'House NO.81', one of the new haunted house attractions in Halloween Horror Nights 2024 of Universal Studios Beijing, is based on local urban legends of the city, one of the most well-known haunted locations of China: the CHAONEI NO.81 Mansion in Beijing.（朝内81号）
The story of this attraction: A foreign director wants to film a movie based on the story of House NO.81, and visitors are actors who participated in the film.
The original story of Mansion NO.81:
It is said that during World War II, a rich family named Huos lived here. One of the members mercilessly captured a brothel woman and arranged a ghost wedding for the deceased second brother of the Huo family. In despair, the woman jumped off the building and died. Later, the Huo family all died in accidents for no reason, and the mansion left abandoned.
After that, during Chinese Civil War, a family of military officer lived here. Before they retreated to Taiwan, her wife hanged herself in this building.
On rainy and windy nights or full moon nights, there are cries and the sound of broken glass bottles in the rooms of the mansion, though the mansion is completly empty.
Also, there's rumor that a group of workers on the construction site nearby who wanted to explore this mansion has never came back to the work place, and some of the workers reported that they have seen some creepy faces stareing out of the window of the mansion.
