Fantastic tutorial. Helped me so much. After sounding horrific, fan stopped spinning altogether. I cleaned it as you suggested it still would not spin freely. Added the grease and BAM! Just like new. You saved my bacon (and wallet) on this one!
Thank you so much man, this video is a lifesaver. My gpu fan randomly stopped spinning and I was scared that it was the end of my laptop. Follow your video and it fixed it! Also as side note I found hair around the axel which I think prevented the fan from spinning. I’m not sure how that hair on in there
Glad it helped. I found some hair too in the fan grill intake. Just make sure regularly clean or vacuum the air vents. It helps a lot. I havent opened my laptop since for deep cleaning after my video. I just vacuum the vents once a week.
Bro, thank you so much. You just save me some cash. I was able to identify that only one fan of my laptop has a problem and was about to give up and take it to a repair shop, until I found your video and instead use wd 40 and boom it worked.
On my laptop there seems to be 2 strips of tape connecting the fan to the heatsink, similar to this video. Mind if I ask how you got the first strip of tape off (the one on the leftmost side at 3:02)? I don’t feel comfortable peeling from the corner. Thank you!
Just peel it. Just make sure no dust will come in contact to it, so that you can use it again. But if ever it wont stick anymore, don't worry, it is just a Heat Resistant Tape. You can buy it anywhere like amazon for less than $10 for replacement. I just replaced mine since i kept experimenting with my laptop. it wont stick anymore. lol Just had no video of it.

Removing the metal fan I had a really hard time. Eventually I got it out but I think I’ve somehow bended some of the blades and now when I power on the computer the fans start hittting the sides and making hard screeching noises. Any help on how to fix the metal fan o a cheap alternative one to buy?
Ouch. That really is bad. Sorry to hear that. You can buy the exact same fan in Amazon. Its about $20 cad. Before you install it, make sure to lube it first. Be extra careful in removing the blades though.
Bro one question. Is it possible to swap out the fan blades? Will the GPU fan blade fit to the CPU fan magnet and housing vice versa? Informative Vid BTW. You got a sub
yeah. you can. it has same circumference and slot But it is not recommended. i did it once however, it made an awful lot of noise. the metal blade is designed for the GPU to distribute the heat faster. I am trying different fans on this machine. but till now, no luck,
@@YESTOADVENTURES I just checked mine. PH315-53. The blades can't be swap since the gpu fan blade won't fit to CPU fan blade stator. Maybe you could trim off the GPU fan housing so that you could fit it inside the mounting for the cpu fan.Or you could also take out the PCB and stator inside the CPU fan housing and replace it with GPU fan. I'm not sure if it's possible to take out the pcb from the housing since the adhesive seems so strong. I ordered a set of gpu and cpu fan. I will see what i could do.

Nice to hear to found a replacement. Yes, the fans are quite delicate. A little bend and it will be destroyed. Also, you cant use just any grease coz its magnetic and electronic. It wont work if it short circuited.
I try to pull out the plastik one and it was not that Easy as yours. In fact i broke it and need to order a new one. The other one was much easier i think there was a problem inside with it.
Awesome video, thanks! The only part I don't understand is 6:14. You say something along "This is a metal blade fan, the fragile one, so be careful". How come metal blades (and not the plastic ones) are fragile?
Hello. Thank you for visiting. Yes, metal blades when bent wont go back to its original form. It is so thin and a little bump or push will deform it. Unlike with the plastic blade, it is thicker and once bent it goes back without dedorming it.. But not to much, it will break. A deformed blade will cause unbalance and will make a sound. Hope that helps. 😊
Just minimal force. Try to pull the edge little by little from both sides until it pops out. Or just wiggle it first to loosen it. Just remember never to pull the wires.
i Tried to clean manually just opened the back and clean with dry brush but still the noise still present i think i got to buy this lubricant and do it all over again
Did that as well before. Cleaning and brushing the dirt out does not work at all. Lubricating it is the only thing that worked. Even buying a brand new fan has the same sound after a weeks of use.
