dude.. you could film on a sidekick from '07 and I'd still watch - RUclips needs more of this, with so many young/new creators trying to start but only having like a bedroom to film in. love the video
Love this!!! I'm turning my bedroom into a studio, with an inflatable bed... Maximise the space, turn the atmosphere into a work one a fun one and then a sleep one, only when its time. Love this and shout out to you for shouting out wifey. Good for you.
Brother you have nothing to be ashamed about your space. You showed the world that your talent can work anywhere. My first studio I could touch both walls when I stretched out my arms. I am excited to see what happens next for you and your family. You on your way!
Love this video. It’s great seeing a fellow parent of really young kids. I do not have the financial ability to get all this stuff but I currently film in a spare room and want to move to our unfinished basement so I was looking for content around that. I’m nervous how the sound might be with just the one mic I have but it’s worth a shot so I can film more. My husband is also great and takes the kids to the park etc when I have to film but I’m thinking about switching my time to film when the kids go to bed. Anyways sorry for the long comment, I appreciate you sharing this so much!
This is such a good video. I love how wholesome it feels 😂 The “slow down” to your kid running off had me dead haha. So crazy how optimized this small space is!
This is exactly the kind of studio walkthrough I was looking for. Realistic example of what can be done with some creative effort. I have a nice polished space upstairs but my family simply living their life can be heard or interuptive to the workflow. Thanks for taking the time to show us your space!
Its like your speaking to my soul lol this is exactly my issue in every single way. Space, kids, acoustics. I might use the moving blanket idea for sure. Appreciate you.
I live in a 640ft2 cabin-style home. My office space is one corner of my bedroom. The biggest challenge is making everything so that it can be put up quickly and taken down quickly. Time is the greatest contender I face, given that I don't have a permanent space to work in. But I'm learning a lot through experimentation and watching videos like these help a lot!
Great video. As I continue to work on mine and watch others I’m starting to realize I have a lot, in my small space (city row house,1 car garage studio).
Josh! This randomly came across my youtube feed. Brother, it is great to see your face! Great video about how to maximize results using what you got. Fantastic!
Family,RUclips, Film making you made me smile when you told your baby go and don't run,😁😁 I try often to make videos when they are sleeping man its so hard coz most of the time I'm also tired!😁
You are so on point about 13:18, 13:3813:42 As someone aspiring to enter the AuthorTube BookTube space I think a few rolls of StoryCubes would go far as track [or rails] for future video projects.
looking great man! i'm in the process of utilizing the space I have in my 400 square ft apartment. this is super helpful and I dig that desk a lot - go birds baby
Just wanted to say that I think your inspirational. Big fan of your work and what you do. U make me want to go out and be creative with my camera. Thank u
Looks great. love the concrete background. I keep playing around with my space, its a similar size to your one. I'm pretty close to were I want to be with it but I think I concern myself with trying to make the background too clean. Currently shooting on at 35mm on S35, mainly for the background however a wider FOV would help with showcasing products while talking.
Your definition of “raw and gritty” must be different than mine 😅What you do is incredible. At least for me I feel like you don’t need to apologize to the audience ever. We like watching you for you and what you do and the information and expertise you provide. Thanks 🙏
@@CineDailies cool thanks a lot man. Just started following you a few weeks back when I found some of your work with the XH2s. Like your style, keep it coming
Man you've made a lot out of a challenging space! As someone who currently works from a dual purpose space (my garage), I can recognize the effort you put into optimizing your studio and desk setup. Loved the video!
solid info. also i have that exact same husky workbench, though i use more of a workbench in my gear room. and have a regular sit/stand desk for computer. I totally hear you on the mounting lights to ceiling. In my podcast room, i did this recently and found an 18" downrod with 5/8" stud and works perfect for getting the lights a little lower than needed.
Solid video as always my guy! I just got around setting up my own studio/office and one of the biggest thing for me was painting the walls in a dark color. It helps so much with light spills!
Keep going man! By the way, please give me the link to buy your blanket (perfect if it's on amazon). I'm in Vietnam and don't have the type like it. Many thanks & good luck to you man.
Very interesting. I'm going to try something similar soon, since I quit my studio room. It has just become too expensive. COVID killed a bunch of jobs and my business hasn't really recovered from that yet. But working on it :)
Not saying your space isn't small. I wish I had my own space. I shoot my videos in a tiny corner in my bedroom. I totally understand about the kids not leaving you alone. My kids do this to me all the time.
I hear ya bro. Niles has the same situation, filming in his bedroom too. I did for a time as well. I understand the struggle and there is t much you can do. I hope you get a room soon!
I am looking for a new key light for talking heads. I see you use the 200D. I’m stuck between the 200D, 300D/X, and 600D. I also shoot Interviews as well. Any recommendations?
Hey man, I'm in the Bay. I love your content. If you ever come this way, I got a set of Cine's I shoot with . Holla if you ever come this way and wanna shoot.
Not about size but how you use it
This comment win 😂
😳
Damn, this should be titled 'no excuses studio'. I'm gonna make a video today...
Haha that goes hard
Top 2 tips are: communication with wife and a door to keep the kids out.

FACTS lolol

LOVE the kiddos constantly in the space. Not great for getting work done....but so wholesome haha
So true! haha
Ooh yeah, thank you very much! I'm also squashed into a tiny space, this vid helped. From freezing & dark Ireland! ☘💪🏽👀👍🏽☘
proper timing! been struggling finding consistency with RUclips angles within my little home office
Yeah man, it gets tough. Move some stuff around. It's actually a great way to practice blocking

The H6 versatility is such a underrated feature. The Mix Pre Is high quality, but its so single use.
Totally, both are great tools. But certainly more use cases for the h6
Extremely relatable and super helpful! We’re downsizing our home and so my space will be a smaller than what I have now. Thanks Joshua!

Just starting RUclips... you've got great camera presence amigo ... subscribed ... and hope to get to your level in 2024.
That shelving unit with the cage fronts is slick. Didn’t see a link for it though. Happen to recall where you snagged that?
Yessir it's from ikea, it's the fjallbo set
