GBO2 Efreet Custom: "EXAM System, Standby!"

- This video contains two matches I had with the LV4 Efreet Custom on Gundam Battle Operation 2. The Efreet Custom is a 350-500 cost raid with a touchpad special ability that drastically raises mobility and damage for 60 seconds, access to LV2 Power Accelerator, amazing melee damage alongside an incredible downswing animation. It suffers from mediocre stagger accumulation, poor mobility outside of EXAM, only 50 thrust alongside it having absolutely dreadful midrange shooting game. I remember playing this suit when it got buffed years ago, it was really fun then and it still is now, but it definitely feels like it has lost its edge over those years. I hope that you enjoy watching!
Its primary ranged weapon is an arm grenade launcher with 931 power, 5 seconds cooldown, 2 ammo, 10 seconds reload, 1.8 seconds swap time, 290m range and 40% stagger value. This has short cooldown and instant staggers, but it otherwise has poor performance. You are going to be using this purely to combo into your melee.
Its primary melee weapon is a pair of heat swords with 2700 power, 2.5 seconds cooldown, 0.5 seconds swap time and 50%x2 side swing modifier. This doesn't have any special downswing or combo modifier, but it has very high base power, making it still capable of dealing incredible damage. On top of this, it has fast swap time alongside a downswing that has really good reach. It is easy to hit enemies with the downswing if you can outmaneuver them with EXAM, no stun required.
Its first sub weapon is a leg missile pod with 332 power, 12 ammo, 178 RPM, 5 seconds reload, 1.5 seconds swap time, 300m range, 985 DPS and 25% stagger value. This can fire while boosting and only needs 4 hits to stun, but it is incredibly awkward to use because of the low rate of fire and poor velocity.
The LV4 Efreet Custom has 18500 HP, 19 ballistic/beam resist and 26 melee resist. This is fairly good durability for a 500 cost raid, though generals still have the melee damage to kill you in one combo if you make a mistake. It lacks Emergency Evasion but gets LV2 Maneuver Armor.
It also has 130 (133 including ground affinity) walk speed, 210 boost speed, 50 thrust and 54 (60 including affinity) turning speed. It has good boosting speed, but its low thrust and poor turning speed makes it unwieldy when EXAM isn't activated. It strafes at 100% speed left and right, but be aware that it walks backwards at only 50% speed. It has LV1 Forced Injector, which consumes a lot of thrust when boosting again after stopping.
Its most important skill is the LV1 EXAM System. This is activated via the touchpad and grants +25 ranged modifier, +30 melee modifier, +3 to all resists, +10 walk speed, +10 boost speed, -50% thrust consumption, +40 turning speed and LV2 Emergency Evasion for 60 seconds. Once the timer runs out the head and legs of the MS will break, and EXAM cannot be reactivated until the next time the MS spawns. This skill is the key to using the Efreet Custom effectively, as it makes you ridiculously fast and gives you great damage output. Activating it at the right time is difficult since EXAM only lasts for 60 seconds, but you can go on an absolute rampage with good timing.
Furthermore, it has LV2 Power Accelerator which allows it to near instantly boost away after getting into a melee clash.
In conclusion, I feel that while the Efreet Custom is still capable of going on an absolute rampage, I don't think it is a good suit. It can't really do anything if the enemy team is playing defensively and playing from mid-range, and compared to Striker Custom, it lacks the same crazy melee combo ability. It only having 60 seconds in EXAM is also a big weakness. I understand this might be a little unfair considering that it starts at 350 cost, but I don't think that it is very good there either. I would pick something reliable like a Z'Gok over it 9 times out of 10. I think that they could give it a bit of a tune up to allow it to keep up with modern GBO2, such as LV1 Offence System, 55 thrust, better leg missile RoF, better leg missile velocity alongside LV2 Forced Injector for higher level versions of the suit. Thanks for watching!

Great gameplay on display here!
As someone who's mastered all of the berserker MS, I agree with the sentiment that most of them need buffs, but I have one suggestion many consider to be divisive.
Lore wise, the only EXAM, HADES, or Demon Blade unit that could be physically damaged by its own system was the Blue Destiny Unit 0 because the GM Ground Type frame was too weak, hence why they switched to the Gundam Ground Type frame. On the later MS that used it, the only drawback was how uncontrollable it was and the timer, depending on whether or not the limiter was off.
With that being said, I think the major drawback of legs breaking, while fine back then, has made them age poorly, especially in fast paced matches. It's a major weakness in Clan Matches with the Simple Battle gamemode because you either must be eliminated and reset yourself or your team must defend you while you barely repair your legs enough to last an engagement.
Things get even worse at higher cost, with the Todesritter having the worst case. While its buff was serviceable, it doesn't help that at a cost where MS are more valuable and everything is significantly more fast paced, you must kneel down to repair and hope the enemy doesn't catch you or break your legs again.
Below will be a list of changes I'd recommend for the rework:
EXAM, HADES, DEMON BLADE: Will no longer break legs, but head part effects remain the same. Instead of leg parts breaking, the MS will be stricken with a heavy stagger animation and enter thruster overheat.(At most, maybe letting it lose 50% leg HP at the end of the timer is acceptable.)
(The changes below aren't necessary, but are fun concepts I thought of to modernize them and make them lore accurate.)
BD2: It has no limiter, so extending the timer with a tiny stat boost could be an acceptable buff, but I'll leave that up to ya'll.
BD3: EXAM is the same as it is, but If it has dealt enough damage, it can enter the Green EXAM state. The Green state grants a timer extension and the same stat boost BD2 has.
Striker Custom & Full Armor Striker Custom: If enough damage is dealt, it can activate the KATANA System. This allows the user to imbue any weapon of their choosing with the properties of a heavy attack, generating a dust effect around the weapon. Once the attack is swung and the animation is finished, the system will end whether it hits the target or not and the MS will not be heavy staggered, but all other status effects remain the same.
I hope the changes I suggested are appealing and fun!
Exam System, Final Phase Expression!
Ah when the music kicks in from this theme
I religiously use the unit 1 in 350 cost. It’s where it can shine the most. I’ll try and use units 2 and 3 sparingly with good teammate compatibility but only unit 3 can really get away with a def/enduro build. Otherwise it’s just a lot of patience and taking opportunity of every moment
Please test the buffed Jesta Cannon next :( :( :(
Working on it
Are you gonna do a video on the Gelgoog? After the unit rebalance, I feel like it's worth looking at now that it has its jamming grenades of doom
It's cool!
damn, I've only ever used this suit once. that's gonna change.
Any thoughts on the delta kai buffs?
Being able to charge the High Mega Cannon while moving is a game changer. They need to let ZZ Gundam do it as well since MP ZZ Gundam can.
It will probably be very powerful. I don't think people fully understand it yet, but rest assured that it has MASSIVE potential with the buffs from NITRO mode. You could stagger somebody 4 times in a row with just a basic MS mode combo, with the possibility of launching your funnels before starting the stagger lock combo. It is still squishy but that's a fair price to pay.
Yea….this suit suffers heavily from a very bad kit and timer. They need to overhaul this Efreet like now if it wants to compete. When the Destiny Situation battle was up I felt bad for anyone using it.
Hello!
yeah i love this suit but i kinda stopped using it at 350 once the slyfrails came out since that suit just instantly breaks your legs before and after exam after making ONE mistake. i mean the slyfrail does that to any raid but u have dogwater ranged ability so you cant really do much but risk it anyways
zzz. just use quick matches... lame
