The older couple in the elevator with the horse are actually the horses owners. They rode with him to help keep the horse calm.
The tail slap is a favorite moment. Thx for some detail. :)
I think you two should watch "Ladyhawke" ... It's an 80s fantasy/action/romance with Matthew Broderick, Michele Pfeifer and Rutger Hauer, and it was directed by Richard Donner (Lethal Weapon, The Goonies). One of my all-time favorite movies and I bet you would both enjoy it :)
YES!
Never forget that Richard also directed Superman (1978). Just saying!
@@RobynHoodeofSherwoodother movies are “done to death”, because those are literally the reactions people want to see.
@@XavierXSims His best movies are Lethal Weapon 1-4.
One of my FAVE fantasies!
38:17 Little fun fact: James Cameron and the crew allowed Jamie Lee Curtis to perform the stunt herself as a personal birthday present she had been requesting.
One of THE best stunts in any movie.
Whoooa, that's so badass!!
Tom Arnold "Gibb" was in the middle of a divorce from sitcom star Roseanne & the petty story about stealing the ice cube tray from the freezer was apparently based on what she did to Arnold irl 🤯🤣
Sometimes actor's find 'that' role which they own. Tom owned this part. Arnold is a great 'body' to orbit.
Ha! Omg that's just cruel
"Hey , cus it's you" Bill Paxton was fantastic.
That bridge miniature shot is one of the best in movie history IMO, it absolutely sells the details and the natural lighting. There's a good little clip about the behind the scenes on youtube, Cameron especially demanded that the car land back on the bridge and it was a tough nut to get it to do that. This movie rules in so many ways.
And part of the bridge scene was real. They were able to take advantage of the fact the old bridge had a gap where they removed a swing span.
@@nielsdegroot9138 That bridge was scheduled for demolition because they had already built the replacement bridge, which you can see running parallel to it, so they were allowed to blow the heck out of it.
@@Timmayytoo they won't let anyone blow a bridge next to one that will be used by the public. It was a miniature, but a fairly large one (300 ft long, 5 ft wide).
@@TimmayytooNot so. The old bridge is now on the registry of historic sites and it is still standing. I used to live in Miami, actually grew up there, and spent a great deal of time traveling down to the Keys to go fishing back in the 60s. The old 7 mile bridge still stands.😊
I've watched this many times and learned to just accept things in film. I was pleased to hear a great explanation for how they found them at the suite. Well played!
The "I married Rambo" line is hilarious because Sly and Arnold were still action movie rivals at this point.
"Battery Aziz!"
😂 😂 😂
Still one of the best moments in a movie.
I always think "Aziz! Light!" from The Fifth Element
I still quote this every so often, all these years later. :P
@@josephhein9497 I also use that! I used to think he says "battery cease" but that also barely makes sense.
unforgettable! 🤣
😂😂❤
My favourite character moment in the movie is when Helen slaps Juno with her ring, and stands there knowing full well she'll almost certainly be immediately killed for it, but she did it anyway because they killed the man she loves. Feel kinda bad for Dana but that only speaks further to the grief and rage she must be feeling in that moment that Jamie Lee Curtis performs so well, understated but impossible to miss
Arnold said in an interview years ago that the scene with Jamie dancing was by far his favorite. Most guys would agree, including myself. 👍
Tom Arnold is the perfect guy to play his role - sarcastic AF, and quick witted. He’s hilarious in this movie!
"I remember the first time I got shot out of a cannon" always makes me laugh.
11:18 "Is he gonna take a horse in an elevator?!" Yes, True Lies is exactly that wonderfully absurd
Hahaha I had no idea what we were getting ourselves into with this movie... but man did it deliver
The Bill Paxton subplot is the best part.
"Your fired" such a classic Arnie line 😅
Great Reaction!
Honestly, I fail to find any other movie that contains a similar amount of absolutely crazy expensive awesome real Action Set Pieces and everything still looks awesome today and feels as fresh as back then. The Bridge Explosion is just nuts. Bill Paxton's is pure genius. As is Tom Arnold. And Arnie probably delivered the best Acting Performance of his career. What a blast! If you wanna nitpick, i think the interrogation scene of Helen is maybe a tad too long.
Maybe you can give Black Rain a try. Ridley Scott, Michael Douglas & Andy Garcia go to Japan, Hans Zimmer delivered an awesome Soundtrack. Plenty of cool Yakuza Stuff. Brilliant Cinematography that gives Tokyo (even though it was filmed in Osaka) a real Blade Runner Feel...I'll never understand why this movie never gets picked up.
