How to PLUMB in a CONDENSER TUMBLE DRYER into a DRAIN

- Hi, this video shows you how to connect up a condenser tumble dryer into a washing machine drain to save you having to empty out the water container after each load. You will need a 'condenser dryer drain kit' which includes a longer hose to connect up to the drain and your tumble dryer will need to be stacked onto or installed next to a washing machine or near a drain.
Many thanks Vince
As an American living in Dubai I had never even heard of a condenser dryer before we moved here. We typically have vented ones in the States. Vented dryers do not work well here in Dubai as the houses are not built for it. Loved your video! It was extremely helpful! Got it all sorted in about 10 min! The instruction manual that came with the machine was a joke!
thank you Vince, I inadvertently dislodged the hoses and have had dreadful leaks. I was attempting to fix the hoses back in place and I've searched high and low to find a manual that shows the correct positioning of the two hoses and was SO relieved to find your video explaining how to check that the hoses are in place and working.
I have similar looking model (Ariston TCD97B), which have exactly the same wrong manual and the same set of black and white pipes on the back. Thanks to this video I was able to connect the tumble dryer into the drain. Thank you very much!
nice one vince. instructions would leave steven hawking baffled, this has just saved me hours.. cheers lee
Thanks for that. So helpful in identifying which pipe is which...
Top tip on blowing into the tube. Problem solved! Thanks mate
Thanks for the clear and concise video. The manual is a waste of time.
Hi, thanks for the useful video. On UK ebay I got the following which works for me:
+ 2 Metres of 8 mm internal diameter "PVC Tube Clear Plastic Hose_Pipe - Food Grade - Fish_Pond_Car_Aquariums_Air" £3.08 and a
+ 11-16 mm "JCS STAINLESS Steel HiGrip SS Worm Drive Hose Clips Marine Clamps Silicone Fuel" £1.58
Thanks for making the video. Now I know that the black pipe is the one to connect in the waste pipe.
Legend. Just plumbed mine in today. took me longer to work out what pipe to disconnect, than it did the drill the hole and clip some conduit to the wall 😂
As above: thanks for clearing up the messy instructions which were confusing to say the least.
Thank you very much. It solves my mystery reading the stupid instruction given by the manufacturer. This is the dumbest instruction manual i ever had for any equipment i ever purchased.
Peace from Malaysia.
Thank you! never seen such poor instructions, your video saved me lot of confusion and frustration
Thanks to you I didn’t have to read user manual.
Thank you for this. It is fantastic! How do you actually connect the pipes to the washing machine drain?
what im wondering
What kind of madness are we in where the manufacturers don't provide proper information and instructions about their products. Particularly for a basic and desirable feature like self draining!! I've just been going through this with Bosch, who provide misleading info on their install instructions for a current model which they say is self draining, yet the retailers say it's not. Turns out Bosch have left an old install doc on their website and the new model does not have a self drain facility!! I despair with trying to buy anything these days, not even the manufacturers know what they are selling.
Thank you for the clear instructions. Helped out a lot.
Hi Vince
Couldn’t see your link for the hotpoint drain out kit on you web site. Can only find Bosch and Siemens on Amazon and eBay. Are they the same do you know?
Cheers
Very informative Vince.
+Cumbriahandyman Thanks.
@@Mymatevince is this still working for you
I had the same issue with the bad instruction manuals not stating which pipe
Thanks Vince.
Thanks for the video. The instruction manual s still shocking 4 years later!
Thank you for the video!
Much better than the bleeding instruction book lol

