My BM and I both suffered from substance abuse. To the point where our kids almost got taken. I got clean and she didn't. And I received full custody of our 3 girls. Happily to report 6yrs later, I am still clean and now their mother is going on 3yrs clean also, and had continued to show improvement and involvement in our kids life's. Recovery is possible. It just takes support and will power. But I promise you it is possible 💯

But certain songs like this, written by an artist Not a lyricist, not a musician. But an artist. They move you to tears. They pull your raw emotion and even if you never lived it your crying. That is art.
I was 3 when my dad dumped me. 22 years later, openly rejects his two grandkids. I don’t know which is worse. Losing a parent to death, or having one that lives, but rejects you. Maybe it isn’t comparable idk
I lost my dad to addiction and this is everything I could never verbalize. Prayers to everyone that has dealt with or is currently dealing with this 🙏🏽
Been a fan of NF for years and when I first heard this song I boo hoo cried cause my step mom passed because of the same thing. She was like a second mom to me.
This song finds the words for so many people that can not speak the words themselves. So much heartache and pain - from a child's view. Addiction is so prevalent these days - and touches so many peoples lives. I hope this song has been able to make at least one addict see what their child was going through - and they got clean because of it.
