They still used make up.to.make gim look older. I don't get why you are acting like the fans are being weird, they even admitted to using makeup. Not sure what else you want.
@@cosygoose1813 It's not just this show but even other stars who are shown after years people say " I'm shocked how he or she looks" of course, people get old.
They had to. Tbbt made it very clear that his dad died when he was 14. He was my favorite character so I was dreading it. Young Sheldon was a great show & I'll miss it.

@@randomonlineuser6401 Fr when I heard that I was honestly surprised but then realized it makes sense after thinking about it. Crazy how many years ago I started watching this show.
Can we pause and process how big of a win it is that a prequel show was made about his character and he's still the highest paid actor with very little screen time outside of talking? This is one of the biggest wins ever!
Yeah but the finale is an epilogue and we already knew it took place some time after the TBBT finale given Sheldon mentioned his son Leonard, named after Nimoy not Hofstadter.
Years ago i was a nanny for a family and the mom i worked for went to high school with him. She said they weren’t close friends or anything but were friendly acquaintances/school friends and would talk in class occasionally. She said he was always very nice and she would’ve never thought he’d be that famous. I think she said they were in band together but i could be wrong about that part, she told me this nearly a decade ago.
It makes me feel rather young to think I'm the same age Sheldon was at the beginning of the show. Which is quite nice as being 34 I feel very old most of the time these days.
To be fair, he was also made younger in the Big Bang theory, where he is 27 at the staty while in real life he was 34, so in the universe if he is ment to be 60 then that means 21 Yeats passed from the end of big bang theory.

This is such a strange coincidence, earlier today at work I just randomly had the Big Bang theory pop up into my head and then this vid comes at the front of my recommended! Never realized the show was that old.
He was in a movie too. I don't know what the movie was called, but it was based in the late 50's and early 60's. Where there was still the segregation of Blacks and Whites. A few black women were hired on at NASA. Parsons was one of the staff that had a habit of blacking out any information that he thought that the young lady shouldn't know. But she needed that information to do her job correctly. She worked with numbers. Something to do with the Space Shuttle that was supposed to take off and land on the moon. It looks like a good movie but I wish I knew the name of it, so that I can find it and go make some popcorn and have a movie night. Just me and my two cats and my dog. LOL!
His age is important because he was his dads age and it made him realize his dad was just a person who tried his best and that he was a jerk so don’t complain it is story telling
Of course, they aged him up some in the finale of young Sheldon his son Leonard was old enough to be playing hockey he and Amy had no kids at the end of TBBT. Which wasn’t that long ago irl.
Actually, from an interview from him, he said he called the producers and it was his idea to do young Sheldon since they already had the storyline from Big Bang theory
Plus Sheldon has two kids old enough to play hockey and wants to take acting classes. So unless biology has changed or we’ve suddenly evolved, it’s been quite a few years since the end of TBBT.
People ageing?... Impossible

That’s funny that he was on “Judging Amy” and then his character was basically judging Amy all the time on TBBT
Haha, good catch. Someone should get this put to Jim Parsons.
Hewas judging penny
Lol 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Not really, more like "Judging Penny for her academical records and judging Howard for his scientific career"
Nice.
People should not be shocked when it been years since the show ended. Everyone gets old, that's life.

Not everyone gets to grow old. So aging is honestly a good thing.

He looks great for 51
It's been 6 years?!?😧
Yes! Sheldon would have aged. It happens to the best of us. 😮
They used makeup to make him look older, took 47 minutes on average to make him look older
@ @Daveeeeeeyhowyoudoing
Yes! I know it was make up. Thanks for the fun fact about how long it took. That's amazing 😲 😃
Can we pause and process how big of a win it is that a prequel show was made about his character and he's still the highest paid actor with very little screen time outside of talking? This is one of the biggest wins ever!
So they didn't "make him look older" just was older
They still made him look older.
Both
Bruh did you even watch the short
He said they put makeup on him too purposefully make him look older as well
apparently they gave him makeup to make him look 60
but he didnt even look 50 to me
I thought it was normal that he aged tho, maybe people found it weird cause through over 10 seasons he always looked the same
Yeah
TBBT ended 6 years ago
I mean, Sheldon was only born in 1980. So the fictional character is 44 now.
It was an epilogue which means it's the future
I mean he does look around his late 40’s early 50’s to me
Yeah but the finale is an epilogue and we already knew it took place some time after the TBBT finale given Sheldon mentioned his son Leonard, named after Nimoy not Hofstadter.
In my mind’s eye… people still look like they did in the shows and movies I loved them in. I am always stunned to see them as they look now.
John Galecki as Leonard is such a perfect fit. I don’t think I’d ever watch the show if John was Sheldon, and Jim or friggin Stuart were Leonard.
That would be so weird

