    Hi sherine i have question. How is this funtion better then printing something and let the machine scan it and cut it ?

    • @SewandCraftStep-by-Step
      @SewandCraftStep-by-Step  10 месяцев назад +3

      Hi,
      Thanks for the great question.
      With regular scanning using a Jpeg file, if the outline is not solid enough - or bold enough, the machine may not "see" the image perfectly, and it will not cut as accurately.
      It scans and cuts perfectly on any images that have been scanned that have a bold or defined outline, or a good contrast between the image and the background.
      But.... sometimes the images we want to use don't have those properties.
      So, with the Print to Cut program, the image is imported to canvas workspace and the outline is created in there from a PDF image which it will cut perfectly accurately, even though the picture doesn't have bold or defined outlines - or a good contrast between the image and the background.
      I hope this is helpful.
      Please feel free to go over to my website and fill in the short pop-up form.

    Only problem is you can't print and cut large images like 11x17 cause it does not scan the large mat. That's a negative

    • @SewandCraftStep-by-Step
      @SewandCraftStep-by-Step  Год назад

      Hi,
      Thanks for the comment.
      There is an option in CanvasWorkspace (under artboard settings) to select "ledger" 11x17 and include the registration marks.
      So you would be able to design your artwork in CanvasWorkspace - but when you save the artwork as a PDF file, you would need to take the file it to a print and copy shop to have them print it that large for you, as regular domestic printers would not be able to print that size - unless you own a large format printer.
      The printed mage would then be able to be placed on the long mat - scanned and cut.
      Just be sure to change the mat size setting in the machine settings before starting to scan.
      I hope this is helpful.
      Kind Regards,
      Sherine

      Hi Betty,
      You can - but then you will not have the absolute accuracy that you have with the Registration marks being scanned in on the machine.
      I used to do that before the Print to Cut kit came out - and it was not always as successful - so it really is worth investing in the Print to Cut if you want ease and accuracy.😀

    Why transfering to pdf decreases resolution

    • @SewandCraftStep-by-Step
      @SewandCraftStep-by-Step  8 месяцев назад

      Hi,
      Thanks for the great question.
      I find that the image that is imported (traced) plays a big role.
      If it is a good quality image that I export as a PDF, and I set my printer properties to best quality, then my prints turn out really well.
      However, if the imported (traced) image is not a good quality to start with, then it does look a little blurry when converted to a PDF.
      I always only import (trace) using a png file, and NOT jpg.
      I like to open my images in Canva and then download them as png files to use in CanvasWorkspace.
      I have created beautiful printed pictures to use for decoupage projects this way,
      and I have created many pages of stickers some of which I also laminate afterwards and they all look really nice.
      I use a brother printer.
      I hope this is helpful.

      @SewandCraftStep-by-Step  8 месяцев назад

      Hi Betty,
      Thanks for the question.
      There might be 2 things causing this.
      1. Do you have a DX series machine? ( Print to Cut does not work on CM series machines)
      2. If you have a DX machine, have you registered the machine and activated the Print to Cut kit on CanvasWorkspace. Both of these have to be done in order to use the Print to Cut on your machine.
