Yeah. After watching the whole show, when I came back and watched some scenes from this movie, hearing Lee’s voice come out of this Dooku just sounded so freaking weird. I found myself definitely preferring Burton’s voice for this role.
It's probably because he isn't talking like he does in the films, he's basically using a slightly more evil sounding version of his real voice, not sure why this is the case, but I'm sure he would do better as Dooku when voicing like he usually does.
This was actually a really bad ass saber fight and considering this was an earlier animation for the team, it’s impressive to see they always knew how to make a good saber fight
Notice how Dooku didn't fight elegant in this fight. He didn't do his usual Makashi salute. He was just pissed off and wanted to get it done as quickly as possible hahahaha
This scene is SO good, there really is a difference between Lee and Corey Burton. The music and voice makes this so powerful and emotional when its really just about Jabbas son XD
I really like this scene, the music, the lightsaber combat was intense, the dialogue was very good. The movie wasn’t the best, didn’t really do justice for the whole series, but this scene in particular I really like a lot.
Anakin in the clone wars and in the beginning of RoTS, you can see he was truly a good man, not some whiny kid like in AoTC, he really was then a Jedi knight, conflicted, yes, but rage filled and hateful, no, the dark side took him over and he simply became a slave, It shows that even the best people can be taken over by there inner demons, or in this case, the dark side
The battle between the best Dooku and the best Anakin (No discredit to Corey Burton, he did amazing on the show, but one can't deny the certain flair Christopher Lee gave the role. May he rest in peace
I know this is an old comment, but I honestly think Lee gave a better live action performance. He sounds a bit awkward doing voice acting. Corey Burton sounds more natural. On that same note, people criticized Corey Burton's live action Cad Bane.

1:47 excuse me dooku, skywalkers insignificant little padawan just beat maul, survived an encounter with the emperor, and fought equally with Vader for a short time.
1. Maul destroyed her in the duel, when he got serious he disarmed her in just a few seconds, she didn’t beat him, only captured him 2. She just pushed back sith Alchemy which is nowhere near as powerful as his lightning and still got badly injured in her arm 3. She fought a conflicted Vader and was still losing badly, they were not equals, she was still far less powerful than him. I’m not downplaying Ahsoka, I’m just tired, of people misinterpretating her fights, yes, she is powerful but not that powerful.
@@jploz4092 1. Ashoka DID beat maul. It was already stated that maul was the better duelist, but Ashoka won the fight. Simple as that. As they say: the proof is in the pudding. If on flat ground, maul might of won, but we don’t know. Ashoka won because of her wits and her force ability. Maul lost because of his arrogance, which we all know is a common dark side flaw. Simple as that. 2. Yes, she DID survive an encounter with the emperor, and we have absolutely no idea in canon how powerful his sith alchemy technique was. If the fire actually touched her, what if she burst into a million pieces? You can’t make assumptions based off of information you don’t have. 3. She was one of the only Jedi ever to fight against Vader and meet the amount of success that she did. Vader was more powerful. I am not denying that. In fact, I didn’t deny that in my original comment. Ashoka got a strike against Vader’s head. NO other Jedi was able to do that. If Vader didn’t have plot armor, (having to be alive for episodes 4,5,6) that strike Ashoka got against his head would have been a beheading. She is powerful, and is incredibly powerful. She was imbued with the power of the Daughter. She wasn’t a chosen one or a yoda, but by the time of the mandalorian she was extraordinarily powerful. She was an above average duelist, but the feats with the force she displays are things we’ve only seen upper echelon characters like sidious, windu, Vader, yoda, and maul do.

I know it's not the most advanced lightsaber duel in the clone wars but honestly this one is my favorite and has so much weight behind it. It's the first time they fight since he cut off anakin's arm so the suspense is great. The music fits with the scenes too
It's kind of obvious that Dooku holds a great hatred towards Anakin. The reason why... is he's jealous. Anakin reminds Dooku of himself back in his own youth and prime. He is embittered towards Anakin who has his youth, handsomeness, force power, skill, his own popularity as a hero to the Republic, and still having more potential to become an even more powerful Jedi than Dooku ever was At this point, Dooku was stronger than Anakin but only to a point, due to his greater experience, knowledge and mastery of force powers and skill with a lightsaber while Anakin had Dooku beat in strength, stamina and potential, but Anakin's lesser experience along with his own recklessness backfired on him more than once when he'd faced Dooku

Yeah. After watching the whole show, when I came back and watched some scenes from this movie, hearing Lee’s voice come out of this Dooku just sounded so freaking weird. I found myself definitely preferring Burton’s voice for this role.
