I've only ever played the GBC version as a kid, so I came to listen to the real thing and my mind is blown....I mean, I was finding a way to jam to those primitive versions back then, so you can imagine how these sound......Epic! It's like I'm seeing clearly for the first time but in an audio sense. The extremely solid bones of the originals carry over enough that my favorites from GBC still remain my favorites here, just soooo much better (barbarian, warlock) the ones I wasn't so fond of make more sense now and are awesome (Sorcerer and knight). So glad I looked this up
It's all nice and easy, then Barbarian Town theme hits and it's like Mr Romero smuggled a real masterpiece from 17/18 century into the unknown game. Nothing shouts more 'I am way over qualified for this job' than this.

The advantage of CD music over using MIDI / AdLib samples. Though there is a certain magic and feel CD music cannot achieve that is only present in AdLib / MIDI.
