Well, I hope you enjoy it regardless! Let me know if I should try any other weird ideas in the comments below! 🥴👇
Will, this is awesome. Both ballsy and entertaining. It shows that practice, workflow, best practices, really knowing your favorite synth, and a smattering of theory really matter. Nicely done.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it :)
This was one of my favourite videos - really enjoyed the jeopardy and the science behind the production, bringing so many of the ideas from other videos together
Glad you enjoyed it!
It may look silly at first, but I think it is quite a good exercise. It shows you how good you know your daw, the plugins, the different elements of a track and the music theory behind it, how well you structured your sound folders and so on.
That was the idea - I'm glad you found it useful!
Having been born significantly, but not totally deaf in both ears, has also presented a challenge to me as a producer. I rely heavily on visual tools and spectrum analyzers as well as loads of useful tips and tricks learnt in the EDM Tips Acclerator programme !
Glad the tools help, David! :)
Damn bro and I can't even make good music after 10 years whilst having good hearing and I'm honestly really ashamed of that.
@@melazmusic Mr. Weyland says, "You should try harder..." 😂
@@melazmusic Maybe give this method a go? Sometimes we rely too much on our ears (and perception), which are both unreliable. You have to actively combat their flaws with frequent breaks, comparisons to other tracks, low listening levels, lots of different setups, etc. Maybe if you go in with no sound and follow the fundamentals then you'll end up learning your shortcomings? I'm no producer, just doing what I can for my cover songs, but I've really benefitted from listening to my stuff as LITTLE as possible during the arrangement process.
I usually enjoy having a laugh from your witty remarks in your tutorials, but this video was hilarious throughout! Cheers to your commitment to the experiment!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Loved it. It even helped me as a beginner as you walked through your thought process deeper than on some of the other builds.
Awesome, glad it was helpful! 🙂🙌🏻
I loved this Will and you chucked in a bit of Old Skool - GASH. I can't member the last time I heard that. Your a great teacher.
😂
That’s growing up on the Isle of Wight
Hi Will, just wanted to thank you for all your helpful videos. One of my tracks got picked up and played by BBC Introducing last night, loads of tips picked up from your channel were used when I was making the track. Keep up the good work. 💪👍
Awesome work! You’re very welcome, and keep on pushing! Drop me an email with a link - I’d love to hear it :)
Excellent video Jeremy! 🙌 You're also doing a great job as the UK's Chancellor of the Exchequer! (friendly banter, no offence intended).
There is literally no way I couldn't take offence to that! Mind you, I've been likened to a "skinny Putin" in the comments before, so I guess it's all relative 😆
How do you think Evelyn Glennie did it for all those years? As in live, WITH orchestras - and for those who don't know her, she was deaf her entire musical career, near enough. So, sadly, was Beethoven towards the end of his. If you can still hear the notes in your head, you can put them down on the staves.
You was flexing in style brother !!
Fair play will, did well here mate! Loving the content lately! 🙏
Thanks, Kelvin! Anything specific you'd like to see me cover?
@@EDMTips Well as a fellow working producer I’m used to being able to turnaround tracks for both myself and clients in a short time frame but I feel that lately as I’ve set the bar higher for myself with my level of production I’ve now started to procrastinate over little things in tracks that I wouldn’t have previously and never really know when to say a project is done. Would be good to see you do a video on something around this subject if possible?
What this exercise is great for is seeing all of Will's "I know this is going to work" tricks.
i did something like this when trying to help a friend over teamviewer. i couldnt hear the sound until i sent myself an mp3 from my friends pc. and it wasnt as bad as i expected it to be. Its a fun experiment to do once every few years.
This video tutorial can be very interesting I think, even for those like me who are deaf and need to rely a lot on visual references or comparisons with acoustic references. I saved it and I will look at it calmly, for the moment thank you very much (p.s. I apologize for my English)!
Your English is good, no need to apologise :)
I hope you enjoy the video, it was an interesting challenge for me!
this was the craziest tutorial I ve ever seen. honestly.
🤪
I am producing without my eyes. Maybe some inspiration for another video haha;).
That might be impossible to pull off 🤫
I absolutely loved the vocal line! Too bad that if someone who really can’t hear anything really can’t listen to the song when it’s finished.
Thanks! At least they can look at it, though!
@@EDMTips 😂😂😂😂
Even when you don't have sound on you produce better than me!😅 Cool video!
Practice makes perfect! Keep on going, improving every day and don't give up! 🙂
@@EDMTips I studied music production and music theory for like 6 years, bought studio equipment and everything, but I gave up about 3 years ago because my mixes sounds like trash and I was getting almost no sales. YOU have re-ignited my music interest again. I'm studying and practicing everyday now.
Just wanted to let you know how good you are at teaching compared to all the hundreds of channels I've watched over the years. Sorry for the long comment. Thank you a thousand!
@@bounzig Thank you so much, I really appreciate the support! I am also stoked you're back at it! Keep on grinding! :)
Any chance you could do a deep dive into eq. Does and don't , how to understand stacking eq, how to deal with eq'ing multiple tracks and finding their best placement, extreme eq'ing. Hopefully that makes sense.
Have you checked this video yet? ruclips.net/video/rpMqOwjOuMc/видео.html
Nice! 🤜🤛
🤙
Amen brother
Appreciate it! 🙌🙏
Do your next one binned out of it
😂
Haha very impressive Will - What headphones do you use? Or would recommend someone for producing ?
I have several I use, depending on a situation. You can check the links to them here: bit.ly/2K4eFHZ 🙂
This is still way much better then my ''production''))))))))))
We all have to start somewhere :)
Nice tuto Will
Thanks, I am glad you enjoyed it! 🙌🏻
F'in incredible! haha
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂🙌🏻
These days I was wondering if we suddenly went deaf could we produce good music? And this is the answer, thank you.
You're welcome, glad you enjoyed the video! 🙂
Oh dear. Beethoven Darling at it! 😅👍
😁
Rollover Beethoven
😂
Hell Yea
Appreciate it! 🙌🙏
I've heard worse. In nightclubs, come to think of it.
It's kind of like djing, I can mix tracks without ever hearing them from enough practice of what waverforms look like and what effects to use and when.
How do you make house like EMBRZ?
Amazing! Next time: blindfolded.
Oh man - I think that would be impossible! 😆
Which software form Music Production
Ableton Live 11 Suite
Beethoven POV 🎼
😁
Like the film, "It's All Gone Pete Tong"
😂
This is weird. I was taught, you EQ, Compress then Limit. 🤨🤔
No Ears Sonata by Will 'Beethoven' Darling. Next is EDM production like Stephen Hawking. Have a great weekend.
😂 Now THAT would be a challenge!
@@EDMTips Will, See MC Hawking on RUclips. Hilarious gangsta raps on theoretical physics.
No audio?
No audio - you can hear it but I can't
Pete tong sent me... a raging coked out badger also sent me....
Been there...
you shouldn't have fix it man, let us listen to what you've made with you without pausing it and fix 😅 but great job
Mental mental chicken oriental, you make better tracks than me
