  • Welcome to our review of the Blizzard Ristler V2 Skis! In this video, we'll take a closer look at the features and performance of these skis to help you decide if they're the right choice for you.
The Blizzard Ristler V2 Skis are designed for advanced to expert skiers who want a ski that can handle a variety of conditions. These skis are constructed with Blizzard's Carbon Flipcore D.R.T. technology, which gives them a responsive feel and excellent stability at high speeds. The rocker-camber-rocker profile also provides good edge grip on hardpack while still allowing for easy turn initiation in softer snow.
One of the standout features of the Ristler V2 Skis is their versatility. They can handle everything from groomed runs to off-piste terrain and even some park laps. The skis are also lightweight, making them easy to maneuver and control, even in tight spots.
We tested the Ristler V2 Skis in a variety of conditions, including fresh powder, icy groomers, and moguls. In each situation, the skis performed admirably, providing a stable platform for carving turns and navigating tricky terrain.

I'm a good skier and ski the whole mountain but prefer off-piste. I'm also pretty light at 150# and the usual "expert" level skis are just no fun to ski in conditions other than hard-pack. I loved the old version of the Rustler 9 in trees, bumps, powder and even crud but did notice the chattering tendency on hardpack at high speeds. This didn't really bother me as hardpack wasn't my primary concern. Due to theft, I purchased the 2024 model and I have found them to be a great improvement. They carve really well but don't force you into a specific turn shape and you can modify your turn without being punished; and they are still really good in bumps, trees & powder. As a lighter weight but technically very good skier I find that a lot of the skis marketed to "experts" are just too stiff for me to enjoy in conditions other than carving on hard-pack. And really technical skiing isn't always about the carve. You don't carve much in a chute or bumps, that's where you put all your skills to work (rotary, "slarving" slipping etc.)

the Mantra was coming to mind when i was looking at that ski.. i see that the Rustler has more rocker but the metal looks similar to Mantra.. i did test the Mantra 102 and it was fast and floaty.. i imagine that is what the Rustler 10 would feel like.. would you say the same?

With the extra rocker, this appears it would ski shorter than last year, but sounds like a stronger ski. Does the 24 ski shorter or longer than the 23? Lengths have changed, would you personally go shorter or longer in 24?

Doesn't ski shorter. I had the 172 in the old version and the 174 skis about the same to me but with better edge hold on hardpack. If you liked the 172 I would go with 174.

I love that Blizzard is recycling K2 Pinnacle tech. I guess it is a circular trends just like clothing.

      Yeah, similar, but different

@@OutOfBoundsPodcast they can't just copy it exactly, that is like decade old tech. They just revise it. That to say though, not all old tech are obsolete. They might just need to be display in new light.
To be honest, if K2 would have went the route of the new 2024 Rustler for their Mindbender series they would've hit it out of the park.