Fantastic useful video .. highly appreciated ❤
That was very helpful dude. Thanks.
Hi Vince, thank you but you didn’t show how to actually connect the dryer waist into the same drain of the washing machine….. can you please show, what splitter you using etc . Thx
thank u that ws very helpful
Helped me out alot this. Thanks
Scandalous how much they charge for a piece of tubing. I just stacked mine and used the existing one
thank you
Great video, am I right in thinking the container will still fill with water, but it will have to overflow before it goes into the waste? I've plumbed my new condenser into the waste and the container is still filling up, not sure if I have cocked up somewhere, cheers
Hi, could you please give the size of the drain hose (ID) and amazon link, etc. Many thanks.
TNX!
Thank you!!
Thanks
I'd say the clear pipe is there to deal with any water that sloshes out of the tank when it's removed and returns it to the condenser output.
+Graham Langley Hi Graham, yes I think you are exactly right, (I didn't think of that)!!!!!!! I have now got a 2m clear silicone hose from ebay which has a 8mm internal diameter and 14mm outside diameter and it is working perfectly so I don't have to empty it anymore. Thanks Vince
+My Mate VINCE The one here is a Zanussi with the tank at the bottom, so although it has a drain connection it's at floor level which can only be used if it's stacked on a washer. But I can't complain - it came from a neighbour along ten years or so back along with its matching washer for £50 the pair and should last another ten with biennial strip-downs to remove the fluff from around the front drum bearings.
+Graham Langley Can't go wrong at that price! I think this one can pump upwards 1m so although the pipe connector for the drain connector is also at the bottom 1m is just enough to get it in the washing machine drain pipe even if it is on the floor. My one is stacked on the washer so gravity is helping me.
thanx
How do you drain the bottom of the thing? I have nowhere to attatch the hose, but inside where the condenser sits
You know these dryers are recalled?
Hi, no, I didn't. no one contacted me!!!!!!!
Call them to sort it and dont use it while you are not home or over night!
Cheers for the info, I will check it out.
No problem :)
mine is identical to Vince's and is the repacement from indesit/hotpoint for my recalled one.
Awesome , the written instructions were none existent
how do you do the same for a hoover visiotech infinity VTC591NB? I have great difficulty getting down to empty mine, as I am in a wheelchair.
Where is the link to the tube kit please?
If you blow into it will it be air?
works for a gas dryer?
Hi, can any condenser drier that has the set up you see here be connected to a drain? I've seen some models with this same set up and wondered if they can be adapted too. Thanks.
+Craig White Hi, I am not sure. I would think a lot of them could be maybe the pump wouldn't be strong enough to pump the water a greater height/distance. This one actually stating in the instructions that it could be connected.Thanks.
Mine would be going down to meet my washing machine drain, so pump strength hopefully shouldn't be an issue. However, I found a dryer that the manufacturer confirms can be connected to an outlet and even comes with the kit so I'm hoping for a relatively stress free installation! Great video though, thanks for the reply.
What hose did you end up buying? I've looked online and the only thing I can find is the factory replacement. Is this replacement longer than the one on the dryer?
Do I need to connect it somehow to the water container, I got a new one and after the first use all water was on the floor and no water was in the water container? Anyone can help with info?
How to fit 2 hoses in one drain pipe?
If you don't know how to make it by yourself , just go to inplix website.
did not tell you how to plumb in to a drain.
i dont see a nintendo switch in this video
that's because this video's not about a Nintendo Switch.
its not rocket science anyone who can read instructions will understand, I have my condenser dryer already plumbed in to my washing machine drain, your video was about as useful as a hole in the head
Delighted we have a brainbox who knows everything - yet you had to look at the Video. One wonders why
yo VINCE, i just bought BOSCH dryer and did read manual and found plenty other on internet, but damn water wont go out into drain...it still stays in that box i need to empty every day...i do not know what am i doing wrong since this is quite simple but looks like i am dumb :D
I just got new tumble dryer Bosch series 6 and I am having exactly the same issue. Draining hose is connected into the wall (together with washing machine) but somehow water remains in the tank. How did you fix the issue?

@@zeljkotodor Hi, just got a series 6 too. And followed the instructions, and the water stays in the container, even though I think some of it does drain out of the drain kit. Did you ever manage to resolve the issue?
thank u that ws very helpful
