There would also be other "old fashioned things" like automobiles, steamboats, record players, large factories/industry workers, and other things like that. It's happy, feel-good, and celebratory, but at the same time eerie, unsettling and disturbing. It really captures the feeling of OFF.
It's ironic that the most popular track in an ominous game with an otherwise ambient and sometimes forboding ost to match, is actually very upbeat and jazzy

One of my favorite battle themes from RPG's ever, it's catchy great, and even holds up today. The more I think about it the more the religious theme of the crusades is a main part of the story. The way The Batter feels no remorse for what he's doing the way he talks and the overall tone of the game. Purifying specters in his wake not knowing that if you go back to a "pure" are it's now a wasteland of what it was. Just the entire theme of pure really sets it in stone for me. I dunno just my thoughts.