"Oh yeah I love when guys are on fire!" Chandra knows how to have a good time :)
The Last Action Hero is fun too! Loved your reaction by the way!👍👍
I was in high school when this came out. One boy's parents had arranged for him to see it with his friends on his birthday, I was one of those friends.
Fun tidbit, since you mentioned his tuxedo at the beginning. On the TV show "Mythbusters," they did a spy movie episode, and they did confirm that you can wear a full tuxedo under a scuba-suit, scuba from a boat to a location, take the scuba suit off, and the tux still looks party-ready!
The stunt that Jamie Lee Curtis and Arnold Schwarzenegger did with the helicopter their wrists were wired together that was actually her really dangling from the helicopter for real
Sort of. The initial stunt as she's exiting the limo sunroof is not Jamie. I'm guessing you know this but it didn't come out that way.
Great movie,30yrs have gone by sooo quick.
Even though Helen gets a rough ride mid-movie;but gets a great character arc.Jim Cameron loves his strong women and he does so once again here.👍Such good chemistry between the leads and such a huge damn shame that we never got a sequel!😭It set it all up so well for that and Jamie Lee Curtis,Arnie,Tom Arnold, etc, the team, crushed it;worked so well together.
Great action,stunts,ideas,very funny&snarky and of course,the late,great Bill Paxton doing his thing.👏😁👌
Top reaction folks.😊
Please do 'Knowing' next, with Nicholas Cage.A top disaster movie, but more adult, sinister and scary.😨Plus I don't think ANY reaction channels have reviewed it.
Great choice today.😊
What is annoying to me is that I honestly believe that Cameron could make movies like this in his sleep. It's gutting there are not three or four more movies in his wheelhouse that are just like this one.
Eliza Dushku who played the daughter Dana grew up to play Faith, the anti-slayer in Buffy, one of the 90s top geek icons.
Oooo we've never seen Buffy, but have always wanted to!
@@maplenutsreact One of the best TV shows ever! Creator & Producer Joss Whedon turned out to be a jacka55, but he created a masterpiece. There's so much nuance, double meaning, & metaphors in the show when watched with a keen eye. There are multiple episodes that are truly iconic & groundbreaking.
Love her energy & his attention to detail....great react & review.
You almost can’t go wrong with anything from Tony Scott’s filmography, particularly when he teams up with Denzel Washington. My favorite of these exciting collaborations is “Deja Vu.” I’m surprised this isn’t more highly regarded. Terrific sci-fi, action, detective, thriller with a hint of a love story. A fantastical story that is perfect for Tony Scott’s über-kinetic style of filmmaking. In a different direction is anything from Brian De Palma, my favorite director. My favorite is “Body Double.” Would love to see you two react to that one. Such a good movie. Although you’ll appreciate it much more if you’re familiar with both “Rear Window” and “Vertigo.” Excellent twist on some of the familiar elements from those two classics.
If you like Arnold in "True Lies", you'll love him in "Kindergarten Cop".
"Thet iz eh Furret."
They will LOVE Kindergarten Cop.
It's not a tumah! I like Kindergarten Cop, but it moves quite a bit slower, IMHO. My next pick would be Eraser. Lots of action & suspense with just enough humor to break the tension. So underrated!
So glad y’all did this one, such fun & yep it had everything. Tongue in cheek but the storyline was great & Jamie Lee nailed the arc of Helen, almost two different characters. For another great Arnie film, I must suggest “Eraser”…often overlooked but I think the story is better.
I'd say give "Legend" a watching, from 1985. It is one of Tom Cruise's first movies and also stars Mia Sara (Ferris Bueller's Day Off) and the great Tim Curry. It is a fun fantasy adventure film.
Lmao I just recommended this literally 3 minutes before I saw your comment
Harry late for his birthday party: "That's bad. I feel bad for his family." 😂😂😂 Oh, just wait! Awesome reaction. I always get excited to see your videos pop up.
Definitely think about watching Stranger Than Fiction (2006) and Master And Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003 and in my opinion a masterpiece).
Loved your reaction to this great film. Got two action movie suggestions (you should watch both !). First is a 1993 John McTiernan ("Die Hard" director) movie called "The Last Action Hero", starring Arnold and there are Dobermans too, for Chandra !. The second is a John Carpenter classic from 1981, starring an ultra cool character played by Kurt Russell, in the futuristic action thriller, "Escape From New York" and it's great fun. 😊
Great reaction. One of the all-time most fun 90s movies. Like Jordan said, it's got everything.
With humor and action done so perfectly, this is Arnold's symphony of destruction at its peak . "Who has taken the KEY?" 😂
What happened to his Victorian mustache? 😳🥸🧔🏻...
