It’s nice to see an experienced trapper like Robert give his 2 cents. To many RUclips trapping videos from people that don’t know what they don’t know and a new trapper watches the video and takes what the inexperienced trapper does to heart and the new trapper gets off on the wrong foot.

This video I actually enjoyed more so because I actually now have seen someone using long springs and how he beds them. Good job boys. I love my long springs.

Robert is a beast on the trapline! I find it comical when folks try to tell what works and what doesn't work. Very informative video for those with enough sense to soak it in.

@@ManagementAdvantage Casey, it’s pretty obvious. Keep up the good work. I would love to see a long video. I know it takes a ton of filming and editing. A long episode going over prep, travel, trapping, and recap on an out of state trip would be awesome.

Thanks for sharing lots of good information. with the weather patterns we been getting in pa rain turning to ice then single digit artic blasts..I'll be getting few dozen 4 coil duke #3 next year I like my Bridger #2 4 coil also they don't seem to freeze up like my duke #4 4coils...the Bridger #2 actually have stronger springs then the #4 dukes. I do have about 6 duke #3 now but they are just the standard trap 2 coil not offset I'm did catch one coyote this season in one of them. I'll be modifying them for next season

I live in SW Kansas too, coyote trapping has been good, very dry WX this year. However a big snow today, most of the time we don't worry about frozen traps. But they are under ice/frozen snow now! I don't wax much and scent control is no thing out here (you saw how many he was getting).

This is a good one...I wrote an article once about setting on sign ... Waddell says it best .... but I always say if the turd is over here ... don't set your trap over there ... capiche

Great video, I agree with you on scent control not being a big factor. So im just curious, what do you do for trap prep? if you don't believe scent is an issue do you still believe the need to wax traps?

@@jaylaybourn3210 agree you won't get away without scent proofing your traps here in Central pa im 15 min from fox pro headquarters. If you'd tell any of the old trappers around here you don't have to boil and wax your traps they laugh at you. Scent free is a must around here, I sure wish they were that easy around here bc we'd have alot less then.
