  • @JimBlueFitness

    Got one being delivered to my local GC today. I very much appreciate the review. I previously played the EF341SC and compared it to a $2200 Taylor. To me, the sound was great on both, and the playability of both was great (including up in the 12th fret area, which is what I wanted). I was like, "why do I need to spend $700 more for the Taylor if this Takamine sounds and feels good?" Well, stupid reason perhaps, but my Strat is black and I didn't want to have two black guitars, LOL! But then, along came an ad for THIS guitar, followed by finding your video, and I was sold on the look and sound. Now my greatest hope is that this beautiful guitar plays as well as the EF341SC. If it does not, I will probably exchange the PT for the EF and "suffer" having all black guitars! 🤪 Fingers crossed! 🙂

I can't find any differences between the ptu241c-tb and the takamine ps5dc-tb. I believe the ps5dc-tb was made for the Italian market, but if anyone knows please share.

    I’ve been playing for a few months now, and gotten pretty decent, it’s during quarantine so I can’t really go to guitar center and try it out... BUT it’s on sale for 1,000$ NEW! Sale ends in three days, but do I really need it? Should I buy and not try? They have the extended return policy too, what should I do? Should I buy the PTU?

    • @RumblinMan
      @RumblinMan  4 года назад

      K Smith Music better than all of the above. Taks play much better than Taylors. Seagulls are crap. Martins, it takes thousands to get a decent one. Not to mention Takamine has the best electronics in existence.

    PTU241C - GC now nearly sold out, brought one in from Birmingham AL to the Atlanta store, and just picked it up. It's so well built I can't stand it, and I agree at the price there simply isn't anything that compares. The sunburst is beautiful on it, thanks for sharing your opinions on it! I gig out 2-3 times a month. I have tried a lot of different guitars everything from Gibson, Taylor, Martin ect. I still always come back to my Takamine Tan 15c with cooltube preamp. I am in the market for another Takamine and after looking at your video I am convinced that the PTU241C is my choice. I just ordered me one today. It sounds amazing. I can’t wait to hear it plugged in.

    Hi, I guess, your video made me finally decide for this guitar, besides the many good reviews, of course.
    Not for me, I am not a musician, only a fan of good music. It is now in Adelaide as a gift for a young female artist, who very much deserved something this beautiful in her life.
    If you ever should hear something from Mikayla Jade, later, she is just at the beginning, and you see her with a black guitar, you will know, your video was one of the reasons ;-)

    Hey Dan how would this Takamine compare to a Taylor 214ce? I play mostly unplugged so I'm trying to decide between the two from that standpoint. Right now by me the PTU241C and Taylor 214ce are around the same price so I'm torn

    • @RumblinMan
      @RumblinMan  5 лет назад

      Mr.J31 hey bro! Well, plugged-in and unplugged are two different things, and the Taks are unmatched in terms of plugged-in sound. In your case, mostly playing unplugged, there’s a lot to consider. For one, the Taylor is a Grand Auditorium body shape, while this model Takamine is a Dreadnaught. A Grand Auditorium sounds more trebly, while a Dreadnaught sounds more full. Both brands make Dreadnaughts and smaller-bodies guitars alike. But with the Takamine, you get a lot more bang for your buck. A Tak at this price point is a pro-level instrument with great stability, looks, electronics and aesthetics. With Taylor, though the 200 series guitars have a nice sound, you don’t really get into the more pro-level guitars until you hit the 300 series. I’ve know a number of people who have owned Taylor 214ce’s and have been disappointed. The neck really isn’t that great, and the guitars are still mostly laminate wood. You can get a gloss finish if you go with the deluxe model, but it still fails in my opinion. Plus, no matter how nice a Taylor you get, you have the ES2 pickup system that a lot of players don’t like. So in my opinion, the Takamine wins on all ends. But, for playing music around the house, the 214ce is fine.

    • @MrJ.31
      @MrJ.31 5 лет назад +1

      @@RumblinMan My man! Yeah the 214ce dlx was the one i was looking at. Let me ask you another question if you dont mind. I want the guitar I'm looking to get to have excellent and almost easy and smooth playability and a super smooth, warm sound. I really like the bluesy sounds of Clapton and the smooth sounds of Sanata and Al Di Meola. I don't have alot of experience in guitar shopping but I was looking at some Takamine, Taylor, and Martin in the $1500 price range. Would a Tak like the Ptu241c still be the way to go or do you maybe have a better idea for me? I appreciate the help bro

    • @RumblinMan
      @RumblinMan  5 лет назад

      @@MrJ.31 Man, Takamine will give you that, if you ask me. The other brands might be "trendier", but at the price point they don't compare in quality. A Takamine dreadnaught will definitely give you a smooth, warm sound. As far as playability goes, I personally find the necks much more player-friendly than Taylor's guitars. This model will give you all of that. The EF341SC, also mentioned in this video, is slightly lower-priced but plays and sounds incredible as well. You can't go wrong with either!

    • @RumblinMan

      @@RumblinMan Bro thanks so much for the feedback I appreciated it so much. I swung by GC today to take advantage of a sale on the Tak Ptu241c for $1399 which is a steal, but I wound up leaving with a Taylor instead. I grabbed a $1500 brand new black 214ce deluxe and somehow got it for under a grand! I just couldn't pass up that price lol.