I like how at the end he looks off at the left after saying “people age”
Honestly, he doesn't look half bad for being 51
I honestly thought he was still 30
Me feeling old asf when he said TBBT premiered 18 years ago. I remember when the show came out i was in middle school😅
Can't believe they considered not giving Jim the role of Sheldon in TBBT.
They would've regretted it
He also played a mental patien on the tween show I Carly. He acted very much like Sheldon on that episode.
Jim parsons is still just as handsome as always
Young Sheldon? More like OLD Sheldon am i right?!
In the show, he should be 44
also its a memoir, something old people do, surprised they didn't make him older than that
It makes me feel rather young to think I'm the same age Sheldon was at the beginning of the show. Which is quite nice as being 34 I feel very old most of the time these days.
Most evidence suggests he was 27 in season 1 and 39 in season 12. If he was 34 in season 1 that would mean he was 46 in season 12.
@Theimpqala Yeah, I've since figured that out. Thanks.
dang dont feel old at 34 because if ur lucky to make it to 65 you think aww I was a baby haha

I always will remember him for his small but impactful role in Garden State. Working as a knight in a full suit of amour.

Parsons was in the film Garden State , he basically played Sheldon

He was also on Garden State before tbbt
People age? Shocker...
I really liked his older look
It would have been jarring if they made him look younger
I wanted to see his growth for however short it was
He became a dad too (at least in the show). Parenthood takes a toll on people.
Without Sheldon, the actor, the show would not have been worth watching! I love that show and I miss it I wish I could see reruns.
Jim Parsons also aged a lot since the show left the air so that’s a factor on why Sheldon looks older
People ageing … The audacity..
We must alert the church ⛪️ elders!!
It was actually Jim Parsons idea to have a spin-off prequel show
I love him in the boys in the band! He is good! A remake i saw on Netflix.
I can’t believe people are shocked when the public allowed Bill and Ted Face the Music to happen without batting an eye
Johnny chose right .. his character was the perfect niche for the show
So they wanted Sheldon to look 60 but decided Amy could look the same??
No they didn’t change how he looked at all he just aged
Damn 18 years since the 1st episode? Thats one of the few shows with close to no bad episodes
“He was asked to do young Sheldon” I’m pretty sure it was his idea 😂

If only people just didn't age
I don't think I expected him to look that old during the finale either
86 million dollars is fucking insane. I can't even begin to imagine what having money like that is like.
I first saw him in the movie. "Garden State." It was an uncomfortable, funny little scene he had.
1.2MILLION PER EPISODE?!?!?
Could they make the show without him
He was also in the Stride gum commercials
The man is aging like fine wine so they had to make him look older
TBBT came out 18 years ago!?!?! I thought it was like 7 tops but f*cking 18?!?!?! Omg I’m old

He's 51 years old. He just looked really young in his 40s and now he looks 40 LOL
Alyssa Edwards looking stunning at 51
“But yeah people age.” That’s so real though.😅 No it’s too simple there has to be another explanation! Lol😂
I remember him in a Stride gum commercial, right before BBT.
My mom went to homecoming with Jim parsons
I think Jim looked older because Sheldon had two kids when he appeared in Young Sheldon.
You forgot “garden state”.
Thank you
I first remember him from Garden State...anybody?
It’s crazy that leanord could’ve been Sheldon, I can’t even imagine that
I subscribed because i learned something. I learned that people age

Next thing he’s gunna say is it’s gunna affect us too smh
Sheldon was born in 1980 so he would be 44 in 2024
The scene in the finale takes place about 10 years from now
Funny thing is scientists are "in their prime" when they are older.... so they still can do another few seasons of Big Bang lol

Ngl, he looks young for his age. You got to admit it, he looks mid 40s to late 40s.

He was in iCarly too
People seem to forget that other people also age. Even famous people. Lol

People age??? Wow what a concept !
Damn he's 51 though? I'm getting old too noooo Dx

He does look unbelievably young at 50 even in the show. I guess they used makeup on his neck? That stood out like a sore thumb.
He had preteen/ teenaged kids at the end of Young Sheldon. Of course he was going to age.
I thought the reason they used makeup was to make him look more similar to his father.
