Considering Penguin was trying to get his hands on titan and wanted to finally outmatch his rival art with Joker, it takes sense he’d eventually want to try it himself.
If you look at all the city concept arts you'll see pretty much nothing major from them were actually implemented in the final cut, most games change a lot through development, I really like the penguin we already got because it's the realist depiction of penguin we've ever had
The thing is, that desing is not official, it was a fanmade IGN stole for theirs, and only their thumbnail for the penguin trailer, they didnt give credit at all, so yeah, the idea of a Titan penguin sounds cool, but it was most likely never even thought about
I’m glad that didn’t happen. Also I’m glad I know where that photo comes from now, I would see it all the time on Arkham City Play Throughs back in the day
I remember seeing that render back when the first promo images for Arkham City was coming out. Like we had that very very first trailer from the website, then months later a couple black and white downloadable wallpapers and I'm 95% sure that render was fan made
I'm pretty glad we went without a titan Penguin, because I kinda find it out of character for Penguin to be the fists to fists fighter in the first place considering how his persona is after a high society man who orders fighters than doing it himself.
That artwork of Penguin wasn't even made by Rocksteady or Warner Bros. It was a fan-made render that IGN stole and used for THEIR trailer of Arkham City. This "Titan Penguin" was not, and is not at all connected to the lore of the Arkham franchise. Sorry to disappoint you..
NOPE this is not real, it's a fan made render that ign accidentally used in the thumbnail for the penguin trailer so many thought it was official. This is not from Rocksteady though…
It would be amazing if this game had a fight against Black Mask,Killer Croc and Bane Being bosses and especially we had the titan version of the penguin same as one of the trailers in the Thumbnail/Cover Not even as second dlc story It's just a shame we didn't have any of that.. Who also wanted it? 🤔🥺😭🤧 like and Bye!
That was a fanart for a contest that was used to promote the game, alongside antoher one of Poison Ivy that remained, however, the same from Arkham Asylum in the final Arkham City game.
the "titan penguin" is just stolen famart, only used for IGN's video thumbnail, for the love of god just Google things instead of believing everything you see
That was fan art that ign thought was a ingame screenshot of penguin. They even went as far to add it in the thumbnail of the Arkham city penguin trailer.
Only if he took too much, the main reason Joker's blood started to kill him because he O.D.'d, most others went back to normal or in the case of Poison Ivy managed to control the dosage she was given.
The Arkham games Penguin is still my favorite version of the character. Idk why, but making him British is a stroke of genius imo. He’s like a villain in a Guy Ritchie movie and it’s awesome.
I remember seeing this design for Penguin back in early 2011, that same day I had a wedding to go to. I was 11 and I thought tht was how Penguin was gonna look, so when we got his finished design, I wondered what the story was behind that original design.
Damn I never thought about this but ya if you look at the baterang in his chest and his umbrella it shows that he’s supposed to be pretty big in that image. I like the idea of titan penguin, but I’m glad they changed it to Grundy. Penguin shooting himself with titan would feel a bit derivative and this allows to show more villains. Also this point is debatable but part of me just doesn’t think penguin would inject himself with titan. He wouldn’t want to be a titan and he can just make a goon do it
Yes it would because you think he should have been DC Kingpin which he looks fat but he seems like he is superhumanly strong and so invulnerable especially if he supposed to be a normal man.
I guess the only reason it was removed because it wasn't going to fit the story. The titan was already known for its side effects due to the Joker's disease which would prevent anyone from injecting it to themselves
I believe that, but also I think they might’ve scrapped it due to the backlash from titan Joker. Neither of those characters are brawlers, so it doesn’t really suit them.
It's not a Titan version and they scrapped it because they already established that he looks nothing like that in the Arkham Asylum character bios. The only difference between the Arkham City version is that he has a haircut and a bottle shanked into his face instead of an actual monocle. Otherwise both look exactly the same.
@@thejordyoshi it doesn't have to be. Look at the umbrella! It's scaled for size. It's not a Titan version. The look is clearly inspired by Danny DeVito's version. The hair, the face, the flipper hands are all DeVito. It's an enourmous departure from the original Asylum depictions. He would've been the only character they changed. No one else depicted in Asylum has had any major changes in City. They look more comic accurate in Asylum but they tweek the designs in City to look more realistic and drab as they are all imprisoned and can't be as theatric with domino masks and crap. Riddler's design is a good example of this. We don't even see Penguin in his iconic Stovepipe Hat because it's in Arkham Asylum in a trophy case. Rocksteady were pretty attentive to show bits of continuity like that.
I just wanted a regular Penguin boss fight in the Arkham series. 1v1 against penguin with his umbrella having multiple weapons like a maching gun, knife, flamethrower, etc. Ugh
Honestly looking it, sure it looked scary even for younger me but looking at it now, part of me says that this design should’ve been made an actual boss
His umbrella is scaled for size so, no. It's not a Titan version. It takes clear inspiration from Burton's version with the face, long hair, flipper hands. Why that would sound more far fetched than a stupid Titan version is a bit ridiculous.
Thank god they didn’t use that. It would’ve been copy and past top to bottom of the titan joker. Reason why these games are so great is because they understood the golden rule for adapting comic lore. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
This isn't official artwork. This was fanart that for whatever reason IGN decided to out on the thumbnail of the video of the penguin trailer. Rocksteady doesn't have anything to do with it. This isn't even that hard to fact-check.
I don’t think this was a Titan-injected Penguin. I say that because look at the clothing: it looks too tailored, with no tears at all, as though he were expecting to fit into his clothing once he transformed.
He looks like he's pregnant with aliens. Glad they didn't make him that way. I gave up playing the Arkham Games a while ago so I never actually got this far.
Bruh the titan injected penguin would be insane 😮
But that would’ve just repeated the titan joker thing
@@Harlz_2007 nah cuz the joker fight sucked ass this would if been better
@@Harlz_2007it would just be the Grundy fight
It was fan art by someone ign used it
word
I remember seeing it and being freaked out when I was a kid. So when the trailer came out and he looked different I remember being relieved lol
It’s actually a fan made thing and ign just used it for the trailer for some reason
Someone should ask them why
This design was fan art made just after Asylum, if I recall, and I think there may be an enemy in the Resident Evil games the art was based off of
Yeah the fan art was only used for the ign reveal trailer, not real.
actually it was official, just not for Arkham city. I'm pretty sure it was like a figurine or something
@@Shalashaska-x5xactually it wasn't official. It's confirmed fan art.
Confirmed by who?@@HOTD108_
Considering Penguin was trying to get his hands on titan and wanted to finally outmatch his rival art with Joker, it takes sense he’d eventually want to try it himself.
This is apparently not an official piece.
Fan art from about 10 years ago or so after Asylum released. If so, than there’s the confusion cleared up.
Its fan art yes. Ign used it and it just blew up
Damn if it’s fan art that’s actually really cool that they used it for the trailer
Crazy how the fan art lined up with city’s marketing
@dogcatcher7041 rocksteady was doing a contest and that fan art won. BTW ign is not good idea to trust. They lie and say fake things
I swear it was just a design made by a fan, it was covered on the Arkham iceberg
Yep ign used it
A titan version of penguin would just be the same size as batman 😂
This was a fan design and IGN used it for a thumbnail and it went viral really cool tho
Though the design is creepy as hell, I'm glad they scrapped that idea.
In my opinion it would have made jokers injection feel shallow
It was never an idea, it was a render for a comic contest back in like 2010, this is just misinformation
For me creepy is cool but that’s your opinion. Have a nice day
nah he looks cooler
@@stonky947no what you’re saying is misinformation 😂😂
The character model is sick
If you look at all the city concept arts you'll see pretty much nothing major from them were actually implemented in the final cut, most games change a lot through development, I really like the penguin we already got because it's the realist depiction of penguin we've ever had
Titan infected penguin whould basically just be a single normal sized thug
Heh~
It's neither. It's a fan made drawing that a game review company included in their video
the scariest awesome penguin. Would have made a lasting impression.
I love this design, i hope they can implement this in live action, but in glad they went with solomun grundy
This isn't an official design. It's a fan design that was used by a game journalist
That's not concept art. It's literally fan art
This channel loves to make fanfiction art into canon lore that never even existed.
Not suppossed to be in the game it was just a really appreciated fan art
The penguin design is insane I would buy the game just to see it
The thing is, that desing is not official, it was a fanmade IGN stole for theirs, and only their thumbnail for the penguin trailer, they didnt give credit at all, so yeah, the idea of a Titan penguin sounds cool, but it was most likely never even thought about