When Schwarzenegger shouts "Give me the God damn page" he hit the wrong prop glass window & smacked the real window! 😂😂
No way!! Hahaha poor Arnie
Lies
@@or2ak Are you doing an Arnold impression or disputing the prop glass story? If it's the latter Google is your friend for the truth 👍
Cameron was on fire. Terminator 84, Aliens 86, Abyss 89, T2 91, True Lies 94, Titanic 97. Then...
And now Avatar & Avatar & Avatar & Avatar 🤮
All of his movie titles start with A or T.
@@XanArt21 Same could be said for Titanic.
The two of you reacting to this gives me such joy. Your enthusiasm is infectious. 😊
Boris and Natasha were a popular duo before your time. She actually did the helicopter stunt. Also, the nod to Rambo as Arnie and Sly had been rivals and were coming around to a more cordial rapport. I was at an airshow a few years after this movie and a Harrier did a demo flight. There was this one guy just going nuts over it. His friend said, "Yeah man, they can really do that stuff. Didn't you see True Lies?" He replied that he thought it was all movie special effects. He really had no idea.
...Terminator meets James Bond, with a good shot of comedy + excellent production - its an outstanding action movie, and so funny too... PS. the actor of the 'bad guy', Art Malik, was indeed also in a James Bond movie - 'The Living Daylights', where he is playing an African freedom fighter, and is actually on the side of the 'goodies'...
...worthwhile too - I recommend you put that one on your to-watch list as well! 😎
It's great to see the British designed Harrier take front place here.
These are US-built variants they called "Advanced Harriers" - The McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) AV-8B plane used mainly by the US Marines
Planes, like classic muscle cars are eventually technologically replaced in service, but never our hearts.
Hope you two are having an great and awesome day ❤
As a Mission Crew Commander Air Battle Manager on AWACS who controlled Harriers, a vertical takeoff and landing uses 1/3 of its fuel. Hanging around in a constant hover would make it a very short flight.
If you’ve not seen Demolition Man, you really must. I think because they were around the same time and both do awesome I can’t help but think of one when I think of the other. Also start Sandra Bullock in her most adorable role ever.
jamie lee and tia carrere in top form! honestly, this movie is one of the best remakes ever made!
If you guys enjoyed this one, you should do Demolition Man from the same time period with Wesley Snipes, Sylvester Stallone, Sandra Bullock and Benjamin Bratt. If you haven’t seen it. Another one is the Miss Congeniality movies with Sandra Bullock, and The Net.
I love this film as a child growing up, Tom Arnold's character is my favorite and I would love to have seen a spin-off of his character.
Also I'm sure others have mentioned it but the bridge that destroyed was practical. It was the old US-1 bridge in the Florida keys. Sections of it are still there but you can still drive by the new bridge next to it and see where they film this
Love the first two acts of this film. Bill Paxton is easily the best part of this movie. RIP.
Brilliant movie - so funny, while still being edge-of-the-seat tense and anixiety-inducing!!! 😆
The bridge scene was done on the overseas highway in the Keys. They used the old sections that had been replaced with new bridges. I enjoyed watching them film this when I was there.
Santa
Great reaction kids. , and just as an aside, RIP Bill Paxon! ❤
Oooo I commented about True Lies on your T2 reaction from a couple months ago! Excited to see y'all enjoy this. I bet it was suggested many times. The helicopter bridge stunt with Jamie Lee Curtis was real and they were all wired up for it. I believe in an interview that she said she wanted to actually do it for the movie.
Great reaction. Classic action film. Had fun watching this 😊
I love this movie.
Great Reaction..... Some of these might have already been mentioned).....
"Omega Sector" is a nod/throw-back to a movie Charlton Heston (Guy with eye-patch) starred in "Omega Man"....
"She took the ice cube trays, What kind of b!tch does that?" actually happened to Tom Arnold when Rosanne Barr left him.......
Bill Paxton is Great in his role.... RIP Bill.....
So Many Great Performances, with a little Comedy mixed.in....
The scene with the missing page, Arnold broke the wrong window, He broke a real one instead of the fake window.....
Jamie falling during the dance scene, was not in the orginal script, Jamie came up with the idea when rehearsing so that is why Arnold almost breaks character when she falls.....
Jamie actually did the Limo Stunt....