Maybe we’re more used to it.
I bet if lees was in the more of the show than you'd change your mind.
Yeah, they struggled with some characters early on (most notably Ventress) but for the most part the duels hold up.
Let this be a lesson from Count Dooku : don't phone and lightsaber fight
Your training has come a long way *Boii*
Notice how Dooku didn't fight elegant in this fight. He didn't do his usual Makashi salute. He was just pissed off and wanted to get it done as quickly as possible hahahaha
This scene is SO good, there really is a difference between Lee and Corey Burton. The music and voice makes this so powerful and emotional when its really just about Jabbas son XD
Corey Burton is phenomenal as Dooku, but in this scene Lee kills it!
The Animation has come a long way
0:52 took me awhile to figure it out, but back in Legends, dooku was the one who ordered shmi's capture/death
Wonder how Anakin didn't turn to the Dark Side right here, when surrounded by the very most things he hates, Dooku and sand
_"Look, i have a message from your padawan"_
*Shows her getting jumped by commando droids*
This man's mid-combat shit talking was immaculate 😂😂
Obi-Wan Kenobi : "I am the greatest troll in the Galaxy !"
Count Dooku : "Hold my banana-shaped lightsaber"
That was Dooku's backup plan. He aimed to win the upper hand by showing Anakin that Ahsoka is fighting for her life.
Magna Guards
I really like this scene, the music, the lightsaber combat was intense, the dialogue was very good. The movie wasn’t the best, didn’t really do justice for the whole series, but this scene in particular I really like a lot.
Ah the voice acting, the music, and the choreography of the duel are amazing
finally on hd! I love this scene ! thanks
Dooku: Wait, how the hell would I get back?! Damn you, Skywalker!
*sigh* I'll just get an Uber to pick me up.
Anakin pulled a GTA at the end.
1:17 That Jump Oh my god.
That score though....
it always saddens me to see how strong willed anakin was, to go to being so broken that he becomes vader
Palpatine was an abusive father (mentally and emotionally), Anakin just didnt realize it.
Anakin is insecure and weak minded these traits become more pronounced when he becomes Vader. His only real positive is his strong force sensitivity.
@@phamun6297 he is not weak-minded but he is insecure , ill give you that
2:31 Count Dooku, one of the most skillful lightsaber duelists of all time, sucker punched in the face. Gotta be the best moment in this by far.
In the 2003 Clone Wars, he had some whinieness and disobedience as well until Obi-Wan told the council it was time to knight Anakin
Dooku is usualy a more elegant fighter. Here he was in rage mode
3:01 laughing emote battlefront 2
That laugh though.
Crazy how dooku outclassed anakin until he got to old to keep up, anakin stood no chance🤣
I remember having watched this as my first time hearing of star wars and not knowing of episodes I to VI at the time, and after season 1 finally watching every star wars movie. AND THIS DUEL!!!! This duel was when I knew Star Wars would forever become a part of my life!!
So this was first experience to star wars?
pretty much, considering i was a kid then, and also that my family never watched star wars until i did, so YEAH, and anakin became my favorite character instantly, even after watching AOTC xD
When Vadar and Ahsoka meet in Rebels, this is how I imagine their confrontation will be like.
Aaand what do you think?
@@SadAndVengeful their fight was better then I expected hahahaha
Dooku: "insignificant padawan"
The same padawan who mops the floor with his predecessor AND successor?
1:47 excuse me dooku, skywalkers insignificant little padawan just beat maul, survived an encounter with the emperor, and fought equally with Vader for a short time.
This takes place before all that
@@tantris2876 i am aware, I am emphasizing how arrogant dooku was.
1. Maul destroyed her in the duel, when he got serious he disarmed her in just a few seconds, she didn’t beat him, only captured him
2. She just pushed back sith Alchemy which is nowhere near as powerful as his lightning and still got badly injured in her arm
3. She fought a conflicted Vader and was still losing badly, they were not equals, she was still far less powerful than him.