This is actually a fan design that won a contest to be used in the official trailer
It’s not associated with the Arkham games as in, it’s not made by rocksteady
From what I know, that render isn't actually from Rocksteady but instead was from a Comic render competition thingy
This was actually just official looking fan art that someone made and then ign used it in the thumbnail of the penguin trailer
IGN used a fan made sculpture. That’s it
well actually this design is just some fan made model of the penguin that has nothing to do with the Arkham games
I remember seeing that render back when the first promo images for Arkham City was coming out. Like we had that very very first trailer from the website, then months later a couple black and white downloadable wallpapers and I'm 95% sure that render was fan made
To debunk this. This was an old fan made piece that IGN used for the thumbnail of a trailer for whatever reason. It is in no way official
Also, despite the teaser images of The Penguin wearing a Top Hat for Arkham City, he never wore one in the game.
Or they probably didn't want people to hate on titan Penguin like how titan Joker went.
I'm pretty glad we went without a titan Penguin, because I kinda find it out of character for Penguin to be the fists to fists fighter in the first place considering how his persona is after a high society man who orders fighters than doing it himself.
Am I the only one to think this design of penguin would be a boss in the dead rising franchise.
Actually it was a piece of stolen fanart used by accident
That design was drawn by a fan and only included because they really liked it. It wasn’t supposed to be in the game
Ign used it rocksteady never did
That artwork of Penguin wasn't even made by Rocksteady or Warner Bros.

It was an IGN prank
To me, I usually don't agree when ideas are scrapped, but in this case, I'm glad it was.
Yeah but the penguin is gonna get sick and die just like joker

if this original Penguin titan design even existsd, it would actually be a lot hillarous to see in this game. I liked Solomon Grundy more by the way.
Seven year old me would’ve been freaking out
Batman: that's one big penguin
The treats he made would have been way scarier😂
