Economy shorthaul on LH is really shockingly disappointing. Business is all the better, though. Small meal and drink service (warm and cold) even on a 25 minute flight. Was very impressed.
My co-worker had a check in issue too. He had to check in at the airport. Thankfully, I bought my ticket through United and didn't seem to have any issues.
Nice review Markus! We are of Lufthansa for the first time this August on a short hop from Frankfurt to LHR in business, will be interesting to see how they do these short hops in business class. It's supposed to be on an A320neo
I hope it goes well, but also would recommend lowering your expectations. "Business class" on these flights is just an economy seat with a meal included.
I got super boring macaroni with out any sauce and potatoes salad for my 8 hours trip back from the US with Germanwings 😂😂😂 I was totally shocked because on the way there I got nicer meal from American Airlines and never believed that German could serve such a boring meal to their customers for such a long flight!
Hate to burst your bubble Markus but Star Alliance isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be. I was a Star Gold with United and outside of United my status meant very little in terms of recognition. Now I’m a OneWorld Emerald with Qantas and SkyTeam Elite Plus and I can tell the difference straight away. From the first class lounges on departure and arrival flying American Airlines domestically to the ability to select most seats on FinnAir or American free it really makes a difference. Sometimes it is healthy to reconsider your loyalty. United told me I had to spend serious $$ with them to maintain status and decided to switch over to SkyTeam and OneWorld to get treated better for less!
they are the absolute worst. literally had to sue them to get money we were entitled to. their lawyer played games until the very end, stalling the entire process, but we won. they are asking for a class action lawsuit at this point. disgusting.
7:18 great video and completely second your opinion on the quality issues with Lufthansa group. It is ridicilous how bad their service but also reputation got. MInor thing: K is not another terminal at Munich, it is just satellite gates of Terminal 2.
Every airlines in western europes service is getting worse! Many years back we used to get free meal and drink , inkl tea and coffee. Nowdays only Turkish Airlines is the only airline in Europe that keeps that amazing service on economy.
around 1:35 REALLY? Is that how low-cost carriers behave? Because last April 19, 2023 I was on a Singapore Airlines flight LHR-SIN (an Airbus a380) and it did EXACTLY THE SAME thing on online check-in. I instead just checked-in the traditional way of queueing at the airport. I got 68A seat anyway which is a window seat. However for a 13-hour flight (12h58m to be exact) SIA only provided two meals and no snacks. You asked them for snacks in-between and they would politely say "no". I thought this was the "norm because of the pandemic" excuse but I keep watching reviews from e.g. Nonstop Dan, or yours, or Jayden Wong, and this seems like the major airlines are now taking notes from the budget airlines. So, yes, it's not just Lufthansa, if Singapore Airlines is doing quite the same thing then I guess we economy travellers are screwed.
Forget everything Lufthansa was best in past and still best and will be best of best in future i flow with them long flight i have the experience to say the things i like about them unfortunately there language is major problem for new people

Yes, the soft product on LH intra-European Business is a lot better than many US First products.
Sad that LH has turned into a more expensive LCC. Not much sets apart LH from Eurowings on short haul besides star alliance membership.
Yes that's right unfortunately.

I certainly expected more from a "premium" airline.

I always remember American Airlines food positively, but it's been years since I flew them.
@@MarkusTravels I totally in love with their service and food! The staff was way too friendly and helpful!!

That's great that you are happy with the other alliances! For me, Star Alliance has been pretty good so far.
I was astonished at the poor service and treatment by Lufthansa staff. Never any time Lufthansa.
The service has indeed declined.

Well done defending your rights!

Good point!
damn i travelling with them from AMS to FRA in october but not choice their price are less expensive than KLM on that route
I hope you will have a good trip!
So is this channel just documenting the ongoing catabolic collapse from the perspecitve of the airline industry?
Yes, I'm a documentary filmmaker now! 8-)
I bagged a flight with them from Dublin to Johannesburg for £558. Not bad, but the service will be absolutely terrible.
They will get you there, but nothing more.

Yes, it's definitely a benefit of flying TK!

Yes you're right, it's becoming the norm these days.
What’s the best European domestic airline
Most European countries are too small for domestic flights to make sense. Luckily there's almost always a great train connection!
Best international European airline? I have limited options here in Texas haha.
I haven't flown them all. But the one I fly most often on international long-haul is Swiss. The product is solid and their throne seats are fantastic.
unfortunately true 😢
Thanks for watching!

In my experience, LH is far from the best.