Loren Janes is “old man on the elevator” in the horse/motorcycle chase scene, and he and his wife (the woman with him on the elevator) were involved with the horse training having run a ranch for Hollywood horses. Loren had previously been a top stuntman in Hollywood serving as Steve McQueen’s stunt double for most of McQueen’s career. Loren also executed one of the craziest and most dangerous stunts ever to appear in a film. At the end of ”What’s up, Doc?” Loren is standing up in a convertible as it is being driven under a long, long tent-like awning before launching off a pier into the harbor. The stunt was designed so that his head would be visible above the canopy as the car raced under, and a metal collar around Loren’s neck was to protect his throat as he tore through the breakaway seam in the fabric. Unfortunately the draft created by the speeding car during the actual take caused the canopy to billow up, and instead of hitting him in the neck, the heavy canopy hit him directly between the eyes, knocking him unconscious. Fortunately his limp, unconscious body was thrown from the car as planned as the car sailed off the pier (at 70mph!!!), and a rescue crew was able to reach him moments after he hit the water. “What’s Up, Doc?” was the first film to ever list stunt performers’ names in the end credits, and Janes certainly deserved the recognition. That was 1972. I heard Loren give his first-hand account of this experience when he came to visit my college in the early 90s.
Totaly enjoy you guys reacting to some great movies. Chandra gets so animated with the action and explosions it's great to see. Reminds me of the first time I saw these movies and reacted similar. It is the reason for movies pure entertainment!😊😊😊
The daughter, Dana, is played by Eliza Dushku. She went on to be in "The New Guy", "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" and some cheerleader movie I never saw.
Great reaction guys to another classic arnie movie. The last collaboration between arnie and james cameron. Big thumbs up from ian. No arnie butt shots for Chandra thought in this one.
In light of his passing yesterday, I'll recommend Gardens of Stone. It's about soldiers of Third Infantry "the Old Guard" Arlington National Cemetery during the Vietnam War. James Earl Jones had a supporting role as a Sergeant Major. Not as well known but it's one of my favorite's of Jones'

This doesn’t even scratch the surface.
Excellent list.
Kinda in Beast mode dad mode for both you guys ❤
This is just the perfect action movie!
While Arnold has a lot of good movies, and T2 will always be my favorite, True Lies is just perfect in every way.
So many interesting and unique action sets from the start, the plot is constantly moving and you get totally immersed, the comedic bits hit super well (like that low battery joke!!!) and the absolutely unexpected side plot is so good that you completely forget about the main plot for a chunk of the movie until it merges with the main plot and even delivers more natural comedy!!
And every actor fits and acts perfectly/authentically!
No action movie deserves it to be so well written and directed, but here we are!
And now that I have arrived at the end of the video, I realize that I didn't have to write all of this, because you said the exact same thing! hahaha Well played!
I've heard that the bridge they used is still in use in Miami as a pedestrian bridge now lol
The bridge explosion was a miniature, but it was apparently quite a large one, approximately the length of a football field.
I smiled all the way through this. Fantastic reaction 😊
25:00 - Fun fact - Jamie Lee Curtis falling while dancing was unscripted. She stayed in character by quickly getting up and kept dancing that Cameron left the take in the final cut. (You see Schwarzenegger quickly sits up in the chair as she falls as he didn't expect it).
The bridge was a model. A very good model.
Arnold: *does something
Maplenuts: 🤯That's a great move!
😂🍻
Hahaha it's so true! He could just stand there for an hour and we'd think it was an amazing art film or something lol
James Cameron - "The Abyss" Also, James Cameron is the only actor who has been down to the lowest part of the Pacific Ocean in a specialized diving bell - at that depth, the diving bell can only be used once and it can never be used again. When the crackpots who designed the mini-sub to take guests to see the Titanic killed a crew, it was because they had used poor engineering and the sub was used too many times. The Titanic is nowhere near as deep as the deepest Pacific spot, but it is still deeper than even most military subs can go. When James Cameron planned to video the Titanic with an unmanned diving sub for the beginning of the movie "Titanic" several problems occurred leading to scrapping that idea and generating the look with computers.
Another good film and really funny that had Bill Paxton in it is Weird Science.
Definitely worth a watch.
Great reaction as always! This is such a fun movie.
14:34 "Oh my God, is Arnie going to kill Bill Paxton"
No....... not this time.
Edit: I almost forgot to mention the Carlos that Bill Paxton's character was accused of being was Carlos the Jackal, a very real historical Assassin. There have actually been 2 movies about him, "The Jackal" and "Day of the Jackal"
The plot of “The Bourne Identity” novel (but not the movie) also revolved around Jason Bourne attempting to hunt down Carlos the Jackal.
Fun film :-) Very plastic ice at the start there though. Arnie is always fun, but Curtis steals the show.