I’m not downplaying Ahsoka, I’m just tired, of people misinterpretating her fights, yes, she is powerful but not that powerful.
@@jploz4092 you had the same pfp as me and I thought it was a glitch of me getting a notification of me commenting.
@@jploz4092
Even when I watched this as a little kid, I had such an appreciation for the great soundtrack for this fight. Watching it now is just indescribable.
I know, right? The score from this scene is epic.
Fun fact
Many people think that 0:08 is the OST but really it Dooku’s swagged out imperial speeder horn loop
The coolest thing about this version of Dooku is that Sir Christopher Lee actually played his voice
I think the rivalry of Dooku and Anakin is way better then Vader and Luke
The12thman It is a pretty nice rivalry.
Vader and Luke rivalry was pretty shortlived. Luke didn't really care for him until the second half of Empire Strikes Back and at the end of it he figures out he is his father and the rivarly is ended.
Mr J Well Vader and Luke didn’t want to kill each other.
Vader and Luke have a much more compelling character arc/s than a cool rivalry lol
@@skatemo100 Vader and Luke had much more concise and satisfying story in the second half of ESB and with ROTJ. It isn't as much about the physical rivalry as it is about their story.
But Dooku VS. Anakin in the Clone Wars cartoon is dragged into dozens of episodes in a physical rivalry.
Vader and Luke: Better story
Dooku and Anakin: Better rivalry
This is the best part of The Clone Wars movie. Rest in peace Christopher Lee.
1:02 - 1:10 Anakin tried to use the one thing he hated the most to gain an advantage but it backfired, the sand…… it was always against him….😂
When you're on a Count Dooku killstreak and some Anakin noob tries to fight you 3:01
Just watched the last episode and had to return to where it began 12 years ago
1:04
*Anakin flash backs to “I hate sand, it gets everywhere.”*
Anakin: “I have an idea!”
Personally this is my favorite scene of the entire movie.
The way this fight starts feels a lot like the pre-battle cutscene of a fighting game
2:43 The best part of the OST
Putting the memes about sand and Dooku laughing aside, this is actually one of the best lightsaber duels in the show and Star Wars as a whole.
Did Christopher Lee voice Count Dooku at all outside of the movie, or did he go into the TV show as well?
+Randoman590 He voiced Dooku in prequel trilogy and TCW movie, Dooku in TCW show is voiced by Corey Burton.
I wish Lee could've voiced Dooku for the show. Corey Burton does a fantastic job, but I like Lee's performance better.
+Joshua Nichols I agree like why can't use the prequel voices and reprise Their roles
+Steaky and WirelessSage196 which is why Rebels is so awesome since almost all of the Star Wars alumni reprised their roles, from James Earl Jones himself as Vader to Frank Oz as Yoda
+Steaky and WirelessSage196 Possibly budget issues. Hiring the original actors may have been too much for the budget. Disney on the other hand...
Christopher Lee man, he was such an immense actor.
1:11 The face when you realize the sand is corse and rough and that it gets everywhere
1:15 Why is this music so fucking *BOMB?!*
Hi
Why does Count Dooku look like a garden gnome.
An epic one at that
Yeah, he doesn't look like Christopher Lee at all. Even Bail Organa in TCW is more similar to Lee.
His head looks like those giant head statues from Easter Island.
The fact that dooku has to use two hands to even stay in this fight goes to show how good of a duelist anakin is and was even at this point in the war
I genuinely forgot Christopher Lee played Dooku in the Clone Wars movie. Almost feels like Christmas morning.
He is embittered towards Anakin who has his youth, handsomeness, force power, skill, his own popularity as a hero to the Republic, and still having more potential to become an even more powerful Jedi than Dooku ever was
At this point, Dooku was stronger than Anakin but only to a point, due to his greater experience, knowledge and mastery of force powers and skill with a lightsaber while Anakin had Dooku beat in strength, stamina and potential, but Anakin's lesser experience along with his own recklessness backfired on him more than once when he'd faced Dooku
this actually has been one of my favorite scenes through the entire series
I really wish in Revenge of the sith where Anakin says my powers have doubled since we last fought count, I really wish he was referring to this fight but he was referring to the fight on Obadiah
