    great videos. I started trapping coyotes with snares as a necessity because they began killing new calves. I later learned how heavy they weighed in on the deer population. now its in my blood and love trapping. thanks for the education, going to start foot hold trapping soon

    This is an awesome video as usual! I have to congratulate you, 97 is a really good number for a dirt hole trapper from the states. I've witnessed half your catch in 1 day (49 coyotes and 6 fox) but not a record (biggest I know of is 55 coyotes and 5 fox in 1 day). Too bad the fur price will dip down so badly this year. Put a video up of all the pelts!

    I have watched numerous trapping videos from you and others, what if the area your trapping don't have fences and field edges . I can find sign all over the place rabbits all over the place but, I have yet to connect on coyotes . what are key things to look for in the desert

    Excellent video. Used to trap in high school in the early 80's, back at it again. Coyotes are killing lots of deer and attacking and killing farm animals. People know I trap, and ask me to come trap their property because their are afraid for their stock and house pets. Great and informative video.

    Is there a reason other than improper bedding/packing that would cause them to uncover a set? Had three pulled up last night without even setting it off. Pulled em up pushed em aside and dug the bait out

    • @ManagementAdvantage
      @ManagementAdvantage  9 лет назад

      padriac mccoy Bedding/packing is probably your #1 culprit, but could also be scent on the trap itself. Give them a good boil and clean and that could fix the issue.

    • @ThePatdaddy83
      @ThePatdaddy83 9 лет назад

      I think it was a bedding issue. Caught one this morning in a trap that had previously been pulled. Any tips on keeping from catching foxes? They been in my traps more than yotes

    • @AnglerOutdoors
      @AnglerOutdoors 8 лет назад

      Super late reply but Im gonna say pan tension...they eat the same stuff mostly but maybe there is a marking scent foxes will stay away from.

    Good job on taking them out. I do have to disagree with you on one thing tho.. You said you won't be able to get the numbers you're looking for with peat or anything else. Why can't you when other people can do it?

    • @ManagementAdvantage
      @ManagementAdvantage  10 лет назад

      like i said in the video you can still catch coyotes using other freeze proofing methods.....you will just have alot more dig outs and misses with peat...salt attracts rabbits and deer to the set and glycol has a tendency to wash away if it rains or thaws. I have tried them all and i just want to educate people on the best solutions to have a successful trapping season!

  • @Destructionsan

    Curious. What on earth do you do with all the meat? Coyote doesn't really taste super good, but I suppose you could get used to it. Do you give the meat to the dogs or do you keep it yourself?

    • @Destructionsan
      @Destructionsan 9 лет назад

      First Last
      I think it's more likely they either give it to dogs or dispose of it in the woods somewhere.

    You prefer wax dirt. fine. don't sit there and blow smoke at everybody saying you can't catch "the numbers" with peat moss, etc because that's just ignorant horse crap and very amateurish to claim.