Oh yes!!! I remember recommending this movie on one of your first videos.
I wrote this comment before I watched your reaction, but I hope you’ll like it. It is VERY 90s
I think that you would like "Out Of Sight,"a 1998 film with George Clooney, Jennifer Lopez, Ving Rhames, Michael Keaton, Don Cheadle, Albert Brooks, and Samuel L. Jackson, among others. It has humor, action, suspense, and romance. And I would like to see your reaction.
35:50 now if you're watching watching and paying attention to the movie which I doubt you are apparently when he came out of the water he saw his wife being loaded into the limo
Another one that is very similar to this is Mr. & Mrs. Smith with Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie, if you haven’t seen that one, I’d highly recommend that one!!
My favorite Arnold movie! James Cameron did a great job putting this fun movie together.
Didn't know it at the time, but this was my first introduction to Eliza Dusku (daughter) who'd go on to play one of my favourite characters of the Buffyverse.
Fun fact. They had an exotic dancer coach Jaime on the the hotel scene. And yes, Ladyhawk is an outstanding movie!!!!!
In my opinion, I think you would like Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Eraser, The Saint (1997), Conspiracy Theory.
One of my favorite movies, I was a real spy once, that's all u get.
The best 80s action/comedy/drama movies are the Lethal Weapon series. Each sequel is better than the last. Tons of practical explosions, guys jumping out of buildings, guys on fire, cars flipping. Lots of fun and heart in those movies.
Add Eraser to the list! Another great, underrated Arnie movie with lots of action & suspense & just enough humor to break the tension. Costars Vanessa Williams. It's so good, & for some reason I haven't really seen anyone react to it. True Lies is one of my top 3 favorite films of all time, & Eraser is in the top 10!
1995 Apollo 13 has a fantastic cast including Bill Paxton. This is an amazing true story you will love. 🚀
Watch 'A Fish Called Wanda' and 'Fierce Creatures'. You'll love 'em.
Such an amazing movie. Very nostalgic. I've always wanted to watch the original French film that True Lies is based on. I think it's called Jeopardy? I would love to see how similar and different they are.
Great reaction yall. Im gonna say yall should watch "Misery" with the legendary Kathy Bates. And "Silence Of The Lambs" with the legendary Anthony Hopkins.
I suggest more Crime/Action films, there are tons of possibilities in that genre. Also it would be nice if you two continued the Predator films with Predator 2, AVP (Alien Versus Predator), and Predators.
Yet another fun fact - the horse is the same one Indy was riding in the Last Crusade.
Hey, great reaction! I had a movie suggestion if neither of you has already seen it. The movie is 2002's *Signs* by M. Night Shyamalan. It has a rather unique twist I think you will both like.
Chandra and Jordan, I know you'll never see this, and there certainly won't be people piling up behind this comment, but I'd love for you to watch a Canadian film called Men With Brooms. It has Leslie Nielson in it. It's peak northern Ontario vibes. Hilarious film about curling. Well written, well acted. A ton(ne) of fun. You'd really enjoy it . . . aaaaaand, as a bonus, no one else is reacting to it.
"Those are dentist tools".
Oh boy do you need to watch Marathon Man with Dustin Hoffman. You'll be scared to visit the dentist for years afterwards.
She didn't get to see Arnold but he got to see Jamie looking fantastic!
"I married Rambo" I love that line
A good movie a lot of people probably don't know about is Wonder Boys (year 2000) I'll just say it stars Michael Douglas. but many other big names.
45:40 "That's my favorite, when dudes are on fire running across the screen, that's just like the funniest thing in the world to me."
The devil: She's the one. I've found my protege.
Since you enjoyed Aliens so much, you can revisit half the cast (yes, including Bill Paxton) in the excellent horror movie Near Dark!
If you're planning on some horror movies for October I'll recommend Barbarian for a recent one and Session 9 for an underrated one.
Love the channel!
This is such a good movie, and I know quite a few people who won’t watch it because they say it’s just a “typical” Arnold Schwarzenegger film. I keep telling them that they’re missing out by ignoring it, but no matter what I tell them, they just won’t budge.
As if a "typical Arnold Schwarzenegger " movie is a bad thing. It's also a false assumption though. His filmography is actually pretty diverse. Only ones that are similar are sequels...or Commando and the 1st 30 mins of Predator (which was the point)
Some people are just stubborn like that. Their loss!
The limo driver is actually a cellist that played in this movie's soundtrack as well as other very well known movies.
A fun 80s movie that has some fun "espionage" action is GOTCHA! You two should check this one out. I think you'll enjoy it.
