the next election
Holy smokes. I left Vancouver two years ago. Stanley Park is what I miss the most, but it seems like the city's going out of their way to kill it.
Another great video Mike! I've eaten at both those restaurants......many years ago. Love how you donned your housecoat and with coffee in hand walked over to the seawall! I can tell you are having a blast living in Stanley Park! Thanks for sharing all that you do because I love tagging along every Saturday morning!
See any of the coyotes being out there alone? And do u bring anything for protection when you're alone? Thanks for the content Mike!
The days of looking big and making lots of noise are over. That tacit doesn''t even work for the Stanley Park squirrels. lol
SPOILER ALERT: he doesn’t actually live there, he’s just staying there temporarily 🙄
Awesome vid Mike, as always! Did miss your "I don't know where I'm going next ..." sign off though. Watching your experiences helps get my travel fix from here in Auckland, New Zealand while the world is grounded. Stanley Park is a gem, so can't wait to visit Vancouver again when things open up!
Awesome insight of what goes behind the scenes. We wish to visit Stanley Park one day! When we do, we can appreciate it even more now! Thank you
I’m in Vancouver rn for a trip. And so far it’s been so fun!
Have been hearing a lot about aggressive coyotes in Stanley Park? Can we expect a video on them soon?
Personally, I'm not a fan of the bike lane. I don't think cyclists need a whole car lane for space, they should have just expanded the road a bit or made the sidewalk by the road a bikelane.
Doing so many amazing things.
Another interesting video, thank you! 🤗
I Love the woodlands and urban areas of Vancouver, hope to visit someday just to chillout
Also probably horses shouldn't be exploited for their labor.
What right hand vehicle are you driving and where did you purchase it from? It’s nice to see a another right hand driver haha!
I’m stoked for the bike lane!
Jeeeez, maybe all bikes should start paying road taxes and build their own damn roads.
Discovered your channel last week.
Love your content, ignites the desire for adventures and travel!
Although, I am nervous to head out for a solo trip, I will settle for your videos for now.
Please continue to create awesome content ♥️
Awesome! Welcome!
And enjoy your trip, whenever and wherever it is!
Don’t be nervous. Thousands of people travel solo. There are numerous FB groups, (and lots are women). It’s fantastic!
@@nadogrl Thank you so much for the encouragement! ♥️
I know you are right, it’s something I’ll have to overcome 😊
Lets hope the rangers trap the coyotes in the park... 40 people have been bitten since December!
Hey can you help take care of a few of those coyotes while you're there? thanks
Mike, your eyeballs look like The Archangel Michael...is that hazel...💖
Merci de nouveau. Another great look at what Mike's up to. The fire risk looks very high with all of that grass browning out for lack of rain - but it's summer and those of us from the Pacific Coast are used to that.
The fire crews have doused at least one over night fire so far. Next to the wind storm, fire in Stanley Park is my biggest nightmare.
I am so looking forward to this week. Thank you. Thank you SPES. I learn something new every episode.
I enjoy your videos. I had a question. Is it just an effect of the video or is your car right hand drive? Keep up the good work.
Mike check everything in the park, there might be more hidden spots in the park.
So cool you got to spend the month in Stanley Park. And I always enjoy the 9 O'Clock gun....especially if there are those around not expecting it to go BOOM. LOL
No doubt!
Now THAT is a backyard 🤘🏻😍
Gotta use it all!
Dude try and see the sharks.
They are buy that tall skinny rock around the sea wall. Someone posted about it on the Vancouver subreddit
Those lamb chops looked delicious, my favorite!!
Awesome video Michael
Great video Mike ! 🤓✌🏽 Stanley park is so big and it’s amazing how much stuff to experience in the park and I learn all that from you Mike 😎😉
It’s such an interesting place. Glad you appreciate it, Kristian!
Mike why do you have a right hand drive car?
Very cool Mike
I used to be a background actor on movies and I remember being at the Stanley Park Pavilion in the heat in a suit and almost passing out haha that's all I can think about when I see that place
That opening scene with you carrying your coffee carafe to the beach in your robe summed it up!!! If you start your morning like that, you KNOW it's going to be a great day :)
So true!
Fun story, a few decades ago my mother was celebrating a friend's dinner at the Teahouse, and they met Jean Chretien! Great video btw. Super cool that you're repping the SPES.
Hi Mike! Thanks for the Pantavus discount code. I just ordered an All Purpose Trench and will be returning another I bought and haven't worn yet. Much better qualtiy - a technical jacket for essentially the same price. Can't wait for it to arrive.
Yes! Exactly! They’re really great!
Great video as always. It has been way too long since my last visit to Stanley Park.
Want a different adventure within the park? Try geocaching there.
Great recommendation!
Thank you for sharing!
Really enjoy watching your videos. Have you encountered any of the coyotes they been talking about in the park ?
